Not so useful actually, I hardly get any good deals that I can use for my hobbies related purchases and am very let down by this site.
Beware of Chinese electronics.
This company has become ubiquitous of late, and I bought a cat scarer from them. It was not well designed, no batteries, and to load them you have to unscrew four tiny fiddly ones. When I got it loaded I checked it, and it was working, so I put it in position. The next day it was completely dead. No problem, send it back- until you read the return policy. First you have to ring them at 13p a minute, then you have to pay £4.25 for a courier. Not worth it, and having been there before, they would make some excuse not to pay. For me, groupon can groupoff.
Worst customer service ever.
Worst customer service I've ever experienced.Bough a garden swing chair, opened it saw dirty marks on canopy and two small tears. Pretty sure this was factory seconds but not sold as such. Contacted Groupon ,offered me £23.99 credit note and keep the seat. Not lawful.Merchant should offer full refund and free returns on damaged goods. Wanted me to pay for return to Switzerland even though it was dispatched from Suffolk! Several emails later agreed to collect. However, no tracking number as I wouldn't be the courier's customer therefore no refund from PayPal and don't trust Groupon to refund me. Am going to sell it myself. Stay away from this company. One of the most stressful weeks of my life. Can't afford to lose £120.00. Plus, these emails are dealt with in India so responses come in the early hours of the morning.

I bought a glass blowing experience from Riddack in NH FOR 2 for my daughter for Xmas present. I booked the event for 2 months later. The day before our appointment the place called and cancelled us saying Groupon never paid them. Groupon finally gave us a refund after trying to give me a credit. I fought them tooth and nail. I didn’t want no credit. I will never use Groupon again. I tried to leave the review on Groupon but they won’t allow you to leave negative reviews

Having ordered a seven piece baking set and received only one item , I reordered the set (because I really liked it) and I am in the process of returning the original item for a refund. The second ‘set’ arrived today, once again it contained only ONE item - this time so badly packed it was broken into several pieces. Groupon have offered me a refund of £6 and I can keep the item?!? Why would I want to keep a ceramic baking dish broken into three pieces? Obviously I’m returning it all for a full refund, but Groupon really need to invest in UK based customer services who have the authority and flexibility to deal efficiently with customer queries.
Sub-standard electrical goods
In the past few months I have bought 2 electrical items - an air fryer and soup maker. both were not working. I was given an immediate refund for the air fryer and told to keep the one that did not work (very inconvenient as I have a very small kitchen and have been in isolation since March). I have to print a label to return the soup maker - I am still in isolation and no facility to print the label so cannot return it. They have extended the return period to 31.01.21 but this is not good enough as I will be without the product and not able to afford another until I get my money back. I have to wonder whether Groupon are selling electrical items so cheaply because they simply do not work and are sub-standard.

Ordered a hedgehog house. It arrived with a nail sticking out the side - obviously I don’t want to injure an animal with a faulty damaged home that could impale it when it goes for refuge. Emailed several times for help to be told I had no other option but to either take it to the post office at a cost to my time and petrol bill or take the day off work for a collection as they couldn’t do one on a Sunday as basically they do not want the cost but would rather it cost me their customer a day’s wages. I would recommend not to order from Groupon as I took this to higher management and a customer service advisor told me to basically put myself out as a cost to myself to return. Horrendous really given I didn’t send someone out a hedgehog wildlife torture house complete with nail for impairing wildlife. Cost me as well???!!! Lovely.

It took a while to learn my lesson, as Groupon use shiny adverts and exploit the human addiction for discounts and 'deals'. Nothing purchased via Groupon has lasted more than a week. I actually received a broken toy and as expressed by other customers getting a refund is near impossible.

Ordered a bed Washington Double in Velvet Grey.
What was delivered in 2 parts was a Slate Grey Fabric Headboard Colour Code Grey 1989 and Velvet Grey Sides Colour Code 1688. Colour wise not what was ordered (well the sides were) not the headboard as all should have match. In addition.... no foot board to join in all together, no fixings and no slats!!!
Contacting Groupon is a nightmare. DM on social media only. Takes ages to respond and when they do it is generic canned responses most of the time not from the U.K.
Offered to collect and then once returned refund could take up to 14 days. Asked for 3 collection dates in next 7 days which were provided, these had been taken! was asked for 3 more and these were taken then they stated collection could be 3rd August which i accepted. Then this date couldn't be arranged but my details will be sent to courier and they would contact me... time frame 'unknown'....
So right now Groupon have kind of washed their hands. I'm waiting on a courier service with half of a bed which is mismatched.
As i mentioned 1 star is generous.

incompetent
I booked a spa experince in Novemer for my sisters 40th Birthday in May this year. Due to covid it was rearranged. However the company have moved premises and can no longer fulfil the agreement, Groupon have refunded the payment as a credit on my account, even though I paid by credit card. I have emailed numerous times, and i just get an automated response saying it has been refunded. So if i don't get it back to my card soon, I am going to have to get some advice because I'm sure they are not allowed to do this. And I will not be using Groupon again that is for sure.

Ordered a mattress from Groupon in January. It is now lumpy and sagging in the middle 7 months later. They will not refund. I think this issue needs to go to trading standards as we must have some comeback regarding clearly substandard products

Groupon is deceiving you to buy things from them. Bad quality items purchased from them, and the price is not low at all. Not happy with the customer service, they are not helpful at all. Don’t buy anything from Groupon!

I have printed of a label to send back but dont know where to take a heavy package . They say its royal mail .. I cant carry this parcel but cant get to speak to someone who will arrange a courier to come and collect .. dont think I will use groupon again

Groupon have delivered a damaged item. You cannot get hold of them and they don’t reply to emails.

Don't buy anything from Groupon ever.
Buying from Groupon is like throwing your money in the bin. Their products are not fit for purpose, they make your life hell when you complain, and you never, ever get a refund. Plus, I was blocked from posting a bad review about the product. If you're disabled or vulnerable, then Groupon make your life even worse. They will never speak to you by phone and nothing is their fault. I recorded the two phones calls I got after 2 months. Appalling.
