If I could give this company 0 stars I would as they don’t even deserve 1 star ratings! This company are a bunch of cowboys no matter what job they do it’s never done properly, I’m sick of being mess... See more

IAN WILLIAMS LIMITED where contracted to paint our communal hallways they managed to ruin our new carpets due to no floor protection laid prior to work commencing.
Very very poor workmanship more paint on the carpets than the walls.
Over 25 areas on three levels of the building paint everywhere.
They then decided to return to remove the paint spilled over the carpets ( impossible to do ) they rubbed the carpets so hard back to the concrete underneath.
Cannot understand how MTVH has allowed this to be left in this condition.
If an operative from IAN WILLIAMS LIMITED would like to contact us it would be good.
Otherwise we shall keep spreading the word regarding the standard of works completed by IAN WILLIAMS LIMITED

Don't deserve a one star rating, absolute joke of a company, I am an o.a.p in an accent housing association property (equally a joke of a company) I reported a heating issue on 2nd December (to accent) had a call from Ian williams to say they would attend on 30th December, totally unacceptable to me so, after remonstrating with them they agreed (reluctantly) to attend on the 23rd, two men came round and fitted a new storage heater, they're crap when they do work, even more so when they don't, this one didn't so, here I am on 15th January 2025 still waiting for someone to show, bloody awful company
One of the worst contractors I've experienced. Total lack of communication, takes ages to get anyone out to do repairs, water leaking through a bedroom ceiling inches away from a mains installed carbon monoxide alarm isn't classed as an emergency, sub standard repairs done and whenever you phone up there is no helpful call handler unlike their predecessors. Only today I reported an emergency plumbing repair, they sent someone out who admitted he's not a proper plumber, as a result it's still waiting to be done. How they've still got the contract I'll never known as after asking around the general consensus is hardly anyone is happy with them or the standard of work.
Waited in today for this company to do some security upgrades at my property, on behalf of North Kesteven District Council (NKDC). After they didn't show up for the prebooked appointment I called them and they had no knowledge of my job, despite sending me text confirmation and 3 notification reminders of the appointment. Called NKDC to find out what was going on and they told me that Ian Williams had been to my property, but there was no answer. Furthermore, they had taken a photo of the external post box they had fitted next to my blue front door. When I calmly explained that my front door is actually white and these muppets had drilled and fitted a post box on some poor stranger's property (likely to be away for Christmas), there was a nervous reply, "I think there's been a mistake"...if you've come home to a post box fitted to your front wall, I can only apologise on behalf of these idiots and NKDC. Avoid these contractors and ask for some professionals!
This company has failed 3 times to turn up to deal with corroded kitchen tap inserts, tap replacements and a filter put in. I have cleared out my cupboards and waited in all day each time but no one has had the decency to communicate whatsoever. As a retired construction manager I would rate this company as a minus star rating. The workmanship I have had has been good but this company lets the tradesmen down. They will never get into my home again as I will not trust them to turn up or even communicate....Absolute disgrace.
These guys have just finished painting and maintenance to the outside of the building where I live - a Georgian property split into flats. The workmen have been friendly, respectful, diligent, really hardworking. They've answered questions with good humour. They found and fixed a leak which had been troublesome for years. I am so impressed with their work ethic and standards. Thank you one and all.
Fabulous company made everything go smoothly from ripping out the old wet room then installing the new wetroom to a high quality standard.
Had engineer from Aston branch called Pete very helpful more than I can say for the rest of the people sorted repair in good fashion too bloke
I was without water for 6 days as they only have apparently 2 plumbers trained to fix the boiler I have and both were away. I called to inform them of no hot water was told would be a 24hr call out nobody attended for 48hrs.
Great Friendly Electrician Pete from Ian Williams (Aston Birmingham) he was very professional and knowledgeable he knew what he was doing he tested my immersion heater and explained everything to me which I understood in plain English I am very happy with the job thanks Pete defo recommend Ina
House association hired these guys to paint out communal areas in RG30.
Have to interrupt thier boss and employee argument on my door step that has developed into a shout match.
No professionalism at all.
Now to make a complaint to my housing association that they would hire a 1.4 star rated team to work on our property. It's insulting.
