Very poor service
I agree with a previous comment (by Peter Petkov). I called H2 as my boiler light was flashing and the boiler switched itself off sporadically. H2 DID inform me over the phone about the rate (£85+VAT), however they specifically DID NOT inform me that this charge would be payable even if there is nothing H2 could do about the problem.
The engineer diagnosed that a service was due, which he couldn’t complete because he didn’t have the necessary parts (took less than 10min). H2 charged me £104 for that. I believe I described the problem over the phone to H2 in a way that a skilled person should have known that my boiler needed a service and would have brought the part in the first place. Also a professional person would have than offered to complete the job later and charge for the time spend for both jobs together. However that didn’t happen either. In my opinion, H2 did not use reasonable care and skill when they provided this “service”. In fact, I feel they cheated their way to quick £104. Very disappointed!!!

efficient, thorough, professional, and effective
We had a leaking restrictor valve on our gas fire. The engineer was prompt at 8.01, and was efficient, thorough, professional, and effective not only at mending the fault but inspecting the rest of the appliance and testing our supply for any other possible problem. Would use them again and recommend them
Great customer service
We had a leak coming through our bathroom floor and contacted H2 Plumbing who responded very quickly and were able to come that afternoon (after being told it would be appx 3 days from other plumbers). The plumber was very polite and friendly. Unfortunately the issue wasn’t initially fully resolved but H2 immediately offered me a full refund which was beyond my expectation. Their customer service was excellent and sets them apart from most businesses I’ve dealt with in the past and would not hesitate to use them again.
Bad experience with this company
Bad experience with this company. They took payment from my credit card without authorisation, for an incompetent and overpriced job. This is totally unacceptable, and I would not recommend anyone use this company.
The job was to replace a switch with a timer. The wiring was in the wall, and could have been re-used. Instead surface mounted cables were added, one of which was not even in casing and left exposed, coming out of the switch and into the timer. The company just did the quickest and easiest thing for them, with no consideration for quality or safety. Furthermore, they were not interested in discussing this because they had already taken payment from my card using stored data from an earlier job - this is an unauthorised payment.

The best plumbers I have ever used
The best plumbers I have ever used. I cannot recommend this company enough. Although I only contacted them about a broken shower they went on to fix the really weak water pressure problem in my daughters flat. Richard was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and fast.
Avoid like the plague!
Nothing that they state on their website is true.
They charged £ 104.- a rate for 1 hour +VAT when the visit was for 15 min just to state the obvious and say that the spare part is not available. Website states Call out charge and problem diagnostics is free - well, it was not. Now they want to charge another 2 HOURS + VAT + parts to do a simple water tank valve replacement job.

Fast, efficient, intelligent and polite.
I called with an annoying and difficult set of symptoms on my fire alarms. I was answered swiftly and politely, instantly offered an appointment within two hours. The chap arrived and listened carefully and intelligently. He then set about his work. after a few minutes he had identified the problem, gone off to get parts and carried out the works. he then tidied up and left. No fuss, no bother just calm efficiency. More like this please.
Installment of washing machine &solving blocked pipe
I saw the van "MY PLUMBER" from the bus and gave Tash a ring the very day, The arrangement was made and Galway came on time the very next
day.
I needed to have the pipe unblocked.Next day The Plumber came and sorted out my pipes.

H2 is very well priced, the engineers are courteous and clean.
Their administrative staff is quite helpful and answer in a timely manner.
Thank you!
efficient and effective
I have used H2 numerous times and have always found them to be very good and their service/after care always "on the money". Our boiler wasn't broken but was in need of a service. They attended site, couldn't get access to the boiler due to the boxing, left site, told me what I needed to do, didn't charge us and returned within 12 hours of us getting the work done to enable them to complete the service. Excellent service. Thoroughly recommend.
Great service.
First rate - price paid is price quoted - not ripped off for parts and the chaps left the flat immaculate. Am very happy - I won't use anyone else going forward.
Very disappointed - no better than any of the other cowboys
H2 fitted a new Vaillant boiler for me in September of last year. 14 months later (on a Friday night of course) it collapsed. I rang H2 on Saturday as I was sure I would get a good service, having had a less than helpful experience with Vaillant itself. I told H2 the error code on the call and the engineer was booked and he came round, very pleasant, but told me 'this shouldn't have happened to a new boiler like this' and rang Vaillant technical services. He then told me that is should after all be covered by warranty and wished me good luck and left. I rang H2 immediately to say that I didn't believe I should pay for an engineer to come round and just ring Vaillant. They promised to ring me back but didn't and the next thing I get is an invoice. when I rang to challenge this I was given far more information / justification for the charges than I got from the engineer and even told that they could have fixed it at a second visit but eventually a point blank refusal to discuss anything further. Apparently all this was doing me some sort of favour. It would seem that H2 are actually no better than any of the other cowboys around and I am £156 poorer with no working boiler.

