Non-existent customer service and con trade in offer
Like many others, I've been caught out by the trade in offer for The Last Of Us Remastered. Sent a game for trade in over 3 weeks ago. I've now received the new game, but still charged full price. I have sent 2 messages via the support option on their website, one the day the game was dispatched to me (2 weeks ago), and another last week. I have not received a response to either. A delay in processing things is one thing, but completely ignoring your customers is just unacceptable. Even on their Facebook page, some customers with other issues are having their's addressed, but the majority of people with this issue are being ignored.
They took nearly £80 out of my account for a pre-order
It clearly says on their website they take money out for pre-orders when its shipped...I pre-ordered Destiny Limited Edition and noticed nearly £80 was missing from my account. Lo and behold Gamestop UK is the culprit.
Now am emailing them to get this money back or to cancel the pre-order, I don't like paying for something that isn't out yet that well in advance.
Avoid! Scammers, disgusting customer service
Like several others, I was also stung by their The Last Of Us scam. Deal was trade in a game and get The Last Of Us on PS4 for £10... Sent my trade-in game, got no acknowledgement that my trade-in was received, and was charged £30 for the pre-order. I also did not receive the promised "Day One Edition" DLC. They haven't replied to my emails. This is the worst customer service from a "legitimate" retailer that I have ever received. Had I read the reviews here beforehand and seen that so many have had these bad experiences with Gamestop UK, I would not have used them.
Their behaviour is absolutely disgusting, they can't be bothered to answer emails from scammed customers but they have the time to post fake five-star reviews on Trustpilot to counterbalance all the negative ones their victims are leaving.
They are either con artists, completely incompetent, or most likely both. Despite the appalling service, people know Gamestop from the household name US company and assume the UK version is trustworthy. I won't make that mistake again. When Gamestop UK screw things up like this, the US company should be made aware and consider cutting ties with this bunch of chancers/thieves.
An Absolute Shambles
I pre-ordered The Last Of Us Remastered and made use of the trade in offer to get the game for £9.97. I added to cart and my trade envelope arrived quickly..so far so good. I decided to trade Assassins creed 4 for PS4 and promptly posted. I was dismayed to see I had been charged £30 a good while before the game was released which could cause some people problems but I figured this would be updated to £10 and refunded soon after. I started emailing my concerns about a week before the game was released asking if they had received my trade in and when I would get my refund..nothing. 2 weeks of emailing and still nothing. Day before release date and my game drops through the door, open it up to find I've been sent a standard edition with no survivor DLC! Emailed asking for a code to be emailed to me to wait a further week. Eventually today (after completing the game) received an email with a code saying that I was emailed a code and probably went into my junk..I wasn't and it didn't, I was also told that they didn't receive my trade in and that it is probably lost! so I've now paid £30 for a standard edition of the game instead of £10 and lost another PS4 game. My first time using Gamestop and probably my last! I understand games can go missing in the post but looking at other reviews certainly not that many!
Truly Awful
Avoid for pre-orders, if you have a problem like it not turning up despite receiving the dispatch email they are very difficult to contact and do not respond at all to the support tickets raised, voice mails, messages etc etc. I'm sure they're great when everything is fine and prompt delivery should be expected of these companies. Sign of a truly bad company is their response when you need some customer service which has been non existent for me.
Can't fault them, best price and fast delivery
Ordered The Last of Us for PS4 on Tuesday as it was the best price out of all of the game retailers. Item was delivered Thursday from taking the free standard delivery option. This is my first time ordering with Gamestop so if their prices are right and they can post my preorders on time I will definately use them again.
They can get it right!
After reading some of the reviews on here, I though to leave one myself. My experience with Gamestop has been excellent. I ordered 'The Last of Us Remastered' on Monday for a cheaper price than I've seen it anywhere else, selected standard shipping, received my confirmation email, the following day I received my dispatch email and the game arrived Wednesday morning, no fuss. The majority of reviews you see here are negative because people who have successful experiences often don't review the company, however upon reading some of the reviews here I thought I would try to restore some credibility to the company. I thoroughly recommend them!

