Why use the shop? I suggest manufacturer direct.
Rather than buy direct from Brompton Bikes, I preferred to do business with a bike shop. My purchase was to co-incide with a trip to the Lake district so I contacted the Lancaster shop. Yes they had one in stock, yes I could pick it up the following day (1st July). As I was submiting my deposit they checked and no, actually there was a stocking error but I could pick it up on the 3rd July. I would be on my way back so no problem. I was told I could pick it up any time after midday. So, excited, I found somewhere to pay for parking in the centre of Lancaster and got to the shop at midday. It wouldn’t be ready until the end of the day. Disappointed, I told the chap I was expecting it at midday as I had been advised. “I don’t know who told you that” was the curt reply. I shall buy from Brompton’s website instead, clearly naïve of me to support a bike shop. Mistakes are understandable, even doubled up. But arrogance and rudeness are not what I expect when I’m trying to spend 2500 on a bike.

Thank you for getting in touch, first of all, please accept my apologies for the experience you have had with Leisure Lakes Bikes Lancaster.
When we took the order for your bike over the phone, we discovered an error with our stock, and arranged to get an alternative bike from another store, for collection later that week, to coincide with your trip to Lancaster. When arranging this, I advised that the bike would arrive with us around midday, and would be ready for collection early afternoon. I believe this is where we have got our wires crossed, and I can only apologise for not being clearer as to when the bike would be ready.
In regard to the colleague you spoke to when you came in, I can assure you that it was not his intention to come across as rude, and I apologise that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion.
I hope we have the opportunity to assist you in the future, and make up for your recent visit.

Helpful, prompt service
Helpful, prompt service. They offered two options for a repair to my Brompton, fixed within 24 hrs, good communication, not too expensive. Pleasant to deal with. I usually avoid chains, but they're helpful and competent at the Lancaster shop.

Saved my multi day bike trip
Leisure lake bikes in Lancaster saved my bike trip and helped me with fixing a new seat clip for the saddle as it was broken. They were friendly and super helpful. I was very relieved as I came up from London and couldn’t find a shop who had the right clip to fix. Thank you
