Me and my partner visited go outdoors in vangarde today as we were camping in the area, we needed some advice from the staff about tent poles and Kelly and Clive were more than happy to help, they went above and beyond to help us and we can’t thank them enough, they saved our camping trip!!

Having failed to find the type of jacket I was looking for I spoke to assistant Katie and she was extremely helpful. She showed me around and found a few for me to try on the last of which was just perfect. Without her help I would never have found it. Also she was very pleasant, kind and patient. Nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be going there again.

The store is huge, there’s everything you need with different price points to suit different budgets. We asked for help looking for a waterproof jacket and Sue was brilliant, really knowledgeable and friendly - thanks Sue!

We visited Go Outdoors at Vangarde, Huntington, York and were hugely impressed.

There was an excellent and very wide range of products on view: we went in specifically to look for a pair of gym training shoes. We got really helpful advice on our choice - to make sure we got the right item for the gym activities in question. We also got the shoes at a great Members' price.

Easy to use and good service click and collect

I popped in with my son to buy rock climbing shoes. He ended up buying a few things. The store is clean and tidy and well stocked.

Staff: Nibal was awesome. I have membership, but haven't added it to my Google wallet. Nibal was friendly and very patient while trying to find my details. Nibal is a credit to the store

Fantastic service from Charlotte H today when I came in with my son looking for various clothes for doing his DofE. Charlotte was extremely knowledgeable about each item we needed and talked us through the benefits of each brand. She kitted us out with everything my son needed and couldn’t have been more helpful. A very pleasant experience. Every store needs a Charlotte H!

Helped today by Sue, we were buying a man’s lightweight waterproof, she new about every brand, very helpful, we eventually bought a Berghaus, she even showed us how to fold it into the hood

Visited Go Outdoors looking for a waterproof coat and was really impressed by the range available. I was helped by Jess, who gave detailed information about the different types of coats and levels of waterproofing — she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks to her advice, I found exactly what I was looking for. Really pleased with my purchase!

Andy listened carefully to my requirements and steered me in the right direction. He knew his stuff and explained why one model suited my needs and budget.

Ordering online was very easy to do and collection easy to pick up.

we went to the store on 2nd may 2026. we were greeted by Izzy who was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about every product we asked to look at. She explained about the deal they had on chairs and we ended up buying a yeti one along with an outwell one , she also helped us decide which cool box was suitable for our needs. she made our experience a lot easier than just staring at things not knowing what to get. One of the best customer service experiences I have ever had! Thank you to Mel, Josh and Eve for checking my unsuitable unused tent over 7 months after I bought it and giving my a full value credit note to put towards another one. Very approachable, friendly and understanding staff. I was happy to prove my mum wrong who said I would be too late to get anything back for my purchase from October last year! Thanks again. Highly recommend.

Mark at York Vangarde was fantastically helpful and patient when my wife and I called in to buy running shoes. His product knowledge, and knowledge of physiology and running in general was reassuring as we are far from being experts. He explained the differences between shoes and was generous with his time as he went back to the store room for numerous different pairs. I would give him 10 stars if I could.
