Green & Black’s was founded on the Portobello Road by husband and wife team Craig Sams & Jo Fairley. In 1991 Craig was sent a sample of chocolate by a peanut supplier. Lifetime chocoholic Jo later discovered the chocolate unattended and promptly ate it. She’d never tasted anything quite like it and was sure other chocolate fanatics would feel the same! And with that, the couple began making delicious chocolate

I will never buy green + black again…

I will never buy green + black again after finding a small maggot inside the chocolate! I bought as a gift from Sainsbury's + was disgusted + embarrassed when she was eating them + found it! I will try to post them film we took before throwing them all in bin.

Lead 140% Cadmium 181%

Unacceptable! Shocked that the 85% dark has the most heavy metals of all the chocolate that Consumer Reports tested.
1ounce, just a few squares in their meagre bar has 143% lead and 181% cadmium. The report came out in 2023. It’s well above safe limits and the company should be fined.

Thanks to Becky for helpful customer service

Was so happy to have found the website to order my favorite chocolate - 85%. When I ran into web issues, Becky Dobson was incredibly prompt and responsive in helping resolve my order issues. She was knowledgeable, efficient and quite pleasant.

Can no longer trust Green & Blacks…

Can no longer trust Green & Blacks quality control - i have been addicted to G&B's organic milk choc bars for years long before they sold out to cadbury's but recently i have been receiving varying tastes in this bar i buy the 90g and typically buy 15 bars (full box at a time) i consume 1 or 2 bars a day (expensive habit i know) i typically buy direct from their site on amazon or from tesco's occasionally from another online site's if i see offer's on. I would say for around a year now i have noticed inconsistencies with the taste some packs will be fine as they should be some will have a darker slightly burnt after taste like the bar's have been spoilt somehow which when i pay around £34 a box of 15 is not good enough, i have been eating this bar for over 20 years when it was owned by the original owners Craig Sams and Jo Fairley in that time i have NEVER had this issue only for the last year.
I wrote to complain sending a box back to G&B's with a letter written on the back of a M&S Italian Choc bar which aren't bad actually but not quite as good as the G&B's but they never even wrote back which shows to me how bothered they are and why i have written here.
So far this and last year i have bought around 100 bars with this off spoilt taste from various places:
4 full boxes from amazon (one of which i received a full refund for after making a complaint with amazon)
Around 30-40 bars bought from tesco's, 3 bars i bought online from Dolphin fitness all 3 had this taste, they do not all have this taste it seems certain batches it is like playing russian roulette with them you now never know if one will be ok or not, i do not know why they have gone like this as i got no reply from them, they may have changed their choc suppliers or changed their recipe or process but it is enough for me now to stop buying them which is a shame as for me i can not find another choc bar i like as much it was the best quality choc bar i could find here in the UK by a long way, sadly no more.

I just tried the new 'smooth' 50% dark…

I just tried the new 'smooth' 50% dark chocolate. So disappointing, it's really waxy and tasteless. Reminded me of dark chocolate from the bad old days, when all you could get was Bourneville.

Web ordering broken

I've used Green & Blacks before, although a while ago.

I've tried to order three times now, but they've changed their systems.

To log in you have to provide a username and password (fine) and tick the "I am not a robot" box. Sigh.

When checking out I again have to check another "I am not a robot" box. This would normally simply be annoying and totally superfluous as I couldn't have got here without usename / password / checkbox already.

However by the time I have gone through Lloyds Bank's telephone authorisation process the "I am not a robot" box has timed out.

If I try again the same thing happens.

So I can't place an order.

Woeful.

Great service from Becky on Chat

I had an issue with placing an order for drinking chocolate. Having tried several times and trying 2 cards to make the payment, I resorted to the Chat. Becky responded quickly and promptly gave me a suggestion which solved the problem. Excellent service!
I must add though that the drinking chocolate is not as good as it used to be; however, it is still better than the alternatives, which we find all too sweet.

Lovely chat experience

Becky was extremely helpful and answered my query straight away, this was a new experience for me regarding chat sites!!!

We love Green & Black chocolate

We love Green & Black chocolates. I often order these for family who always get very excited when they arrive. Usually, we have no issues with deliveries but we did yesterday. Thankfully Becky Dobson at G&B managed the issue via LiveChat and handled the problem quickly and effectively. Excellent customer service from Becky and I really appreciate your help today. Green & Black chocolate is amazing and such a great treat to send someone via the G&B website.

Green and Blacks 70% was my goto…

Green and Blacks 70% was my goto chocolate bar for many years. I was sceptical as to what would become of the once premium brand since the government sell out of Cadbury to Kraft. Unfortunately the chocolate is now more reminiscent of cooking chocolate.
All Green & Blacks products ruined by corporate greed. What a surprise. No more G&B for me or you unless your baking a cake !!!

Great Customer service - Becky

Ordered a thank you gift set but they accidentally shipped the I love you gift set. Slightly awkward to give to a work colleague.

I got in touch with the customer service and Becky sorted out the replacement to be sent right away.

Customer service 5*. Just need to sort out shipping the right items now

Soy lethicin a main ingredient now if…

HIGH IN LEAD!!
HIGH IN CADIUM!!!!
I had an extremley bad reaction to this chocolate , chronic anxiety and irregular heartbeat which I found out was down to this chocolate!!!
If I'd of known an organic chocolate would make me sick I'd of stayed well away!!
Soy lethicin also a main ingredient now if you know what soy does to your health you wouldn't be paying for this which is classed as an organic product.

When you pay for organic you also pay for the trust that there's nothing in there that's bad for you, with soy/lead/cadmium being high in this food I'd reccomend you stay away and throw your bars in the bin immediately!!!!!

Tried them all and safe to say it's all
disgusting , the white one tastes like plastic with a slight chocolate taste and the dark tastes foul to the point my family member who loves dark chocolate spat It out.

I would highly recommend you stay away if you care for your health because clearly this company owned by NESTLE doesn't care!!!!
