Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 169 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of products, noting a decline in materials and workmanship, with items like jackets and clothing falling apart quickly. Reviewers also frequently encountered issues with customer service, describing it as unhelpful and difficult to reach, with some experiencing long holds and unfulfilled promises regarding order status. The return policy was a major point of frustration for many, who found the process costly and inconvenient, often involving unexpected fees. Furthermore, people reported problems with orders, including significant delays, items not shipping, and incorrect deliveries. Though some customers appreciated the style and comfort of certain items, particularly swimwear and flannel nightgowns, and a few had positive experiences with returns, the general sentiment points to a decline in product quality and customer support.

Lands End used to be a great company

Lands End used to be a great company. Unfortunately it has devolved into one of most despicable, dishonest retail companies I've had the displeasure of dealing with in recent years. I ordered some clothes well in advance of a trip. Their representatives repeatedly lied about the status of my order until it was too late.

Bottom line - they simply don't care about customers. And even if they did they'd be too incompetent to correct their logistics issues.

AVOID these clowns and shop local - but not locally at a Lands End - Their local retail stores are even WORSE.

I ordered two pairs of shorts. The items have not arrived, the tracking link doesn’t work and I have emailed twice but have not received any response. It seems impossible to get any reply from them. I wonder if the company is even operating?

I accidentally purchased a coat and…

I accidentally purchased a coat and tried to contact Lands End, their website gave a 404 error and their customer support number did not work. I spent hours trying to get ahold of someone when finally 8 hours later they replied to my email saying that they cannot refund me because it’s been longer than 1 hour. Their website and customer support was down that ENTIRE TIME!!! So I couldn’t get a hold of anyone and the customer service representative said here is a link to return the item when you receive it and there was NO LINK included in the email. They also let me know that orders placed after 5pm cst are not eligible to be refunded so if you are shopping after hours on their site you are SOL if you make a mistake and I could not find this information anywhere on their website because their customer support site is still giving a 404 error. This company is not honest or trustworthy. Spend your money elsewhere.

Shady practices at this place!

Shady practices at this place!

Shame on me for not checking the reviews first. They are one of the vendors our school uses for uniforms and that is the only reason I ordered here. I placed the order on the 14th, got a confirmation email right away but never got an order processing email until 2 days ago. I initiated contact with them yesterday and today, via their text chat function. The rep told me that the uniforms were just sent to the warehouse for the logos (what were you guys doing for the first 10 days) in the chat today, they couldn’t guarantee any delivery dates and that my feedback would be passed on. Right after, they sent a message about if I wanted to opt out and before I could respond they opted me out of text communications.

Lying Customer Service

I placed an order near the end of July. One item, a bra, was on backorder, and was going to ship on 7/28. I received an email that the item was no longer available, and they'd canceled the order. I went to the website, saw it was still for sale, and asked customer service about that. Was informed the website isn't "real time", and they have no control over that. A month later it is still for sale. You cannot tell me it's not "real time", because the sizes available have updated regularly, but mine is still there. Why am I not allowed to order this? If I saw it was actually out of stock, or discontinued, I'd be fine. But to just lie, for some unknown reason? I don't get it.

We're forced to shop at Land's End due…

We're forced to shop at Land's End due to our children's school uniforms. Not only is the clothing overpriced, but their inability to ship orders in a reasonable timeframe, topped off by misinformation posted on the website concerning the stages of our order processing, order shipping and the associated tracking numbers make shopping at Land's End a very painful and thoroughly undesirable experience. I will NEVER shop at Land's End for personal clothing or gifts based on my experiences. Why would I needlessly suffer when there are plenty of other clothing options offering equal/higher quality at a better price without the brutal order/processing/shipping experience?

No more Lands End monopoly - not reliable

We ordered my daughter's school uniforms on July 17th. It is now August 11th and they still haven't arrived and she starts school tomorrow and will be out of dress code. When I contacted customer service, they just shared the tracking info, which basically shows the same information for over 10 days (basically, it's lost) and the customer service agent just told me to wait.

