No issues with the pick up or drop off of the vehicle. While there were more dings and marks on the vehicle than I am used to for a Hertz rental, nothing that affected the drivability of the vehicle.

Hertz reported damage after the fact
Hertz reported damage after the fact, 3.5 hrs later, from video. It looks like dirt on the tire rim. Since I had already left Maui by plane it was impossible to check it, and at no time did I hit anything. I don’t understand why the ai couldn’t’t provide an immediate alert to allow my inspection. So I suspect the possibility it could be a scam. I’ll have to pay the $495 for a scratch on the tire rim but I’ll never know the truth.

Car was little dirty
Car was little dirty, not the level expected from Hertz. Windows inside were dirty and outside you can see the dry drops from the wash, including the rear view mirrors. I had to clean it myself for safety reasons because it was difficult to see especially when you had the sun in front.

Good selection of cars and clean cars. We had a bad wiper blade on the drivers side.

Waited in lines for 90 minutes
There was one person working the counter and at least 20 groups of people waiting. It took an hour to get through that line. Then we waited again in the garage area to get a car for at least 30 minutes. We had everything entered online ahead of time, including license uploaded and options selected. It seems we should have been able to skip the counter entirely. The only positive was that we were able to easily go online later to extend our rental by two days.