I trust H2 Property Services
H2 quoted and installed a new boiler for us (Ronan was the installation engineer).
Basically the advice was definitive and helpful. The quote was very competitive (but without any dodgy shortcuts that accompanied other quotes).
The work was delivered on time (in fact, ahead of schedule), and to a high standard. My wife was kept informed regularly of progress throughout the work, and the area was cleared and tidied after installation.
The work was done diligently. Basically it was EXACTLY what we wanted. A highly professional job done, with minimum fuss and transparency and certainty over the cost.
There were no "unexpected" incremental charges - we paid exactly what was in the quote.
Basically you can spend a lot of time shopping around for offers, but I would strongly, strongly recommend going to H2 early on. Their price is good and they deliver what they say. I trust them.
Trust and Support for H2 Property Services restored
Edit: 12 Nov 2015 - H2 Properties made good on their offer to do the service at a reduced price a week after the original service - see original post further down. Our household have used them several times before for Gas service and also to install new fire and heat alarms throughout. The Gas engineer as before (I now request the same engineer every time) was friendly, competent and personable. The Electrician that installed the fire alarms in the past was friendly and performed his duties quickly and competently. I could not fault either on their work or post work cleanup.
The company services was good enough in the past that I have recommended their service to a neighbor and this I know resulted in them being appointed for the replacement of a gas boiler because the elderly neighbor wanted trustworthy service. This happened at the same time I had the unfortunate experience of H2 staff NOT recording my booked appointment correctly as set out below in the original post.
I retain the original complaint bellow as a reminder to all to make sure that when booking a service and or repairs that you confirm with H2 staff the details of the booking by making them reading it back and confirming that this is a combined service and/or repair.
Sadly they miss out on a 5th star as their much mentioned "terms and conditions" during my experience set out below is still not prominently displayed on their website. In fact, I still can not find it. Also, their handling of the original complaint has not been in any way geared towards customer satisfaction. I resent to have to resort to bad reviews before good, proactive service is offered.
Having said that: Apart from the experience below, I have had only good competent attendance from the company and have no reservation recommending their services and will use them again.
-----------------Original Post start here---------------------
Original Heading: Disappointing before and after "service" assistance. (never got the service in the first place)
Booked a (gas)boiler service 3 weeks ago for Monday 5 October 2015 noting at the time that the boiler-timer has perished and will need replacing providing the make and model. Thought we finally found someone that is trustworthy and ethical. Doesn't suck in the air between teeth and then expand on how expensive it is going to be, or which regulation could have been misinterpreted by the 9 previous Gas engineers and threaten to switch off the entire system as a result of this supposed transgression, doesn't wast time in order to milk us and is engaging and pleasant without being cheesy.
Surprise! No, they can only do one thing at a time. But this is not communicated at the time of making the booking. Replacing the timer involved unplugging a simple 4 prong unit from the face of the boiler, takes 20 min to leave and purchase a new one and return and plugs it in.
Cost of unit + £95.00 (their hourly rate) thank you very much. so far so good, no complaint.
"So, are you going to service the boiler? " I ask.
"No, you have to book another appointment" the engineer says.
So today I phone their office and enquire, why if I booked a service, did I only get the timer replaced.
"Ah sir," (after phoning back having investigated this) "even if this was booked back to back you would still have to pay the service fee of £95.00 + £95.00 for the timer replacement + cost of timer because we do not combine this in one visit."
"Really?" I say - "this makes no sense. Surely you can do both and charge me the time it takes"
"Oh, it is in our terms and conditions sir.."
So I go and look at their website:
Can't find where this T's & C's document is hidden on their website, nor was it emailed in advance, nor was it sent with the emailed invoice. But what I do find is this statement: " Standard hourly-rate work quoted below is charged as a minimum of one hour charge for the first hour and thereafter in quarter-hour increments"
So which is it then - you can charge me for a service and add on 15 min to 30 min worth of time for the timer replacement (A service has never taken more than an hour) and charge me the time for this OR you can't because your impossible-to-find terms and conditions state that I need to book two separate services?
Now this is the rub - They are supposed to be a trusted WHICH? service provider and proudly display this on their website. Seems to me that WHICH? trust them to rip you off by milking you for every penny possible when a single visit could have resolved all, added value by charging for 15 to 30 min more and would have cemented brand loyalty.
Not happy and in search of a new service provider. Brand loyalty having left the building. For good....

