Popped in to this store today to get some hiking socks, staff very friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough to help. So refreshing to see this and staff who looked happy at their work. Thrilled to see they offer blue light discount when many other retailers are bowing out. Keep up the good work, I will be back soon.

Meindl Respond GtX purchase experience
I purchased a pair of Meindl Respond Gtx walking shoes after initially going into the store to look at Scarpas which weren't available. The assistant was very helpful and I was very happy with my purchase. One of the shoes unfortunately developed a very annoying click with every step but I went back to store to discuss it. After a quick check, they replaced my shoes no problem. The Go Outdoors membership is worth every penny too.

Absolutely brilliant manager
The manager of this store went above and beyond to sort out an issue with our membership and card.
We have been members for in excess of 20 years but unfortunately, despite renewing our membership when we purchased trousers in the Ayr store in April, our recent online order wouldn’t go through because it showed our membership was expired.
Having called customer services, who couldn’t see what the issue was, it was suggested we either pay our membership again and then wait to be refunded or go to the Ayr store. We decided a trip to the Ayr store was the best option. The manager in the store searched her receipt records, but after trying for quite a while, couldn’t separate our receipt from the many others she had so decided to try a work around for us.
Long story short she found the details had somehow become corrupted on our membership so she started a new one for us, made sure all our correct details were then entered and provided us with a new card and also kindly gave us a goodwill discount on the item we then wanted to buy.
All in she was a lovely lady who, thankfully, got to the bottom of the issue for us. Thank you

The staff at this store are simply the best.Always helpful and knowledgeable without being intrusive, they provided excellent advice about walking gear (again) and a gentle reminder about membership renewal!In the age of online shopping this shop is a great reminder why it sometimes pays to speak to trained and helpful staff.
