Responsive agents but shady policies

Their account backend is jank and the self-service options don't work particularly well so I had to contact support to update my email address.

I had a long thread with three different agents where they kept demanding I submit a copy of a photo ID in order to update my email...for "security reasons". This is absurd and highly suspicious.

Finally, after 4 replies, one of the agents agreed to change my login credentials without the photo.

They do not provide 2FA or other sensible security measures. The site also uses some dark patterns for the payouts. They have a 100.00 minimum to payout for *each currency* they transact in. That means if you've earned $50 USD and €50, you cannot collect either amount...this uniquely grubby payout scheme is in addition to the 70% commission they take. Compare this to e.g. Bandcamp who take 15% and pay you within 24 hours after every sale you make, no minimum.

Needless to say, I do not trust this site to securely store a photo of any of my IDs, nor do I trust them not to share or sell my information.

Great for indie musicians

As a musician, I've had and continue to have a pleasant experience on Jamendo. Here, people can purchase licenses to use my music and I believe the platform does an excellent job in promoting the music available in their catalog. There have never been delays in payment, and there is a lot of transparency. In three years, I've had only two requests, and the support team contacted me very quickly, resolving my issues in a professional manner.

Five Stars for Attentiveness and Resolution

I was so impressed by the quick response to my query. In addition, they reached out to make sure my problem had been resolved. When I didn't respond for a day or two, they reached out again to check in on my problem. I was grateful for their advice and persistence in helping me resolve my issue.

I really love Jamendo!

I really love Jamendo because of how easy the site is to navigate and I also have discovered great music as well, such as their jazz and pop sections.

I also wish that they would have an app as well.

Jamendo breaks the contract and does not pay music authors

I have been a Jamendo artist for 3 years. when, after 2 years, I decided to get my honestly earned money, it turned out that Jamendo did not want to fulfill its obligations under the contract and pay the money. For 8 months now I have been writing letters to them and receiving the standard responses “thank you for contacting us, we are doing everything in our power.” Dear listeners, please know that for your subscription and purchase of compositions, its authors, in the end, do not earn anything on this site made by scammers!