Ordered a game on Monday night using the free postage option. Dispatched Tuesday. Delivered Wednesday. Enough said really!
Now to kill some zombies.
First time = last time
My game didn't arrive on release date and so waited a few days before calling them to see what was happening. No one picked up. Waited, checked the site for support times and called again. No one picked up.
Raised a support ticket. Two days later, nothing.
Phoned again multiple times. No one ever picks up.
I'm sure that if you get your game/console without problem, then they're good but for someone who hasn't, this is not good.
I will not use again. I will go back to using my usual sources for games even if they are a couple of quid more.

Don't use under any circumstances, I used them because a game was cheaper, but if the game doesn't even arrive then theres no point in doing business with them.

I sent my trade in game as part of The Last of Us Remastered offer in the provided prepaid envelope. I was expected to be charged 9.97 but was instead charged 29.97. I contacted gamestop who said they did not receive the trade in and advised me to contact Royal Mail. Royal Mail said that as the postage service was provided by gamestop and not you (first class pre paid envelope), they and not me will have to talk to them about the compensation for a lost item. My responsibility stretched as far as following gamestop's instructions which I did. I also provided gamestop proof that the trade in game was sent well ahead of their cut off date. After telling gamestop this, they stopped replying to my emails. Nothing short of pathetic. They have a similar offer for FIFA15. AVOID!!!!!

I pre-ordered The Last of Us Remastered PS4 over two weeks ago and they took the money out instantly which at times is fine. They shipped it 'apparently' on Thursday morning around 3am. Still not received the game on release day and this is unacceptable. I have sent countless emails to gamestop with no reply and tried to contact them with no success. No customer service at all.

I pre ordered The Last of Us (PS4) from Gamestop because they were the cheapest. Then I read the reviews and wasn't exactly filled with confidence and didn't really expect it to arrive within the first few days of release.
However I was surprised to get an email from them 2 days before release saying my game had been shipped. The game arrived the next day (the day before release).
I can't complain at all and would use them again if they continue to be cheaper than Game and Amazon.
Please AVOID no matter what.
I bought a controller for my ps4 via the website. Paid using my credit card. The payment was processed straight away and next day I recived an email saying that my order has been confirmed. Since then I haven't recived my controller at all, status of order still says confirmed, no email to confirm that parcel has been dispatched.
The worst part is that I've been trying to contact them via email but without success as they don't reply AT ALL.
When I try to contact them on the phone all I get is an automated message saying that "No support agent is currently available to take your call..." or "Please wait while we transfer you to the next available support agent" and after 5minutes of waiting and listening to the music it comes up with "No support agent is currently available...".
This is a complete disgrace. Never had to deal with such unprofessional and incompetent company. Now when I want to cancel my order there is absolutely no way to do it and I have no idea how to get my money back. I'm stuck with no controller and no money.
Never expetcet to get involved in something like this in 21st centruy where customers are usually treated with respect and care.

I sent a game in using the trade-in scheme, I used the prepaid envelope that was provided I sent it on the 12th July about 17 days ago and it still hasn't arrived at their warehouse. I am not happy, especially after already being charged well in advanced, after this purchase I doubt I will ever be shopping at gamestop again.

Like a lot of others. I flocked to the deal for the remastered 'Last of us' game on PS4 as it was £7-8 cheaper than anywhere else.
On their website it says they take payment on dispatch (The game is out on the 1st august so it should have been a few days before then) however on the 23rd July they request the money from my bank account not once, not twice but FIVE times meaning about £150 was pending on my bank account.
I e-mailed them straight away and 6 days later still have no reply.

My review comes from an awful experience using GameStop UK. They have a very good price for The Last Of Us on the PS4 and I automatically assumed they was trustworthy given that they are a big chain.
The customer service is non-existing; you are just given an email address, help@gamestop.co.uk, and all I wanted to do was cancel my preorder. I decided to cancel it after reading the reviews from this web site that they did not get their preorders in time and had problems with getting in touch with them so decided to cancel the preorder.
To cancel orders, you must email help@gamestop.co.uk, and I sent an email over 7 days ago and still awaiting an response to cancel my order. There's no telephone number on their web site so decided to google their offices and they don't pick up the telephone.
I have had to resort to cancelling my credit card so they cannot take my money. I would never use them again and even sent an email to their CEO on LinkedIn asking him to cancel my order.
I strongly recommend to avoid even if it is tempting as they have some good prices (like their PS4) as you will have problems when you need to get in touch with them.

