Great experience with the family, old and young. Loads of different attractions, fun and not too long - great day out, though some of the extras are pricey but still worth the day out

When we were planning our trip to London I was very excited to be able to go to Tussauds. I was so disappointed. Very loud, lots of flashing lights and so crowded you could barely move, let alone see... See more
Don't waste your money. You'll queue for ages, get ripped off on the price of a ticket and be hustled through a one way system and out on the streets within 30 minutes. Easily one of the worst tourist... See more

Some of the figures are amazing but as an amusement park it doesn't hold its merit.
Some of the figures are amazing and you can see a lot of effort was put into this, as well as the history behind it
but as an amusement park (and it is an amusement park) it doesn't hold its merit.
The content is shallow and unexciting.
Some of the rides are nice, but not worth the price.
At the end of the day, it is an over priced place to keep the kids busy for a few hours.
I would have hoped it would at least have some educational value, but it doesn't even offer that.
There are better things to do at London
The most awful experience in my life
The most awful experience in my life. Bought fast track tickets x 2 so it wasn't cheap and was really looking forward to celebrating with my sister for her 65th birthday today. Far far too many people were let in for our session at 11am, it was a totally unsafe experience almost bordering on the outrageous. Couldn't move, too hot, shoulder to shoulder and people pushing and shoving everybody, people jumping queues and tempers being lost. Staff were unable to cope with crowd control. I would not recommend visiting this attraction until it has been made safe. Totally unacceptable.
Poor people management
Despite booking ahead and selecting a time slot for our visit, my wife and I were made to stand outside in line for over an hour (in the rain) with people who needed to buy tickets. Once we got inside it was only because I explored that I realised you could use the machines to collect your tickets. This wasn't made clear by staff or signs at all. Now that we'd collected our tickets we got told to join another line outside again. No directions given - the whole thing was total chaos with people queue jumping, pushing and shoving.
When we finally got in (it's been around 1 hour 20 mins at this point) the venue was totally overcrowded. Far too many people pushing their way around to have their pictures taken with the waxworks - no staff to be seen other than those taking photos. We left feeling the experience could have been so much better if some basic queuing systems had been put in place.
DO NOT GO THERE
DO NOT GO THERE. DO NOT FALL INTO TOURIST CRAP I MEAN TRAP. Overpriced. terrible treatment. Claustrophobic, minimal display of mostly has beens. The worst part which they don't tell you is that they keep you waiting like cattle and stranded without any indication of how long the wait will be. Couldn't wait like others with us to get to the exit by the end. Plain and simple it's a rip-off, my advice is you can do much better things in London for the same price. Also they make you pay for souvenir photo 14 pounds!! It’s just a big scam to milk the tourists.
Despite being Fast Tracked it took ages…
Despite being Fast Tracked it took ages to get in. Queues not helped by taking a picture which we didn't want but had to do anyway. Far too many people inside to see all the exhibits which some were naff anyway. The queue for the Marvel Cinema was horrendous and when allowed in there was a near crush to get inside. There was no option to skip this which was annoying. The taxi cab ride was the only decent thing about the trip. I visited fifteen or so years ago and it was never as bad as this. Too many people inside ruined the entire experience for myself and my girlfriend.
would not recommend
Very long queues inside so difficult to see all the very outdated tatty waxworks. Which is probably a blessing. Another long queue to see the 4d experience. After waiting over 20 minutes we gave up waiting further when we were informed it would be at least another 10 mins. Very poor communication by what appear to be very bored staff. Very poor value for money. Would not recommend at all.

Overpriced ...overcrowded....rubbish customer service ...not enough toilets. Pay to go in and then some figures off limits unless you pay again. Chamber of horrors is no longer there.
Family trip
First time I have ever visited, the 4D experience was fantastic, but my overall impression is that there are not enough models, with many of them dated and no longer looking the way they do today. For the amount charged to enter and the amount of people visiting it should be a whole lot better.
What a disappointment madam tussauds not worth the money at all!!!
What a disappointment !! Rubbish no Robin williams my daughter was gutted ! No Ant & Dec. Could bearly move in there to many people badly run. Crap celebrities. Wont ever go again. Such a disapointment fill like i really let my daughter down taking her madam tussauds!!

Love it apart from alien was rubbish all the hype from staff before it starts and very disappointing all you see is three things that's it all the people that went in same time as me ft the same
Long queue
Long queue, I'm sure it's lovely inside, but it's not worth the wait. Made a restaurant booking based on the ticket time, so we'll rush our visit or miss lunch. Not a good day for a family outing.
Worth the long wait
Worth the long wait. If you haven't been to Masametussards yet I highly recommend it !