I work at the school and will be asking why Land's End has a monopoly on our school uniforms when they can't even get an order to us in 3.5 weeks. While the problem may be with USPS, for losing it during shipping, Lands End should still make it right as Amazon and other large retailers do.

Deceptive. It has in bold written if approved for card 50 % off but I was billed the full amount of my purchas. When I called they said uniform are not included which is crazy because it does not BOLDLY tell you this.. Deceptive Practice
BTW landsend is mostly known for uniform why would that not be included in the 50 % off. DISAPPOINTING

Good products, bad credit card

The products that I have ordered from Lands End have been good quality. When I had to make a return, it was handled well. The customer service people at Lands End have been pleasant and helpful. But I really hate the Lands End credit card, which is offered through Comenity Bank. The customer service people at Comenity Bank don't know what they are doing. It was even difficult to limit sharing of my personal information for affiliates to market to me; it was as if Comenity was intentionally trying to make it difficult.

Too long to refund

Too long to wait for a refund. Did an online chat and was told to come back if not refunded. Now the online chat isn't working and have to get in touch again. This is over £100 and definitely not as good as other companies. Definitely won't be ordering again

Unethical Management

The company I worked for gives a yearly voucher for uniforms to be purchased at Land’s End. I placed my order, and unfortunately, they did not fit, they needed hemming. I called & spoke with Joni (supervisor) and asked her if I could make an exchange on 8 pants, have 4 pants hemmed from a previous order, and 2 skirts returned, she agreed. She asked that I write a detail note, attached to my order, instructing them what I wanted to do. She also stated that she too would make a note in the computer, so there would be no confusion. As she asked me questions, I could hear the clicking of the computer as she types. A few weeks, later I received my package but, it was not the quantity of merchandise I was expecting. I called to enquire, and I was meet with confusion. No one seem to know what I was talking about. Everyone I spoke with kept mentioning 8 pants, but didn’t seem to know anything about the 4 pants for hemming, and the 2 skirts for return. (They were all mailed in the same package). I asked several representatives including Robyn & Rebecca to check Joannie’s notes, but they all refused, had attituded, and kept telling me they don’t see my order. Rebecca, kept asking OVER, and OVER “what order were those 4 pants, and 2 skirts on?” I told her I did not know, and no matter how many times she ask, my answer will be the same. She told me that Land’s End return policy was changed to 90 days. (I was not aware). She assured me that she would resolved my issues, but not before giving me a lecture of how rude I was to her staff, and that she was going to pull my recorded conversation and have my manager listen to it. She even tried to convince me that this was something that they’ve done in the past. She even threaten to pull prior calls, and told that if I was ever notified of Land’s End 90 days policy, my 4 pants, and 2 skirts would NOT be returned to me, and I would NOT be credited. How dear you! This statement was repeated not once, not twice, several times. I listened without interruptions. When she was done, I said “Well, it was my perception that Land’s End policy was….” When I was rudely interrupted “Your perception is not facts!!” I said to her, “When you were talking, I did not interrupt, I listened, as you repeated yourself over & over. Now, I am going to talk, and you’re going to listen. As I said before it was my perception, (perception does not mean facts), that Land’s End policy was – you could return anything, at any time. By the way, I did NOT ask for a return on my 4 pants, I asked for them to be hemmed, and sent back to me, and a return on the 2 skirts. Also, I was NEVER aware, and was NEVER told by anyone that Land’s End had changed their return policy to 90. You also will NEVER find in any note (beside when I spoke to Joni) or find any recording of anyone telling me about a 90 days policy”. Rebecca went through my order, read the notes, then she said “Oh! I see that you were only told by Joni about our 90-day policy”. She continued to read, then she said –“I see the disconnect. Your order was flagged in the computer as 7 separate returns”. What she was trying to explain was – my returns was to be done as one transaction, but someone separated them in 7 different transactions. This means that if I had 7 returns, someone would have likely made me aware of their new policy, when return #1was done. They saw 7 returns, so they assumed that I was already told 7 times what their return policy is. The following day Jill the executive director called me to clarify what was going on. She never apologize. I told her I was treated unfairly, and discriminated against, based on the flags that they placed on my account. The following day Jill called my supervisor, told her I was rude to her employees, claimed I screamed at them, made 3 cried, & I claimed racial discrimination, (not bias discrimination) and I was returning items that were purchased 4-year ago. Never once did Jill, or anyone at Land’s End apologize for their mistakes. They doubled down to made me look like a criminal!! Jill’s intention was to have me terminated from my job. Even though JILL knew what had caused the disconnect, she never mention it to me, nor my supervisor. She never made my supervisor aware that I had spoken to Joni, and Joni had approved me sending my merchandise back. Joni’s notes was in the computer, they all saw it, and ignored it. I was even threatened by JILL that my conversation was taped, and will be presented to my employer. For all employee who order uniforms from Lands please be aware that your phone conversations can be used against you, “Illegally”.

