I started application for a credit…

I started application for a credit card. Got bombarded with multiple calls to finsih application and complete KYC. Did that, got confirmation call about application being approved. Havent heard any update after that with any details. And then they keep calling with new request to get new credit card / account open. (Application ref - 29010854557 )! Tried contacting customer care but they go on mute until I decide to cut the call (LoL)

Day by day

Day by day, this ICICI bank NRE banking is becoming untrustworthy. Since January 2026, I have been following up for a refund & still no refund has been processed back to my account, as they agreed. They provide you with a relationship manager, but they are just another CSR & they do not have any authority.  They just give false hopes. No action even after multiple phone calls & WhatsApp messages.

MAB Charges Applied Without Authorization

Serious concern regarding unauthorized charges and lack of accountability by ICICI Bank.

MAB (Minimum Average Balance) charges were debited from my account based on an alleged increase to ₹5,00,000. I have explicitly stated that I never requested, approved, or consented to any such change.

Despite repeated written requests, the bank has failed to provide:
• Any documentary proof of customer consent
• System audit trail showing when and how this change was made
• Clear justification beyond generic statements

Instead, I received templated responses claiming the charges were “applied correctly,” without substantiating this claim.

For clarity: In the absence of verifiable customer authorization, such debits raise serious concerns regarding compliance, transparency, and customer protection standards.

This matter is now being escalated to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for formal review.

Customers are advised to closely monitor their accounts and demand proper documentation for any changes impacting financial obligations.

The bank is crooked

The bank is crooked, executives are complicit in committing fraud. selectively break rules and after stop responding. hide their lapses. Even MD , board and nodal officers are join the brigade to hide lapses. steal or allow some accounts holders steal money form joint signatory account, and executives are complicit in forgery.

Trichy Road Branch

Trichy Road Branch - Extremely poor customer service experience!! Different staff always ask for the same documents - yet nothing is ever updated on the system! Visited the branch today to activate a debit card; phone numbers were not updated and to do that - several different documents are required AGAIN, signature mismatch. And amidst all of this the customer service agent is also assisting another customer with 10lakhs in cash. While she assures us that my details will be updated, she is distracted with the other customer! Extremely unprofessional and poor customer service. Would not recommend banking with bank.

Complete frauds & absolute worst behaviour.

Complete frauds. Rude behaviour and indiscipline customer support. They keep on adding wrong charges to my credit card. Their agent Anjali who contacted now switched off the phone.

Their on call support is the worst. Extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour. They didn’t even acknowledged my concern. The person just hanged on my call and every single one of their agent talks rudely.

Itne ghatiya tareeke se, badtameezi se baat karte hain ye log. RBI needs to take strict action against these customer support staff.

Their email support takes forever to respond. They deliberately delayed my card closure request and added charges for no reason. Even after providing all the necessary details all they respond with is “we are unable to trace your card”. How come you are able to trace to put charges?

I am taking this to RBI. You can get away with these charges and bad behaviour.

Pathetically Managed KYC process

Guess what? i'm almost more than 18 years of your customer and couldn't access internet/mobile banking for some ridiculous KYC process they set... After multiple Re-kyc, still didn't get a solution and the customer service is at its peak worst - not even giving proper solution. Each escalation goes to different representative & each one gives their own half-baked response. Recently thinking a lot why should I bank with such a disloyal institution...who doesn't care for customer service

After going through the transactions we came to know Which is really disappointed ☹️

I applied for pre-approved top up on my home loan, first the staff did not file the application on time due to which the offer expired. Then they assured me to go via normal loan procedure and said it will also be same. But, they asked for endless documents and the lady sanctioning the loan asked endless and very personal questions like who do you live with? What kind of question is this for home loan top up? They have salary slips and the docket signed by customer in person and still ask useless questions to make customer uncomfortable. I finally declined to proceed. This happened in Ludhiana branch.
I don’t recommend anyone to take any loan from this bank.

A 3 hour disaster!!!

What went wrong??? Everything! Including the absolute basics! I went to the local branch here in Bhopal to open a NRE/NRO account. There were 3 reps at the NRI counter. 2 sounded more experienced but the newest recruit was allocated to me. My passport and other key documents were handled more times in the 3 hours that I was made to wait than it has been in 3 years because their app on the phone was not working!! Brief explanations offered but no apology for the disasterous service which could only be completed partially and needs a 2nd visit. I have no idea how I will bank with them but they know this better than anyone else that PEOPLE LIKE ME HAVE NO REAL CHOICES!!!! APPALLING DOESN'T COME CLOSE. THEY SHOULD BUY A LOCK AND LOCK UP FOR GOOD!

Painful process to generate a calendar year interest statement for NRI USA customers

Just went through my yearly painful journey of trying to generate an interest certificate for my NRI/NRO accounts at ICICI.

This in theory is supposed to be straight forward. But it has never been. This year the web site functionality to pick a date range for the certificate is broken. The option to do a custom date exists, but there is no way to pick a specific date range. It directly downloads a PDF for a duration it seems to have chosen randomly.. So I had to call in, and go through another painful process of trying to validate myself and get one generated.

Generating the yearly certificate has been a painful process for 25 plus years now. And each year it is an equally frustrating experience.

I fail to understand why this bank takes pride in its NRI account services for the USA but can’t understand that every USA customer will need a interest certificate for a calendar year sometime in January for filing taxes. Why can't they just generate one and email it to people.

I have provided them this feedback for many years when I spoke to the customer rep. And this year, I mailed this feedback to support in writing. I Hope someone there is paid to watch the feedback emails and they can get this right next year.

But I am also posting it here, hoping enough people complain to let them know this is a important issue

ICICI - if you are listening - It is a simple fix. Generate a yearly statement in Dec and email it to all NRI customers who live in countries with calendar year filing requirements

I have been facing a UPI issue for almost two weeks now, and it has been one of the most frustrating banking experiences I’ve ever had. Multiple tickets have been raised, and every time I’m assured that the issue will be resolved soon — yet nothing actually happens. No one has been able to clearly explain what the problem is, let alone fix it.

UPI is not a luxury; it’s something we depend on daily. From paying bills and groceries to handling urgent transfers, my day-to-day routine has been seriously disrupted. I’ve had failed payments at checkout counters, delays in sending money, and the embarrassment of transactions not going through when needed the most. It creates unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

What’s more disappointing is the complete lack of empathy. There’s no ownership of the issue, no proactive follow-up, and no clear communication. It feels like the customer is left to chase updates repeatedly without any real resolution.

At this point, it honestly feels like no one even understands what the issue is. Banking should make life easier, not more complicated. This experience has significantly lowered my trust and confidence in the bank’s ability to handle critical services efficiently.

I truly hope they improve their support system and start prioritizing customer concerns, especially when it comes to essential services like UPI.

Bureaucratic and useless!

Shame the minimum is 1 star as I don't want to give them that. The website and process to update anything is not fit for purpose. Impossible to try and do anything without the webpages crashing or error page loading. The information required to confirm simple changes is so difficult to obtain and load. Eg for a change of address a copy of the passport (uk) is needed, when UK passports do no have this information in them? Don't waste your time with them.

Recently I had an extremely disappointing experience with two ICICI staff members. I was visiting the bank to activate my de-activated account.

During my visit, I spoke with Gauri Shinde & her coworker who kept insisting that I need an OCI card for my account activation. This happened despite I pointing out that ICICI website does not even lists OCI card as a requirement for account activation.
Thankfully the branch manager stepped in & with his help I could get my account activated very easily.

I am still stunned at how patronizing, ignorant, & unapologetic ICICI staff Gauri Shinde & her coworker were.
