Forex card service is non-existent

Every foreign trip I've had money deducted from the forex card incorrectly. They expect people to wait more than 30 days to get the money back. Customer service is pointless. My approx 200 dollars got stuck for 2 months last year.

If there was a zero

If there was a zero, I would give to this bank. The most untrustworthy, dishonest and shameless institution ever with smug, unreliable staff who should be ashamed of lying to customers and miss-selling through unscrupulous tactics. We have been mis-sold policies where our money was held interest rates changed, only to be told many years later that we had been given a loan. Why withdrawing our own money from our own account be a loan?? Then we had been asked to open accounts to transfer our own money into a series of different accounts to access it. Tactics….tactics…dishonesty!

This bank is the worst

This bank is the worst. I had a credit card of the bank. Scammers committed a fraud on my credit card. I immediately reported the fraud to the bank, police. But still they charged my credit card. They promote frauds and are unable to handle anything.

You will wait for a week for a reply, even escalation hardly work, I have simply asked that i have issue in forex card load and i get a reply that how to add email, a meaning less reply , they have worst forex system and zero capapbility to support it techncally.

I went to the Branch for Re KYC

I went to the ICICI Bank Branch for Re KYC. Submitted everything required. Their processing centre came back saying they cant accept Muncipal Tax bill as proof of address but they were happy to use the address in the OCI as address proof. I told them The address in the OCI has changed so sending any communication to that address will not reach me as i dont live there any more. There has been no answer from the Customer service. I went to the Branch and the Branch Manager just avoided me and fobbed me off to a junior who simply gave me a account closure form instead of trying to sort my problem with their Central team. Crappy service. Stupid rules. Just no concern about the customer. AVOID THIS ICICI BANK

Don't use moneytoworld service of ICIC bank. One of the worst service. I sent money to USA on Monday 17 march. But the beneficiary still didn't receive it. It's been almost 10 days.

Whever I call ICIC bank NRI customer support number. No one pick's up, it's always on waiting. I've been trying for days to contact them.

Beware of ICICI Bank’s Verbal Promises – Always Get Everything in Writing!

I usually don’t make a big deal out of things, but this situation with **ICICI Bank** felt like they took advantage of the circumstances. I want to share my experience so others can be cautious and "never trust verbal assurances from any bank—always get everything in writing!"

ICICI Bank was slowly but surely building my trust, but unfortunately, one transaction completely destroyed it. Here’s what happened in the month of March 2025.

It all started on March 3rd, when I spoke with my Relationship Manager (RM), Hariharan, at ICICI Bank. I had informed him about my plan to make a lump sum payment, and he immediately introduced me to the MONEY2INDIA ICICI app. I was a bit skeptical, but my RM guaranteed that the platform was beneficial, citing examples of his customers who had benefited from it. Plus, the exchange rate offered was better than other options.

Before proceeding, I asked him multiple times: “Are you sure about this? What if the exchange rate changes?” To which he confidently assured me: “No sir, once the rate is locked, you will get the agreed rate. Just make sure to note the reference code and mention this Note without fail ‘"M2X11719409", Charges: OUR’ without fail.”

Since it was my first time using the platform, I was cautious but decided to proceed. The rate was locked at AED 23.74 with a VIP code for the best possible rate. Following their instructions, I transferred the amount to ICICI Bank’s account in Emirates NBD.

Everything seemed fine until 24 hours later, when the amount was finally credited to my account. To my shock, the amount was lower than expected! Since it was late evening, I couldn't immediately reach my RM. The next morning, I emailed him to ask why the funds were short.

At first, even Hariharan was surprised and reassured me that it must be an error, promising to get back to me. Later that day, he came back with a shocking response:

"Sir, due to the exchange rate dropping at the time of transfer by ICICI Bank, the new rate was 23.64. Hence, the bank sent the funds at that exchange rate."

Yes, it’s true that the rate had come down, but if the bank had given me a locked rate of 23.74, and if the rate dropped while the money was still in ICICI Bank’s Emirates NBD account, they should have called me! They could clearly see that my rate was locked at 23.74, so under what circumstances or rights did they decide to proceed with the transfer at a lower rate? I would have never completed the transfer on a day when the rate was lower. So who gave them the right to decide on my behalf and transfer my money at a lower rate?

I was in total shock. I immediately called my RM and asked, “Do you even understand what you’re saying? This is not a small amount that I can just ignore the difference!”

I had to argue, fight, and escalate the issue. Unfortunately, my RM was just following instructions and had no real authority. I don’t blame him, but rather the senior management who made this decision, completely disregarding the promises made to customers.

Lesson Learned: Always Get Everything in Writing!
This experience has made me rethink my relationship with ICICI Bank. I had even planned to make investments with them, but after this, I have lost trust and will limit my transactions with ICICI Bank moving forward.

I won’t tell others what to do, but I strongly advise everyone:
✅ Never trust verbal assurances from the bank.
✅ Always get written confirmation for any financial commitments.
✅ Be extremely cautious with their communication—one mistake, and you’ll lose your money!

I hope this review helps others avoid a similar experience. Don't let "One bad transaction flush away your hard-earned money!"

I wanted to open an account with a reputed Indian bank for the import export business transactions but they didn't even bothered yo calk back or email me that the application was declined. Still no idea, what was the reason behind it. I had to call and ask about it.
Their Money to India currency transaction is so rubbish. It takes ages to go through it and still fail to send money. The complain response as well is very bad and slow.

Extremely Disappointed Should not have given single star too...

We have been facing an issue with ICICI Bank for over 15 days, and despite multiple calls, emails, and follow-ups, there has been zero resolution. The customer service team keeps giving generic responses, making false promises, and passing the buck without actually solving the problem.

It's frustrating and unacceptable that such a reputed bank has such poor service. If this is how they treat their customers, I would seriously reconsider and won't recommend any one banking with them in the future. ICICI Bank, is this the kind of service you offer?

No value for customers

No value for customers, no response and waste of time. I have NRI account and recently requested for dmat account, it's been 4 weeks bank have not done anything. They dont even bother to contact you for any queries you may have even after several requests. Need to close account with ICICI.
