A Waste of Space
I had a problem with Last Minute Plumber, which overcharged me and failed to deliver what they promised (The boiler broke within a month of Last Minute Plumbing "fixing" it).
So I filed a complaint with Gas Safe Registry, hoping that they could exert pressure on Last Minute Plumbing.
Instead of being helpful, they have different people handling my case, resulting in me having to repeat my story on email multiple times. They even asked me for the model of the old boiler which had been replaced more than 2 months prior, knowing full well that I couldn't provide the boiler model.
When I challenged them on why do I need to provide the boiler model, when the complaint was related to poor workmanship carried out by a plumber, they made things more complicated by saying some boiler would require a gas safe registered plumber whereas other boiler model doesn't require that.
How I perceive it, it's a whole lot of BS just so that they can pretend they are serving consumers, when at the end of the day, this seems to be an organisation that exist to suck up taxpayers' money while pretending to work.
Good luck trying to get Gas Safety Register to help you!

Gas UN-Safe Register
Unfortunately, my experience was very poor. The gas engineer left my new boiler uncommissioned and incorrectly installed for 13 months, resulting in a failure to meet UK Building Regulations and Building Control requirements.
Following an inspection by the Gas Safe Register / Capita Public Service, remedial work was formally instructed. The engineer failed to return or complete these required safety works.
I was forced to pay for a second Gas Safe engineer to correct the installation and make the system compliant.
What is most concerning is that this engineer continues to operate in the industry, including undertaking work for major companies such as British Gas, despite the serious safety issues identified. This experience has caused significant stress and unnecessary expense.
I reported an unsafe gas installation, and nothing from Gas Safe Register
I reported an unsafe gas installation and, a week on, I have received nothing but automated emails. There has been no meaningful response, no inspection arranged, and no indication that anyone is taking the safety risk seriously. The experience makes Gas Safe Register feel like a toothless organisation with no enforcement power or oversight. Their failure to act or communicate properly undermines public safety and leaves dangerous installations unaddressed. At this point, it feels like they exist as a mere website list, and to protect installers, not the people put at risk by poor or unsafe work.
gas safe are useless
gas safe are useless, scammers. take no responsibility to help customers when a member leaves the boiler with a issue after a service and goes AWOL wont answer calls.
Gas Safe is a joke
Gas Safe is a joke, absolute rip off and there staff are clueless and cant answer simple questions.

This is Completely scam job doing with gas safe name, the people who came to install this product offered some gifts and said it Will be delivered after some days(mentioned dates on 30th sept 25) but there is no response from the team, the number which they gave was switched off now, and said to pay 2.5k when they came to sale this product, till today there is no response... People pls don't go for it.... It is completely froud.
Gas Safe fail duty of care to customers
After concerns about a boiler installation I contacted Gas Safe and they came out to check the plumbers work. They put a 'Danger - do not use' sticker on my boiler, and provided a report which had 14 faults left by the gas safe registered plumber.
Gas safe told me they will arrange for the plumber to return to put the work right.
The plumber refused to return to correct his shoddy work, and despite me chasing, Gas safe have failed to respond for 2 months now.
It is a legal requirement to have a gas safe engineer to work with gas and install a gas boiler - which means Gas Safe have a duty of care towards consumers. It seems anyone can be gas safe registered now and carry out sub-standard (and illegal) work and get away with it - Gas Safe; you are not fit for purpose.

If these people are supposed to be providing a safe service for Gas installations in this country, it’s a service that leaves a lot to be desired

Absolute lies about a boiler being…
Absolute lies about a boiler being faulty from a company set up Health and Safety Executive. Shocking behaviour. Failed to carry out test! This would have proved no gas leak.
Hopeless lot.
Everything is digital now. I paid the money to get an installation certificate that I should have been sent 14 days after having a boiler installed by Corgi registered engineers. Now I am told I will have to wait about 10 days to get the certificate. Why the hell do I have to wait for a document they have on file. Its a duplicated certificate, why does it not come as soon as I pay.
Brilliant
Brilliant customer service. Kirk was knowledgeable and helped with all my queries very efficiently.
Thank you
GAS SAFE DON'T CARE!!
I reported a Gas Safe registered engineer for bad work (and included pictures) that could have killed people and they just don't want to know.
It seems to me that if you just happen to renew your membership each year you are covered whether you are dangerous or not.
They are a joke and a dangerous one at that!!
YOU SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN!

Every time I try to search for an engineer the website crashes and times out. Looks nice and well designed, but it can’t do the actual basics.
The website is totally useless
The website is totally useless. over complicated and difficult to find relevant information. I'm being invoiced for something that i never ordered, but i cant renew my registration until its paid. I cant get in touch with anybody to resolve the issue. I dread every time I have to use their website.

I accidentally ordered a boiler replacement certificate having missed an email. I paid the amount for the replacement. I explained my situation and my responsibility for the mistake. The company didn't give a refund even though I had two copies of the exact same certificate. Very disappointing.
17% increase in renewal fee
17% increase in renewal fee? Ridiculous increase.

2 days back I booked for a normal service from Gas safe, I got a call from one of the team, they told the normal Service is 50 pounds and didn't say its for call out only. Even the technician came too late and before discussing anything he opened the boiler and said the call out is 50 and the service is 199. I told him, they told me only 50 for service. He is so rude and shouting at me. I told him to go our from my home, but he is resistive to go out and am little bit frightened. He left the home without closing the boiler cover and took the home pictures. I don't know what this crazy guy will do later.
As a registered company on the gas safe…
As a registered company on the gas safe register your website is horrendous. No wonder we register installs via the manufacturers websites. Why can I not bring up my recent installations? Why is there no search bar in the engineers area? Yet the consumer side you can search for whatever you want. What do you actually do for companies for our registration fees? Oh yeah and this is after it taking half an hour to log on because you’ve changed the way we do it! And when we do ring for technical advise we’re told “you’re the engineer on site it your call” my five year old daughter could tell me that!
Bollocks of a company and registration team!