I ordered on a Thursday for a present to be given a week the following Sunday. PayPal payment went through quickly and assumed as the website states all orders over £150 have free express delivery that it would arrive by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. On checking the status on Monday it only said confirmed. I sent 2 emails asking about the status and when I could expect delivery, when I had no response from these I sent 2 tweets, again with no response. Tried phoning the number to be met with an answer machine and no call back came when details left!
Finally by the Thursday I had enough and was worried about my order not arriving on time so I emailed to cancel the order, stating if it wasn't dealt with quickly then I would be seeking advice from trading standards! Lo and behold a reply came within 30 minutes apologising for the delay and stating it was due to a game in the bundle being out of stock (even though website states it's in stock)! They offered to send what they had in stock by express delivery now or go ahead with cancellation. I did not believe that I would receive anything on time going by what had happened so cancelled and re-ordered through amazon for guaranteed delivery by the date I required. The refund was processed very quickly to be fair!
Absolutely awful customer service, a quick email explaining the situation wouldn't have been difficult or a quick reply to my many attempts at communication!
I will definitely not use them again!
Reviews freaked me out!
After ordering a xbox one from this company because of the price package I later found this site and felt sick, I had spent £399.00 of my sons hard saved cash on this and by the reviews the likely hood of it arriving without fuss was very low. I felt physically sick when I read the reviews and apologised to my son for not checking them out first. I am still waiting for my email to say it's left the warehouse, actually have just checked my inbox as I type this and it has just arrived. but then again The Xbox one ARRIVED before the email, ordered on Wednesday, delivered on Friday. Yes this company has been slated but am pleased to say that there are absolutely no issues here.

Just over a month ago I put down an order for a PS4 console at Gamestop, due to the price being the best around.
£329 seemed like a good deal, and I understood it was a 'waiting list', so didn't mind hanging on a bit... A month goes past and my order is still marked as 'confirmed', but I've heard absolutely nothing. A few weeks ago I notice on their website that the consoles are 'back in stock'. As you'd expect, I was a bit confused to why I was still on the list, if they're actually in stock and ready to dispatch. I was curious, so I went into the contact section of their website. They suggest you email 'help@gamestop.co.uk', so I whack off an email enquiring about my order.
..Nine days later, still heard nothing. I resort to sending a 'tweet', and it seems quite blatant that they are very selective about who they reply to. Still nothin'....
Every time you send these jokers an email, you are put in some kind of waiting list just to get a bloody response.
I decided to cancel the order, as I was getting sick of waiting for a console which is in stock everywhere else (finally), but I imagine, due to the cheaper price at Gamestop, people are flocking here. The non-existent customer service however, leaves a rather sour taste in my mouth...... Hmmmm, hang on, where's the cancel button? ....Ahhhh that's right, I have to send an email AGAIN to these cretins with my order details. So I have to get shoved into another waiting list just to get a response to cancel an order/preorder? really????!!! ....Absolutely appalling! ...I still haven't heard back, so I'm getting rather frustrated!
I wouldn't usually vent, by writing a piss poor (slightly clunky-written) review, displaying my anger... But this time I will make an exception! :)
....oh I almost forgot, there IS a phone number though.. Phew!! That's a relief right?
...Ohh right, every time I try it, it diverts to some american-voiced answer phone message... Jesus christ, all I want to do is cancel an order! The first and LAST time I use this joke of a service.
I ordered it off Amazon in the end for 20 quid more, but it came the next day. I always get fantastic service with Amazon, and the customer service is spot on! But I've still got this irritating 'confirmed' order from Gamestop and zero communication.
I really should have read these reviews before even thinking about making a purchase at Gamestop... "Scum, Sub Human Scum" :)
