Took my x3 for service and found I…
Took my x3 for service and found I needed 4 new tyres which I was aware of. They quoted me £400 more than what Nat tyres and kwik fit would charge. No problem said Mile W the service rep we will sort out some monies off. Sent him a text again this morning with prices I could get the tyres for but they went ahead and fitted. I had a rant when I went to pick up the car and he knocked of £140 but when I got home that wasn’t the case and was only £60 more fool me for not checking.Absolute “bankers” steer clear rip off merchants
Emailed Halliwell Jones Chester…
Emailed Halliwell Jones Chester yesterday to arrange a test drive on Volvo xc90, got a reply from David Mai with a video of said car which I didn’t ask for. And let me know if you need anything else. I replied I would like to arrange a test drive, no reply. I phoned today and spoke to a nice lady who said she would get David to call me back to arrange a test drive, the call never came. Looks like I’ll have to go somewhere else to buy my next car, after reading the reviews I think I’ve dodged a bullet.
Test drive = no drive!
Visited the sales room in the hope of booking a test drive of various BMW electric vehicles. We were told there were none on site but that they could arrange for some vehicles to be delivered for us. Three weeks on and haven’t heard a peep! Makes us think that when the salesman asked were we business or personal purchasers, that maybe we would have had a better service had we replied business……
Purchase of Used Triumph
Recently purchased a used Triumph. Spoke with Gareth, who was exceptionally helpful with answering all my queries. He explained that the bike was in excellent condition and sent a video. Arranged for the bike to be delivered by Karl on a Saturday. Once delivered and checked over, the bike was as described. Thank you both to Gareth and Karl.
Very good and friendly when you come…
Very good and friendly when you come there for usual services. Once something need to be done after - terrible experience. On vehicle inspection they told I need to change wheel and tyre and they will send me the estimation on this and other parts. But after that weeks passed already, they ignore any letters, advisor doesn't pick up the phone. Call center promising they will send the details "later today" everytime I call and obviously keep ignoring. Complete nonsense assuming that's their money i'd pay them if they just give the prices right?
At the end very unreliable service who doesn't care. I would not recommend
Fantastic service
I just part exchanged my vehicle for a BMW at Halliwell Jones Chester. It was such an easy, stress-free experience. From the minute I walked in the receptionist offered my a lovely coffee. The sales reps were helpful but not pushy. Micheal Pinto my sales rep was absolutely fantastic. Great communication throughout the whole process. He was sending me updates and videos of when the car would be ready to collect. Even the finance guy was great!
I've already said I'll see them in a couple of years when I upgrade.
10 out of 10.
My car was called for a EGR Recall
My car was called for a EGR Recall, to which the EGR valve had to be replaced 3 times.
Up on collecting on the final replacement of the EGR, the vehicle displayed a drivetrain error so I used an OBD Reader to discover the error which was EGR Related.
The o2 sensor was then replaced as they deemed it had failed, although misread the error leading to also having the EGR cooler changed.
This then failed AGAIN, having to return to the garage for the 4th time over two months to replace the egr valve and cooler again.
The halliwell jones Chester branch is nothing short of poor vehicle repair management, communication to customers, lack of judgement and responsibility for the defective repairing of vehicles.
Due to the on going issues relating to this, the DSC unit on the vehicle then failed, all since being recalled as an emergency as the car was taken away by Halliwell jones roadside at the beginning of June, and was not returned until 10th of September.
Possibly the worst experience I have ever experienced with any garage I have been too.
All of the above issues then lead me to reach the point of having enough, to which I had to sell the vehicle as it then went into limp mode, a failed DSC unit, a misdiagnosed error digressed into many worsened issues causing me to HAVE to sell my vehicle.
Con artists
My car has had egr recall three times now, just had message on cars idrive system that there maybe egr leak and to book it in immediately phoned halliwell jones they said theres no recall on this part now, they would look at car but if it turns out it is something else then i would be charged, this part was only changed two months ago, this is a part which has major design flaws , yet they want to charge me to look at there faulty part ,when car goes in they do a health check , last time it went in they said three of the tyres were damaged with cuts down to the threads in two off them, the car was due an mot so checked there so called cuts , absolute joke there was a 3mm nick in one nowhere near the threads and couldn't even find other damage they were talking about, they kindly offered to do the work, for people who know nothing about cars would have happily been conned out of hundreds of pounds, check before you let them do any work, con artists
Bought my approved used car 5*

IServicing took my mini for an MOT and service…
I took my mini for an MOT and service and what followed was a string of poor communication, poor customer service and a huge waste of my time causing me much inconvenience. Noone seemed to care or acknowledge. I would use a local garage over the dealership anytime...better service and price.

