Excellent cooking course

My 15 year old son completed this course for his bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. He thoroughly enjoyed making these recipes each week. There are a great variety of recipes and different ones that we will definitely cook again. Nikki was very helpful throughout the course and always provided prompt positive feedback. My son had a real sense of satisfaction having completed the course and it has given him a real interest in cooking. It has been a great experience for him and he has learnt skills for life. I would absolutely recommend the course!

Kiddy Cook course for the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh A*

My 15 year old son has just completed the Kiddy Cook course for his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

He enjoyed making the different recipes and has started asking at the weekends if he can prep vegetables or chop up onions for a tomato pizza sauce.

The recipes have clear instructions to follow and the course has taught him many skills.

He is definitely more confident in the kitchen and is willing to try new recipes at home. Today he decided he wanted to make a steak pie from scratch.

Nikki was very helpful and encouraged my son every step of the way , we also loved the flexibility of the course.

I would definitely recommend this course to teenagers who are keen to start cooking at home🙂.

What a brilliant course

What a brilliant course! My son has just completed the DofE Kiddy Cook cookery course for his bronze award. We all enjoyed eating the finished product and he will definitely be making these dishes again. The recipes were very straightforward and the lists of ingredients were easy to find. Nikki was very helpful and the personalised recipe cards are fab. Definitely recommend.

My daughter has just completed the course for her bronze DofE. Cooking at home gives the flexibility of being able to prepare in advance and cook when suits. She found the recipes easy to follow and liked the variety. No excessive ingredient lists to put you off and food that most teens enjoy (pizza, pot noodle, bolognaise etc). Thank you Nikki for providing feedback and providing certificate of completion.
Off to join Kiddy cook at home for her little sister now......

Kiddycook for Bronze DofE Skills Section

I have really enjoyed the Kiddycook online cooking course for my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award skills section. I was struggling to find a skill that would fit in around my hockey commitments. Kiddycook was perfect as I could do it anytime to suit my busy schedule. The 12 recipes were useful and varied, incorporating lots of new skills, but were still achievable independently. Would thoroughly recommend this course. Nikki was always prompt to reply to emails, send the information and recipes, the final assessor report and certificate.

Amazing course

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in this cooking course. The recipes were very clear and Nikki was very efficient in responding to my emails. I will really miss this cooking course and the weekly sending of photos of what I made to Nikki. To reiterate; clear recipes, help whenever you need it and a lot of fun.

DofE bronze award online course

My son has just completed this course for his bronze DofE award, honestly can't recommend enough! The recipes are really varied with sweet and savoury, meals, snacks and desserts and with lots of different skills to learn or use. And we as a family have all enjoyed the results! The banana bread was a favourite and the thai curry was better than any takeaway! Great communication with Nikki by email too, all very well organised and couldn't fault any part of it.

DofE Bronze Award Online Course

My twins did the Kiddy Cook DofE Bronze Award online cookery course for their skills section. Both found it interesting and loved learning new skills and trying new recipes. Some of the recipes they have cooked again. It was easy to email a photo every week of their creation which was then sent back as a recipe card for them to keep. At the end of the 12 week course they emailed feedback saying what they had learnt, liked, disliked etc and then Kiddy Cook issued a certificate. I cannot fault Kiddy Cook they were really helpful. The recipe cards and any questions we sent by email were answered quickly usually waiting no more than a day for a response.

The Tops

I had a great experience using Kiddy Cook as my skill for Silver D of E. The recipes were quick to make and delicious (add a few chocolate chips to that banana bread and you're onto a winner) and the customer service was excellent, with my eDofE account being updated for me immediately after completion. You won't regret it!

Unreliable and disappointing experience

Kiddy Cook arranged to provide after school cooking sessions at my children's primary school - both my children were keen, and were signed up for a term. Whilst the first half of the terms went without issue, the Kiddy Cook team member became less reliable.
- An email was received advising that 2 sessions of the second half of the term wouldn't be going ahead, and that we would be refunded for these.
- An email was then received stating that these sessions would now be running after all.
- A further email was received asking whether we would be happy for the last session of term to be a craft activity rather than cooking (!!!). I responded that I would not be happy about this as my children were signed up to a cookery class, not crafting club.
- An email was then received stating the first session of the second half term would be cancelled as the Team member had a virus, but there would be no refund of the cost of the session as this is part of the terms and conditions upon booking (!!).
- One last email was received advising that all sessions for the second half of the term were being cancelled - no reason given - and that all sessions would be refunded.
I am very disappointed with the level of service and continuity provided by Kiddy Cook, and my children were very disappointed to learn that they would not be able to finish their course - they only did 4 sessions.

In particular, Kiddy Cook may wish to review their terms and conditions if they do not offer a refund in the event the representative has to cancel a session. What incentive is there for them to run each session, and not (cynically) book a holiday and claim sickness, knowing they do not need to refund the cost to parents?

Edit: I have increased the rating from 1 star to three stars based on Kiddy Cook’s HQ customer care. I do hope this was an unfortunate experience and not representative of other Leaders.

I was very disappointed to hear of you’re recent experience with Kiddy Cook and I wanted to assure you that we ALWAYS offer a refund in the event of us cancelling a class. The Class Leader has been instructed to refund your money immediately and you should receive payment in the next few days. Kiddy Cook prides itself on good customer service and (as you can see from other feedback), this is out of character for our business and I am very sorry that you and your children did not get the cooking class that you’d paid for.