Never made it to the entrance
Below the complaint written to Madame Tussauds as well as Ticmate.
Ticmate has not only responded they've made a refund.
Madame Tussauds did ask for my contact details. However they have not been in contact since.
Ticmate's answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your email and feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with your purchase.
When customers are directed to the door for pre-paid tickets as intended, the queues are usually shorter than if you also buy your tickets in place, but sometimes there are unforeseen circumstances on the day which can create changes to the queuing system. This is handled by staff at Madame Tussauds and something we are not informed about if/when it happens. We are sorry that this affected your visit and will provide a full refund for your unused tickets. The refund will be made today, but please note that it might take a few working days before the transaction is visible on your account.
If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.
Kind regards,

The original letter
For Ticmate and Madame Tussuards
Complaint as to tickets purchased through Ticmate for a visit to Madame Tussuards planned to take place July the 21th.
Please note: Following letter is sent to each party. Having agreed to “partnership” where tickets bought through Ticmate are fully valid at Madame Tussuards, I hold you both equally responsible.
Ticmate’s Booking reference: Deleted for publication
Tickets bought under false pretences
We spend a few days in London from July the 19th to the 22th before going on a road trip through England and Wales (this being the reason for not contacting You sooner as we only just returned to Denmark). And decided on visiting Madame Tussuards.
Booking though Ticmate (in Denmark known as londonbilletter ) I was being led to understand that tickets bought at their website would give the visitor an advantage as to less waiting time.
Upon arrival we were directed to the entrance used for normal purchasing on the day of visit.
Viewing the que outside the door we decided to return later in the afternoon.
On return the que outside the door was slightly shorter and we joined up, only to find that once inside, the que was not only continuing through a room, but winding all the way. After about an hour wait, I went ahead and had a sneak peek through the next door, only to see another room with the que winding through after which a staircase followed and on top yet another room. Neither the till nor the entrance was to be seen.
There and then we (my daughter and I) decided on leaving.
The voucher has not been exchanged for tickets, as Your systems will show.
We talked to several people, from all over Europe, while waiting who had done exactly the same.
I feel I have been lured under false pretences to advanced purchased tickets through Ticmate as the promised advantage of less waiting time is not fulfilled nor is it any way supported by Madame Tussuards.
Needless to say, I believe I’m entitled to a ticket refund, amounting to dkr. Deleted for publication.
Furthermore: I will not use Ticmate again nor am I likely to wish for another visit to Madame Tussuards at any future stay in London. However, in the interest of future visitors I strongly recommend You to reconsider or redefine Your “partnership”.
I will place this letter as a review for Ticmate as well as Madame Tussuards on Trustpilote as well as on Tripadvisor.
Should you want to add any comment, I will delay publishing to August the 20th allowing ten working days for an answer. Your response will then be published together with the review.
Regards.
Long queues but amazing staff
The queues are well hidden, don’t be fooled at how long they actually are! Wasn’t amazing but giving 5 stars purely because of your helpful, friendly, overworked and under assisted staff! Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
Way to many People, and badly organiced queue
Way to many People. Ordered tickets online for 10:45, still had to queue with everyone else.
When we Got to the entrance the clock was 10:38, “its not your time yet, please exit the queue and go to the back of it”
“What are you talking about?”
(He was serious)
Payed entrance and thought that was it, sherlock and alien experience is extra and you have to pay for that inside.
They sure do heat they Can to rip you OFF.
Great place to spend your day and would…
Great place to spend your day and would go again it's a must see place. the kids love it
Booked online and paid just under £100…
Booked online and paid just under £100 for two people for the premium tickets to ‘avoid the queues’. We were informed although we had paid a premium and had a booked time this was not important and we have to queue for over an hour to gain entry. The alien experience is poor and definitely not worth paying any extra. All in all very disappointed, real shame.
Fare
Fare, fare to many people and extreme long ques and very badly organised- don’t do it.
Shocking!
Cant believe how over price this place is, we paid £90 for a 11.15 booked slot that meant nothing at all as we qued for 35 minutes anyway!! Even thou the wax works are very clever and great to see it really didn't out weight the pushing and shoving we experienced from other people. The marvel 4D was brilliant but again shocking how many times my 5 year old son got pushed to the floor by grown men! Would never go again and wouldn't recommend to any one I liked!
