File conversion worked perfectly. Didn't want any automatic subscription to start so emailed and Lisa immediately cancelled it. No annoying hoops to jump through (which we all know is really annoying)... See more

I signed up to be able to create a PDF. I just needed to create 1 PDF so I signed up for the $0.99 plan for 1 week. Unfortunately I was not familiar with the product and didn't cancel properly. I was... See more

DO NOT USE THIS. They charge you hidden fees which is a scam. I stupidly paid $1.39 for a pdf conversion, and they charged me $56.08 monthly twice without my consent which I never agreed to. Most expe... See more

I mistakenly signed up for a service I did not want. When I asked for a refund the response was immediate and very friendly. Very impressed with their efficiency and kindness.

I to fell for the 0.99p

I to fell for the 0.99p - what I thought was a one off fee. Next thing £29.99 came out my account. Immediately got a refund under the 2013 consumer rights act 14 day cooling off period. No problem getting it, but I'm sick of these money grabbing dishonest companies, tricking you into subscriptions. They hope you won't notice. Gone are the days of any honesty, stay well away!

Misleading Subscription Trap

I used Makemepdf.com for what appeared to be a £0.99 one-time PDF conversion.

Shortly after, I discovered a £29.99 recurring subscription had been applied, disclosed only in very small, easy-to-miss text at checkout.

I did not knowingly consent to a recurring charge. This feels deliberately misleading and is exactly the kind of dark-pattern subscription practice UK consumers should be wary of.

I contacted my bank immediately and requested cancellation and a refund from the company.

If you only want a one-off PDF conversion, be extremely careful — there are many free or transparent alternatives available.

I would not use this service again.

It's a scam, don't give your credit card details at all

I tried unsuccessfully to convert a file to PDF for 1.99, only to find out that I had been charged £29.99 twice in two months. Don't use this service, it's a scam. When I tried to cancel it, which I did, they offered a two-year subscription, unlimited, for 1.99. This is evidence that they are aware it's a scam.

The website is a scam

The website is a scam . It says $1 for 5 days period. However I was charged 29.99 a few days later for a monthly subscription without being given any notice.
Deliberately deceitful website. Plus it doesn’t work as a pdf converter!

Refund not received

I was charged twice originally, $1 USA, each dollar entitled me to 5 days, so a total of 10 days. On the 6th day I logged in to finish what I was doing and was charged $57.62 CDN and change. I requested a refund and was told MAKEMEPDF would refund the $57. on Dec 8th I was sent an email from Support saying had processed the refund on Dec 8th, 2025. and then Lisa from MAKEMEPDF sent an email on Dec 12, 2025 saying 'there might be a technical issue on our side and you will would see it in 3-5 days. The last email from her said 'It would be processed as soon as possible." It is now Dec 29th. . . I have reported to my bank as fraud.
