Worrisome

3gs7m0 is the Booking reference. I had booked through the website accommodation at Manyara wildlife safari lodge for stay during July 2016. I was happy with ease of navigation, detailing of lodges in Africa and prompt online chat responses. However when I wrote to the lodge for reconfirmation, they stated by email that the reservation is yet to be confirmed because of resident status, as shown by this company, whereas I booked in as a non resident tourist only. This is where the matter stands and several emails to the company remain unresponded till now. So I am stuck and helpless.. Thought I should share this info for the good of others.

Great Deals and Service!

I have used Jovago to successfully book for two hotels and their service is amazing. They have great discounts with this hotels already and they also offer vouchers to even get more discounts. Only thing they need to work on is getting more hotels under them. But overall, Great Website!

Great service

I booked to stay over christmas in Arba Minch in Ethiopia and had a very good experience of booking with Jovago. The customer service team rang up the hotel to ensure that they were expecting us before we arrived and there was an airport shuttle waiting for us. The reception at the hotel were aware of the jovago booking and we were happy with the room and service we received at the hotel. I would definitely use the website again for hotel bookings in Ethiopia.

False adverstising

I highly recommend to not use this platform. I made a booking online and paid for the accommodation in Tofo Mozambique only for them to call me the next day and tell me that the accommodation was fully booked. They gave me 5 alternatives which I then asked them to book me in any of those alternatives but they came back to me and said they were actually all fully booked, basically wasting my time. The agent that assisted me was very professional and helpful however the company itself has a flawed business model by falsely advertising accommodation and taking payment(I have been payed back) but the whole experience leaves the end user with a bad taste

DISHONEST but will own up to errors

I am waiting for my refund and i am stranded because my booking for travel depend on the money you have not returned. I got a proof of refund, BUT NO DATA ON WHEN I WILL SEE THE MONEY...APPROVED...NOTHING HAS BEEN CLEAR BECAUSE YOU GUYS LIIIIIIIIIIIIE
FUTURE customers know this,NEVER USE JOVAGO,,,,it is the worst when it comes to follow up refunds to their cancellation policy. I would advise using a LEGIT travel agent not these ones.
I am waiting for refund the chat today on saturday says finance is not there, their 24/7 customer care line is a lie, they do not care about the customer at all when it comes to getting their refund.
THEY ARE TERRIBLE...

Dumb Scammers...Faulty Business Model

Jovago is a sad excuse for an online hotel booking service. they take your money, tell you your booking is confirmed and when you get to the hotel you're left completely stranded. Funny bots keep pasting you same automated lines on 'live chat'. Phone line loops busy like forever, And the hotel reaches out to pull you by your ears when you're having a bath for laying fake claims of payment to them. When you have actually paid jovago

Never use Jovago.com except you have a backup plan. and care to donate some bucks to them.

rubbish customer service

I've been trying to fix a refund on my card for almost a month. They have yet to fix it despite calls, emails and instant chat contact. I've been told it's been done and it's not. They didn't bother to contact me at all. Never going to use the site again.

Stranded in Nigeria because of Jovago - Scammed?

I made a payment to Jovago for my accomodation. Confirmed by my bank. They then email to tell me they will have to refund me.

I am now 6 days into my stay and not having accommodation or a place to stay because I had paid 3000 USD to Jovago who could not even arrange with the hotel to make payment at a later point once I have been refunded.

Thanks a lot. I had the phone put down on me and no responses to my emails.

I will flag this as a scam or fraud.

Too many calls and emails

The booking system works fine, but is it really necessary to receive 4 phone calls and 5 emails just to confirm and follow up on a booking? It is too much.

Lovely Bed, Lovely Food.

I enjoyed the bed(Soft and tender), bedding and food...Naturally I like food, but the array and taste of food(breakfast) at Sparklyn Hotel is awesome. The staff are friendly and warm, I love it here.

Works like a charm

I booked an hotel in Lagos three weeks ago (business purpose). Everything worked like a charm. As I did not know about Jovago, I asked the driver who picked me at the airport what the hotel manager thinks of Jovago. He answered that it was a bit difficult at the beginning, but now they are very happy to work with them, since they are more flexible.

5 stars because my hotel was on Jovago only, and it saved me a lot of time!

Good prizing but doubtful booking!

First of all too many hotels they want to get instant money by immidiate booking - if the room is available than? i doubt it.

There are so many hotels where it is clearly visible that the location is unknown and unproofed. Hotels are located in Meru (text mode) and 600 km away (pictures and map), others you can't know if they are in Maasai Mara or in homabay (150 km), Meru or Embu.

Very risky to book there.

They are not Serius***SCAM***

I make a booking for our business partner on one hotel in Abuja and also paid the amount
first they charge me more than the reciept and they(Jovago Staff) maybe your bank when i cal the bank they told me marchant charge you not us
secondly after 1 hour they call me from jovago that the hotel you booked is full and you have to change your hotel after i send my driver to pick our business partner and i send him the confirmation code.
really i am sorry for this service and never ever i use again this website
that look like scammer.

Quick refund

Hi, I tried to book a hotel near Mount Mulanje in Malawi. They weren't able to pay the hotel owner, so got in touch and quickly refunded the cost of the hotel.

Greatly appreciated, and great service despite not being able to book.

Pathetic Experience - The worst online service

It was the worst experience ever!!
I am not talking about the hotel that I booked, I am talking about the website Jovago, which is a disaster!
I booked online for a stay in Himalya Hotel Nathiagali, Jovago sent me the contact details of the person in the hotel which I booked. I called that person and he told me that he doesn't even know what jovago is.
I quoted him the price that Jovago charged me for booking and he told me that I am insane if I want the room in these rates.
And that is not all.
I contacted Jovago, after the millionth try on Live Chat and telephone, someone called me back, and listened to me, he said he will resolve my concern. After an hour another agent call me and I specifically told him that I am waiting for you people to resolve my issue. He assured me that he will call me in a while after resolution.
Hours passed and no one even called, no one picked up the phone, no one came on live chat, even no one answered my email.
What sort of Online Service is this!
I will never use this service again, and I will personally make sure to spread the word of my disastrous experience with this pathetic service.

I myself am a part of customer satisfaction industry and I know how these things are run, these people at Jovago, they don't even have a clue about how to handle customer concerns.

THE MOST PATHETIC EXPERIENCE EVER!

Worst online portal - misleading and dishonest

First of all, they are not a real portal with availabilities. You book, they charge you, send you a confirmation - and only then they check the hotel for availability and cancel your booking.

They lie about having checked with hotels (3 different agents gave conflicting information)

Avoid and use real portals or deal with the properties directly.

The best site for hotel booking in Nigeria - for Business and Leisure!

The hotel was exactly how it was described and was the perfect place to stay for our trip. My only wish would be that the site incorporated user reviews as while the hotel was great value for money there were a couple of things i would recommend to anyone else who chose that hotel to improve their stay! Otherwise WELL DONE Jovago and thanks for the discount code!