Three different engineers, all fantastic
I called out H2 on a Sunday to deal with an emergency leak. While the plumber was here, I mentioned some other problems to do with my boiler and sump pump and he arranged for an electrician and boiler engineer to come out later in the week. All the engineers I dealt with were polite, friendly, clearly knowledgeable and very kind (the electrician arranged for the pump manufacturer to come out to my property once it became clear that merely restoring power did not fix the problem). I will continue to use them without hesitation!
Fast response and fixed our problem!
We have used H2 on a number of occasions for plumbing and electrical services. Today they provided a plumber at short notice to fix a leak in our kitchen. They rectified the problem and helped me solve a longer standing issue with our kitchen tap.
I have always found their service prompt and totally reliable. And all the engineers have been extremely competent, pleasant to deal with and trustworthy.
H2 are my first choice call if I have any kind of issue in our house.
Disappointing
We called out an H2 plumber to carry out two jobs. The first he claimed was impossible (however a subsequent plumber we called out managed the job with no problems) and we have suffered a leak as a result of the other, which has caused substantial damage to our floors and walls. We have tried to resolve the matter with the company and were initially told that our builder must have sabotaged the plumbing and were then subjected to an angry and abusive rant. Apparently the work is guaranteed for one year but the company has refused to engage with us about this. We fully understand that issues can arise but the mark of a professional company is that they are courteous and reasonable in trying to resolve matters - unfortunately in our experience H2 are neither.
Perhaps time spent replying vindictively and unpleasantly to online reviews would be better spent providing customer service when an issue does arise. As another reviewer pointed out, H2 are not willing to ever admit to mistakes, which is disappointing.

On Time, On Budget and a pleasure to deal with
Very impressed with the service received from H2 Property Services. We had a major leak in our kitchen plumbing and from our first contact with H2 they dealt with the matter professionally, with very upfront discussions with their plumber on the likely cause, stabilisation of the problem, and then a longer term fix. All work completed on time and to their original quote, and the plumber was very flexible fitting around our diaries.
Not to be trusted
I had a leaking shower and explained the nature of the problem over the phone. I phoned a number of companies some of which did not charge for a diagnosis but because I was advised that H2 was available at short notice and could repair on site I opted for them. I was advised that they fully understood the problem and would send over someone to diagnose and repair on site the problem at a designated rate per hour.
Besides arriving late (I had to keep phoning them to find out where their so called plumber was), the H2 representative arrived (on foot from across a park) with a bag of few tools (that made my tool box at home look like a tool box to fix the Space Shuttle). When I asked what he would do if he needed access to replacement seats and springs or washers for example) he replied that he had all he needed.
I have my doubts as to whether he is a quailed plumber as he did not know what to do as even tried to lift off the shower chrome plate off although the shower faucets (on/off cartridge) were placed on top of the plate. The consequence is that the plate is now slightly bent. Frustrated, he took some pictures including of the details of the make and model of the shower that I had in my possession and which I offered to give over the phone and he left after 5 minutes. For this I was charged £98 (including VAT)which was for the diagnosis of the problem and an estimate of up to £372 for the repair work. I will complete this when I get an estimate for the work from another plumbing company.
When I tried to complain about the poor service and its related cost and was interrupted while trying to complete my complaint, I was lectured to and told that it mattered not if it took 5 minutes to do the diagnosis or an hour and they had to do the diagnosis first. No attempt to apologise for the poor service or to negotiate on the repair work. So what are the lessons learnt

Excellent experience with H2 Property Services
Excellent professional customer service! I have just used H2 to service my boiler which was showing a fault on front panel and not giving me any hot water. From start to finish, my whole contact with the company was excellent. The chap who came was helpful and obviously very experienced and sorted out the problem in no time. Their office then sent me an invoice and made the whole process professional and hassle-free. A relief in a minefield of unknown plumbing companies.
I will definitely recommend to friends.
