I booked an appointment with this company for 10 o'clock this morning. 'Pete' arrived this morning spot on 10, he spent a while giving us a brief history of the company and a brief history of himself. He then asked why he was here and how he could help. In our case we needed the cavity wall insulation checking prior to a heat pump installation. Pete was very thorough and even checked for any damp issues (With our blessing). At the end of the survey we had no issues to be concerned about. Pete was a very upstanding type of gent, offered some advice, and put our minds at rest.

I had a home visit for a survey with Pete today. Pete arrived on time although we couldn’t continue with a full survey due to other concerns Pete gave some very useful information and was able to signpost me for next steps.

This company does not know how to communicate with its customers.
We had to chase them just to confirm the date for the work, even though the surveyor had already given us a date when he attended the property. He took a call on speaker and booked it in whilst sat in our living room. Despite having taken our deposit, four follow up phone calls later — with no one able to help — I finally received a call the day before the work was supposed to take place, telling me it actually hadn’t been booked in at all. We had already taken time off work to be at the property so we've lost a day's pay.
When the work was eventually rebooked, we were never told when the scaffolders would arrive or that we needed to be at home while they worked. They showed up without notice, completely derailing my partner’s day as he had to stay home until they finished. To make matters worse, they put most of the scaffolding on our neighbour’s property — something we would absolutely have warned our neighbours about about if we’d been given the chance.
It’s now been three weeks since the work was completed, and the scaffolding is still there, with no sign of being removed. We’ve chased multiple times and been promised things like, “It’ll be gone by the weekend”, yet nothing has happened.
I can’t speak to the quality of the actual work — the team who did our damp course were pleasant — but the sheer lack of competent communication has completely soured our experience with this company.
We've never had any formal written confirmation of the work they undertook - despite repeated asks for this to be sent via email. Frustrating.
The team arrived within the times stated. They worked well, cleaned up after themselves and left a great job.
The team were very friendly and helpful, explaining what they were doing along the way.
Thank you Craig, Dec, Carl, Tony,Fran, Kai and Steve. (Hope I got the names right!) You all did a great job and it was nice meeting you.

A survey brought up that there was damp in the walls, from the moment we contacted Home Energy Save the service we received was excellent. We were able to book their survey the same day, Pete arrived on time, carried out the most thorough checks, explained about the whole world of damp, gave a price and even added the Blue Light Discount. Work was carried out by Ben exactly one week later, very tidy work, everything done properly and left clean.
Very impressed.

I was undergoing chemotherapy at the time and made a specific request for them to outline if any mess would be made as I was in no fit state to clean it up. I was told absolutely not! They would clean any mess made of which would be minimal.
The team destroyed brickwork, drilling holes for the dragging out of insulation and refilling with the modern stuff. They completed a damp proof course as well as the insulation. I had to ask them to fill all the holes. They were leaving saying it was all done and I had to ask “aren’t you going to fill them?” They reluctantly went to the van and returned with white putty to cover each hole (totalling about 25 around the home exterior including front elevation). When they left I saw the state of the walls, with bright white putty on a red/brown brick house with cream pointing.
Inside the house, an excess of old/new insulation had burst through my bath panel spreading dust and dirt and brick dust throughout the bathroom and adjoining rooms. 6 months later, feeling deeply resentful of the £1160 I had spent for this job I thought was essential for the maintenance of my home, I had to ask them back to repoint the mess they left, which they did. I told the two man team that arrived, that the holes were around the entire perimeter of the house. They showed me the front which looked ok, claiming that the pointing would dry to the same colour as mine, and hurried off.
When I looked around the house, they’d not even bothered with the rear of the house. 6 months later, this company were contacted again due to damp continuing and worsening with new areas in the home showing evidence of damp/rising damp, because as advised, I was told that if the damp course hadn’t worked (it could take up to a year to settle) they would come back and redo it free of charge.
It was then that I was told, only 1 year after the work was done at a considerable cost to me, that they had gone into administration and the person I was speaking to was a representative of a new company that had took on the name only so were liable for nothing.
I’d advise anyone needing work like this done to look for a huge National company that may be more expensive but less likely to rip you off in the long run like I was in Feb 2024
We had a free damp survey done, and it was a great experience. Peter quickly identified the issue and explained the cause clearly, along with practical solutions. There was no push for unnecessary work, and it turned out I didn’t need any services from them. Very helpful, honest, and professional. I highly recommend them!