Bad experience with Land's End credit card company

For years I ordered from Land's end and loved the products, got good service. Then I signed up for their credit card, through comenity bank, also no problems for about a year. Then in the fall last year I got texts and call from Comenity bank, and I assumed these were scams as I had never heard of the bank (didn't know at the time this was the Land's End credit card). I finally got a message that actually mentioned the Land's end credit card (why didn't they put this in their messages earlier???). this got sorted out. I checked my online account with the credit card and made sure I was signed up for paper statements, and also put in all my contact information with permissions to contact me. fast forward a few months and suddenly I find out I'm being sent to collections for a small amount owed on the Land's End credit card. I was not sent a statement, nor were there any notifications by email, text or phone message. I contacted the bank, paid off the balance and cancelled the card. It is unlikely I will order again. Also, the company doesn't seem to have in stock many of the items they advertise in the sales magazines that are sent out regularly.

July 4th Sale

I placed my order for July 4th, but the day after, it was canceled. I noticed the item was back in stock just two days later, but at a higher price. This practice is unacceptable and feels dishonest. If the item is backordered, I expect the option for delayed shipping, just as other retailers provide.

I'm Done

Ordered something that was very large in size. When returning, they wanted to keep another 8+ dollars. Already paid $9+ to ship. Item cost $26. So to return it, I would spend $17 and have no product! I ended up taking a store credit, (after initial shipping cost!) so as not to pay shipping twice! NOT COOL. I think I'll pass on Land' End in the future. Too bad. All you Companies out there. We only look stupid. Costs are already too high. Products including food are shrinking, along with our bank accounts. Don't be surprised when you're forced out of business bc you all pushed us customers away once and for all. Keep it up. I'm done.

These shoes really fit.

My feet are really comfortable. I've had trouble all my life finding shoes wide enough for my feet. My order of "Women's Wide Width All Weather Casual Slip On Shoes" arrived today. Been wearing them for hours. Next time I need new shoes I'll be back at Lands' End. P.S. Love the color.

I bought a rain jacket a couple years ago. I finally wore it in a moderate rain storm (I live in Northern New Mexico, not a lot of rain). My right arm was almost immediately wet. I contacted customer service, they could not find the order and told me that I would be eligible for a $6 refund. This used to be a great company who stood by their products. Goodbye Lands End

No cancellation (even within the rules)

I submitted an order for something, realized I made a mistake and called within an hour to cancel the order and they wouldn't let me change it. I'm out $200 for something completely worthless to me now. I argued with customer service because I KNOW I submitted the order less than an hour ago and they still wouldn't let me change or cancel the order and said their hands were tied. Terrible service, predatory measures. Avoid.

Worst Customer Service Ever

I placed an order on June 13th, and the next day, a better code became available. I contacted customer service and asked to cancel the order since my cart was ready with the same items (all available) and I could have reordered with a 33% discount. However, the customer service advised me to request a price adjustment within their timeline—big mistake. They only refunded me 13%. When I called customer service again, they told me that after review, their initial decision was not accurate, so they denied the refund. Since I don't have screenshots, I can't prove my point, but my main argument is why they didn't cancel my order when I requested it. Other stores' customer service simply reviews and adjusts prices immediately. They don't make it so complicated. I will never shop at this store again.
