L & M Carpet One Floor & Home Reviews 

On January 1, 2018, we had a pipe freeze upstairs and unfortunately dealt with some water damage in the upstairs hallway. Our State Farm agent suggested we work with L&M Carpet One to have the hardwood floors in our 2nd floor hallway repaired/replaced. We had a section which was warping at first, so John Gaines came to inspect and asked to get a sample. He proceeded to take a sample from our hall linen closet and cut WELL BEYOND the door, thus leaving a visible hole which extended 4-5 inches beyond the closed door. 1st mistake. This FORCED us to replace the entire hallway upstairs.
We set up an appointment with L&M to choose the replacement floor. All went smoothly and we chose a color close to our current floor color as the color had to match the stained color of the stairs. Floors ordered. 2nd mistake.
Installation day. Install team waited until the final hour to ask me about the stair nose portion of our project. Told me that removing the baluster and changing the stair nose could potentially cause 10 more issues - wall issues, banister replacement possible, floor issues, etc. Asked me if I would like to keep the current stair nose there instead. After looking at color difference which was minimal, I said that is fine. We were about to put our house on market and didn't want 10 new issues to pop up. Once finished, I went upstairs to inspect. The floor was off. New floor was about 1/2 inch higher than stair nose and there was a gap. Not happy. Shoe molding was also the incorrect color. Had to reschedule crew to come install the stair nose. 3rd mistake.
2nd crew came to install the current stair nose. Opened the box and the piece was curved. Would need to order a new piece. 4th mistake.
New piece came in 2 weeks later (when I could have run to Home Depot to buy a new piece) and it arrived the same color as the original and incorrect shoe molding. And it came in too wide. No install. John Gaines would need to order a new piece and reschedule. 5th mistake.
John ordered a custom piece stained and it arrived a week later. A crew came back to install and only installed one part for the stair nose. So now we had 3 different colored floors. I was livid. 6th mistake.
John Gaines came to inspect. I questioned why the installer would have wasted his time installing when it clearly was the wrong color. Another custom piece ordered. One week lead time. They are scheduled to come out this week to install both pieces of stair nose, so I am sure something will go wrong.
Pipe issues happened in January 2018. It is now almost June and our floors are still NOT CORRECTLY installed and finished. My husband spoke to the manager numerous times and it is still taking extra time to resolve.

Now, I would have given this company a one star review, but they did also install carpet for us in 2 rooms and that portion of this job went smoothly. No complaints about that.

They also replaced ceramic tile - 3x7 area in our laundry closet - and that was a positive experience beyond the tile guys breaking our sons dresser drawer handle while delivering the hardwoods and losing our washing machine drip pan plug....

I cannot recommend this company at all. I work full time and this company has been at my house 9-10 times now due to their mistakes. Major inconvenience. Not to mention 4 men standing around me telling each other, "If Momma ain't happy, then no one is happy". Well guess what guys, damn right I am not happy and I will be more than happy to tell the world. And I am sure at this point, John Gaines is regretting cutting 4-5 inches more than he should have.

Consumer beware.

L&M was very knowledgeable and therefore very helpful with determining the best way for me to go with new floor. They did a professional insulation of new flooring.

We purchased new carpet for the 2nd floor of our home. Thanks to Kelly, the decision making and purchasing process went better than we could ever have imagined. The instillation was completed as scheduled. Cotton and Charles did excellent work! As s result of our great experience with the carpeting, with Kelly’s assistance, we’re now preparing to complete the tiling in two (2) remodeled bathrooms. That work will begin in the next couple of weeks. Thanks to Kelly and all the folks at L&M for their personal touch and professionalism throughout this entire process!

It has been 3 months since our initial agreement with L&M to install hardwood in our hallway. The job is still incomplete and the workmanship on what was done is awful.

I hired this company to replace carpet in one of my bedrooms back in November. They provided great customer experience from the beginning from when then sent their rep to provide the estimate to the final installation. Laurel was my customer service rep and very responsive to my questions and addressed all my concerns. I plan to replace the carpet for the upstairs in my house and plan to use this company again.

We had a great experience with L&M. As soon as I came in Laurel came over and offered to assist. I explained what we were looking for, and she led me right to the choices. She was knowledgeable about all of the product. I told her I would also have to come by with my wife to look again. They’re werent pushy, spent plenty of time with us.
When we selected what we wanted, we indicated when we wanted to have it installed. They followed up the day prior to install. The installation was excellent, and done on time. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend L&M to anyone looking for floor coverings.

I am very happy with the service and product I received. The sales person, John was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The flooring I purchased was installed when they said it would and I am extremely happy with it.

We had been to several places looking at options and pricing for a new flooring for our den. There were so many options especially having 2 dogs with some research and the with the help of John we were able to come up with a decision and price that was within our budget. Overall our experience was wonderful as was our installer, Tracy(sp). The removal and install did take a day and a half but Tracy cut no corners on the quality of work he did.

Excellent job. Love my new kitchen floor. Good communication and easy to work with.

Jimmy Whiteside and James Stokes were the two gentlemen responsible for installing my new floors. Their work was exceptional. They were always on time and were good about informing me what would be done and when. L&M worked well with State Farm to handle my claim. I would recommend L&M highly.

Wonderful customer service and individual assistance by Misty---she is wonderful. Communication was great with installer coordinator and the installation was great as well. I will return for future flooring needs and I have already referred 2 people.

Sales staff were great. Installation there was a problem. Had a very hard time getting them fix the issue. They resolved it somewhat but should have never happened. I would have expected this from one of the Home Depot or Lowe's not from these people. I guess I was wrong.