We had damp proofing done just over 12 months ago. We contacted the company recently as when installed they promised a 12 month check to confirm the damp had gone (We are not sure the treatment has worked) and a 25-year guarantee of the work. We were advised the company had gone into liquidation. We were surprised to then see new reviews daily showing work is still being carried out with only a slight name change of the company (UK to GB). We tried to approach to see if our guarantee and check will be honoured. They confirmed it will not. Incredibly disappointing and unfair when the same people are clearly still trading under a different name. Be Wary.
The whole experience with Home Engery Save was simple. The survey was very informative, and all options explained in detail.
Matt and Craig completed the damp proof course, they were very efficient and tidied up after themselves, which is always appreciated.
There was a small issue with an area being missed off the plan/video, however Matt and Craig stayed late so the work could be completed.
I would happily recommend the company.

I had Pete come round from home energy save to look at moisture in the property, he told me everything was fixable by opening the windows and not leaving damp washing inside. Great advice and great service! Would recommend.

Just had woodworm and wet rot treatment done by Kevin and Ben. Both very helpful and polite. gave clear information and answered any queries we had. The work was done as agreed, on time and efficiently. An additional bonus - telephone calls to the office are always answered promptly, with any queries passed on to the relevant person who then calls back. Thank you!

Great workmanship, good communication, work completed as scheduled. Only negative would be lack of dust sheets on floor and fire place resulting a lot of cleaning!

I had a damp proof course work done in Dec 2024 and was manipulated towards signing the contract and paid £4000 for what should cover the whole area that has damp issues which was investigated and agreed
On the day the job started, they implemented a different solution different from what we initially agreed. Also, they left some items uncompleted which we initially agreed.
Two months later, my wall starts to bleed and paint peeling off massively. I reached out to them and after several attempts on email and phone calls, they sent someone down to inspect.
They are demanding additional over £4000 to fix their incomplete work and badly work done.
Run away from them, here are tricks they use:
1. They will call someone on the phone to pretend as if they want to get you a good deal from their senior management, all game. They will make it look like goodwill.
2. When the job starts, they will go against what you initially agreed with them. Since you had paid a deposit, you are tied in and forced to accept their proposal
3. After inspecting all the areas and lets say they come up with 20sqm. They will quote you for 10sqm and during the job you will have to start to argue this with the workers. They intentionally do this, so you think they are cheaper compared to other companies and this forced you to give the job to them thinking you had a great deal. And afterwards, they demand for additional thousands to cover the rest.
Basically, they are splitting the job that should be done as one into multiple to rip you off.
That's the situation am in with them currently.
Lastly, they continuously persuade you to leave them a good review on the last day of the job which I did, unknown to me that the result of their work was going to fail months later.
Had I read their reviews earlier, I wouldn't have given them the job.
This company is the biggest scam.
Their pushy sales tactics put me off but a call from their now owner somehow persuaded me to give them a chance.
The damp proof course was done almost 12 months ago and has completely failed. Sadly, the company liquidised under the old owner so my guarantee is worth nothing.
More sickeningly, I recommended a friend for their damp proof course about a month before the liquidisation happened. The salesman let on that the company was opening a new side of their branch and deliberated which one to invoice us for. We didn't know at the time that he picked the one doomed to be liquidised. Not only did they leave my friends house in a dangerous damaged mess, after they took his money he found he wasn't covered for a guarentee either.
Total cowboys and their complaints handling was gaslighting and insincere. Please avoid.