Ian Williams sent someone out today to fix a leak check under the bath said it’s wet but couldn’t find anything. Friday 1 nov rang again got another 24 hr call Ian Williams. No show I rang their office I was told they only had my house as a call out in my area so they won’t be coming unless someone else needs help something as well ( in other words individuals are not important it just a pay day ) 72 hrs later Monday rang Stonewater Ollie rang them they said they had already been on Friday they lied . What it says on my home app the jobs open for today no one turned up surprised surprise it about time stonewater invested in some reliable contractors
Worst company I’ve ever known. Waited from 12 today for an appointment over a faulty shower I’ve had for months on end that’s caused floods. For them to call at 4pm to say they cannot come out today. They refuse to come on my days off at weekends and discriminate against my working schedule and expect me to take further days off work to accommodate yet another booking at a time that suits them. This doesn’t comply with equal rights. They’ve had all day to call and leave it until now. It’s not the first time if it was I wouldn’t be writing this review. I’ve had it with this company I really have. They constantly let me down. No shows are too frequent but I should be greatful as atleast this time they let me know eventually. They usually never bother and assume their time is more precious than yours. Joke!!!
Another shocking experience from Ian Williams.. cancelled appointments. Lies as to reasons why .
Replaced my mother in laws door recently, the young lad fitted it completely incorrectly, frames on the p*ss, then told her to close it she needs to physically lift the door up.. embarrassing.. freedom of information requested their council tender because this can't carry on and I'll happily make sure no other elderly ladies have to have such a shocking service from a terrible company
Awful is an understatement. I have no words to describe how disrespectful & useless these people are.
They sent an old man (that is well over retirement age) to repair a kitchen fan. He has been here more than 9 times now and on each occasion he’s removed the fan, measured and said I don’t have one that fits, fkd off, returned three or four weeks later and repeated everything. This has gone on for 6 months+
Each time he’s acted as if he’s never been here before. He never cleans up after himself either & Smells like he needs to change his incontinence pad. On one occasion my partner had to go up the ladder and finish fitting a smoke alarm as he couldn’t do it.
Stonewater have been ordered by environmental health to complete a number of repairs by a certain time. They haven’t and the repairs are still outstanding. They just keep booking it in with Ian Williams knowing full well it won’t get done. They’ve ignore all my complaints regarding them. All out of spite, so I can’t take further action.
They belittle and stigmatise people and think they can get away with it “just because we’re social housing tenants”
Ive now cancelled all appointments that have been made and will not allow Ian Williams into my flat as I cannot afford to keep taking time off to wait around on these incompetent morons & I’m sick of having to clean up after them!
They also burnt my carpet in the hallway. They painted an old front door, instead of waiting for each coat to dry, he plugged a convector heater into my electric (without asking) to attempt to dry the paint. The heater caught fire and burned my carpet. Did they pay for the damage? No they fkng didn’t.
They was told to “replaster” a wall. The job description was to hack off blown plaster and replace with new plaster. Simple instructions no?
He went straight over the blown plaster and half way up the wall. Left it like that and said that’s all he’s doing. Never returned to prime it or paint it.
They removed all the upstairs heaters (I have a child) and left us with no heating source for almost a year! It’s always colder inside this flat than outside in the winter. So imagine having no heating.
Ive had no option but to involve a solicitor. I’m not spending anymore of my own money on this dump. I’ve spent well over £8000 on this flat during my 6 year tenancy - fixing stuff they refuse to fix, replacing heaters that they removed and didn’t replace, having to keep replacing furniture and clothes due to mold & damp, flooring that had to be replaced due to leaks and rotten subfloor etc. I wish I’d saved that as by now I probably would have had enough for a deposit on my own place.
Eat shi t Ian Williams and choke on a bag of BBC’s
(Middle finger) (peace sign)
Never turn up and even if they do they scratch their heads then go get "materials" and never show up again..
5 times in a row this has happened.
Honestly how this company is even legally allowed to operate is beyond me.
A employee named Spencer called on a Sunday . He immediately discovered the problem and tried to help as much as possible . He was kind and very reassuring and even rang back to make sure all was ok . This was Reading Rg30 south east ares
Work gets set and booked in for a day job but they turn up in the afternoon then won't do the work as the job will take to long!
Lost count of all the cancelled, failed and incomplete jobs that they have to do. Including one that's over 6 months old!
Don't think anyone actually talks to each other and are about as useful as a waterproof tea bag!
I've written complaints formally but that's another dead end, nothing changes!
I'd be horrified and totally embarrassed if I owned or managed this company!
3 times in a row they have not shown up. Promised a job to be done today. Arrival time was between 8 and 1.... No one has shown and yet again I have now lost a days work. Shambolic company!