We took our car for a free warranty check and 1st MOT.
We told BMW about a couple of faults and left the car there. When my girlfriend went to pick up the car is when things went wrong. Several things had been flagged on the warranty check but not fixed, the faults we pointed out were not dealt with satisfactorily and my girlfriend was told "they're fine" which they were not. The MOT was failed on tyres that were less than 8 months old. My girlfriend was told the tyres were dangerous and would need 2 new tyres at a cost of nearly £600. My girlfriends father (Mr tyres) worked for Michelin tyres for 34 years and went to inspect the "faulty tyres" and found no fault. Displeased with the service, attitude and dishonesty of BMW halliwell Jones Chester I took my car to another BMW dealership where they told me the tyres were fine and asked why non of the warranty work flagged on the halliwell jones report had been done.
I feel that BMW halliwell Jones acted in a dishonest, misogynistic and discriminatory way when they saw my girlfriend drop off and pick the car and "tried it on" to rip us off as they had done free work and had to make up some fault to get their money back.
This dishonest behaviour is against the law, sexist behaviour towards my girlfriend is unacceptable. When you buy a BMW and spend a lot of money doing so you expect much better customer service.
It's nice having a BMW but it's awful dealing BMW halliwell jones chester. I'll go elsewhere for my next car.
Sharp practice felt belittled
Gareth the salesman was great agreed a price and part ex change - rode 250 miles to collect new bike then Louis the sales manager try’s to justify the part ex price is now £750 lower - very sharp practice, felt quite belittled - avoid
Extremely unhappy and feel miss sold…
Extremely unhappy and feel miss sold the vehicle, and surprisingly on one is available to contract me now.
Please do not use, unethical sells
Manipulative and dishonest
I found the service department manipulative and dishonest and they failed to do the work that had been booked in, citing “technical problems”. I was also told at the service centre that it would cost a minimum of £156 to diagnose why the parking sensor wasn’t working. Quite ridiculous.
This place is like Fred Karno’s circus
This place is like Fred Karno’s circus. Each time I have been there it’s never been straight forward always frustrating problems on their behalf. I would never take my car again unless it’s for warranty job
Dishonest Salesman
I'm currently trying to sell my Mini I bought in Jan 2020. Nothing wrong with my mini, I've had another baby and need a bigger car.
I was sold my Mini at Halliwell Jones 2 Mills site by a Paul. I was sold it on the basis that it had had a full service just before purchase. THIS WAS A LIE.
I can no longer sell this on as a full service was not done, when I was told it was and was then due on the schedule MINI dictates (which was in COVID when everyone was closed), unless I sell it for below market value....of course.
This company are liars and I am now stuck with an expensive car that is not for our family.
Car went in for a recall
Car went in for a recall. Service was excellent from start to finish. No added extras. Happy customer
Buying the car was a great experience
Buying the car was a great experience. Since then, no one replies to emails, no one phones back when they say they will and if you complain it gets escalated to more senior people who don't reply to emails. If you want a mini do get one but I'd be exceptionally wary of buying any service that requires you to interact with them once it has been driven off the forecourt.
Before deciding to write this I:
Phoned asking to book my car in for a valet. I was told they weren't sure if they did the valets they told me I was entitled to when I bought the car but would check and call me back. They never called back.
I emailed after I'd scratched the boot of the car. I received a reply to say they'd be in contact in 4 hours. They never did.
When the car was due a service I let mini know about my previous 2 experiences. I was told the free valets were "just a wash and vac" giving the impression that it was OK to miss out on them because they were a bit crap.
I complained and a very nice man apologised, offered money off the service and said he'd make sure did what they said from now on. I emailed to book it in. I never got a reply.
Great car, woeful aftercare.
No communication what so ever try somewhere else
No communication what so ever ! Do not return calls or emails , such a shame as have lovely product . Told could collect car one day , sorted insurance etc then said it wasn’t ready ! ( had to pay insurance swap over fee ) car was in north wales still waiting to be transported ,I no this as I phoned north wales dealership . Honesty would have been good as it would have not been a problem . Called yesterday to be told it would be ready some time this week . Helpful when you work full time . Help !!!!
