Full service

I would like to formally express my dissatisfaction with the general service carried out on my bicycle.

First of all, I would like to acknowledge that I was treated very well during my initial visit to the shop, when I dropped off the bicycle for the service, and again when I collected it. My dissatisfaction is therefore not related to the customer service I received, but rather to the quality of the work performed.

I delivered the bicycle on the agreed date, in fact two days before the scheduled service, as previously arranged. When I collected it, the first thing I noticed was that the brake lever configuration had been left in the standard UK setup, despite the fact that I use the European configuration. This may seem like a small detail, but it demonstrates a lack of attention to the specific setup of the bicycle and the customer's preferences.

I also noticed that the bicycle had not been cleaned prior to the service. I understand that I paid for a general service and not for a cleaning service. However, in my experience, cleaning a bicycle before carrying out maintenance allows for a more accurate inspection of the components and helps prevent contamination from dirt, sand, grease, oil, or other substances during the servicing process.

When I arrived home, I discovered that the rear wheel had been left loose. Considering that this is a carbon frame and that the clamping system is integrated into the frame itself, riding the bicycle in this condition could have damaged the frame threads and potentially created a serious safety issue.

This discovery prompted me to carry out my own inspection, during which I identified several concerns:

- I found no evidence that the wheel bearings had been inspected or serviced.
- I found no indication that the freehub had been removed and lubricated.
- The crankset did not appear to have been removed for inspection of the bottom bracket bearings.
- The brake fluid condition had not been checked or assessed.
- The rear derailleur had not been removed for cleaning and lubrication and was noticeably dry.
- The chain had been lubricated while still contaminated with dirt, dust, and sand.

Regarding the brakes, if additional work such as a brake fluid replacement was required at an extra cost, I would have expected to be informed and given the option to approve the additional work.

What disappointed me most was the impression that many of the key components that should be assessed during a general service did not receive the level of attention I would reasonably expect. I fully understand that a complete service requires time and that not every component necessarily requires replacement or extensive work. However, I expected a more thorough technical inspection of the bicycle's critical systems.

My dissatisfaction is not related to the price I paid. The issue is that I took the time to schedule the service, delivered the bicycle in advance, and ultimately left without confidence that the work had been carried out to the standard I expected.

I initially arranged to bring the bicycle back, but after carefully considering the overall experience, I decided not to do so. Instead, I will have future servicing carried out elsewhere.

I will continue to purchase parts and accessories from the shop when needed, but unfortunately I do not intend to use the workshop services again.

I sincerely hope that this feedback is received in the constructive manner in which it is intended and that it helps improve future service standards so that other customers do not have a similar experience.

Yours sincerely,

DEMÓCRITO NETO

Friendly, supportive, and familiar.

I bought a new bike and some necessary accessories, and the team (unsure if Andrew and Andy are the same person - but it was mainly one young man helping me) anticipated my needs well. For those that prefer delivery: I do suggest using Click & Collect because the store visit was worth the trouble for me.

Bike ordered from the website

I ordered an EMTB via the website and was contacted the same day by a member of the team at the Nottingham shop. They explained the process of preparation and their selection of the best day to post the bike out.

When it arrived it was in perfect condition due to the brilliant packaging with a few simple instructions to assemble the bike with the supplied tools.

BOTTOM BRACKET

Took my MTB in for urgent work. Wasn't booked in. Had to wait for a short time but managed to squeeze the job in just before the workshop closed. Andy Ramsdale the manager took the job on himself. 5*

Don’t waste your time…shop elsewhere

Today rang to check stock of a product told I stock product put aside drove 40mins to find out stock was not instock

Previously visited with my kids and even they said the vibe of the shop was stone cold with zero customer service

Will not shop with these again based on this.

Basic service failed multiple times.

Tried to support local bricks and mortar stores but genuinely don’t think they care one bit
