Maki Car Rental Reviews 

I have rented a car with Maki from March 17th to 23rd, 2019, from airport to airport. Rented i20, asked for rather automatic and got it, Maki person was there at the airport during pickup and drop-off, do not have to wait. They clearly told me how GPS works, where to drop off the car, on the documents and insurance. Very competitive rates, very clean car. GPS works perfectly. Very happy with their service and the car.

We had a cruise ship to meet before it sailed, and limited time from our flight arrival to get to the port. As we were one of the last passengers off the flight, and the long immigration queues we were concerned that we might not make our cruise.
Our Maki driver promptly met us at the front of the terminal and off to the carpark. The vehicle made a great first impression - new and CLEAN! The rest of the drive to Port Louis was uneventful. We were given some info about the areas we drove past, and the country in general. Our driver was knowledgeable, well spoken and had us arriving at the port in time for the next part of our journey.
It certainly took the hassle out of the short transfer window having our Maki Transfer pre-arranged. Would highly recommend the service. Book was easy, fast and efficient. The service in Mauritius was great.

We changed our original Booking reducing by one day and booked a driver from Airport to port Louis .with Maki . Driver was waiting and delivered us to our Hotel seamlessly. Our MAKI car was delivered on time next day and given back at Port 3 days later. The cancelled day was refunded promptly. Good service Thank you

My boyfriend and I rented a car from Maki Car Rental for our week long vacation in Mauritius. We ended up with a Hyundai Grand i10 (we weren't particular on the model, we just wanted an automatic transmission), which was in great condition. Maki has it's own app, which made it easy to communicate with the company for pick-up at the airport (the airport has WiFi) and drop off at the airport afterwards. Pick up and drop off were both seamless, someone was waiting at the airport with a sign with our name on it when we arrived and then met us up at departures when we needed to drop it off. It was very convenient for us to have a car to explore Mauritius, we got to see a lot more of the country that we likely wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. I highly recommend using Maki Car Rental when visiting Mauritius!

I did a lot of research on hiring a car in Mauritius and eventually settled with Maki because of the general good genuine looking reviews and the price which was far less than the Avis/Hertz of the world. The chaos from West car rental whom Maki arranged the car rental for were waiting for me with a clear sign when I exited customs. They went through the paperwork and payment process efficiently and took me to my car, which was clean inside and out. Car was in good shape and at drop off when my petrol was slightly below the level I bought it at, the guy let it go with a smile, not slapping on extra fees as a lot of others would have done. They were professional and I felt at no stage would they try to cheat me in any way. Both Maki and West were great and I would definitely book with them again.

Our experience was great. The people giving you the car and taking it back are really nice. Way cheaper and faster than the well known companies. They wait for you at the airport door with your name and in 10 minutes you are moving!

Old car, with a lot of noise and bad odor. I don’t know about he rest of their fleet, but the car I rented had lots of scratches. They delivered the car with 20% gasoline at 11pm, so I had to hurry to a gas station in the morning. The good thing was I hadn’t go anywhere far and my hotel was near the airport. The GPS didn’t help at all. Every address I tried led me nowhere. Thank god I saved the maps on Google Maps. It’s cheap, so you have to be careful.

Briliant from start to finish. This is the 2nd time that I have used Maki Car Rental when holidaying in Mauritius and both times they have been faultless. Both professional & courteous, their delivery was prompt and efficient. Their prices were extremely competitive in comparison and any follow ups were dealt with immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend them without reservation and will certainly be using them again ....and again.

Pick up was on time from the airport in Mauritius. Drop off was effortless. the car was great. Overall a very good experience with Maki Car Rental. I would definitely recommend this company and I would use them again without hesitation.

It looked great at first, the booking and website itself worked flawlessly. The confirmation emails with links to add booking tickets to iOS Passport looked like a nice touch as well.

Things started to go wrong when my flight got delayed. I found out as I tried to board. I frantically email and make international phone calls trying to get a hold of maki to ask them what I should do. No response. I spend the next **THREE DAYS** trying to get a hold of them waiting for a response.

When I finally get a reply it's things like this:

"I am sorry for the late reply but unfortunately our office is not open 24/7.
As per my phone conversation with our partner, you have already informed them about the postponed flight. Also as per them, you will contact them again as soon as you know your new arrival details so that our partner can check if he can make the necessary changes.
Wishing you a nice day ahead."

Then silence again until:

"I regret to inform you that your booking request has just been rejected by our partner in Mauritius. I'm afraid that our partner does not have any car available due to an extension."

This was as I was boarding the rescheduled flight.

I could have paid to hold the car, in my head the interaction should have gone like this:
Day 0: Hello my flight was delayed
Day 1: Ok we will reschedule, but you need to prepay to hold the car, here's the link.
Day whenever I arrive: no stress continue to use the car as planned.

I had an excellent experience with this company. The booking process was easy. They also have an app that makes things easier. I rented the cheapest car but I regretted it and asked to upgrade. The upgrade process was smooth. We agreed on a price but they actually ended up charging much less. I was in Mauritius. I highly recommend them.

Very fresh new car with premium tyres Goodyear. GPS included, worked fine. Excellent instructions for pick up and return of the car. Outstanding app for instant communication. Possibility to pre write rental information like driving license, passport, address and phone make the rental process very quick and smooth. Phone/SMS provided for different occasions just in case.
The feeling is that Maki Car Rental is way ahead of their competitors like Avis, Hertz, Budget, Six and other, to a lower price. I can highly recommend Maki Car Rental.

The car arrived at the time agreed, was exactly the model we expected and was thoroughly cleaned inside and out. The addition of a sat nav proved to be very helpful. We will certainly use Maki on our next visit to Mauritius.

An excellent experience. Car Hire and Taxi Service from and too the airport was faultless. The tracking of the hire car whilst in Mauritius was a bonus, as a woman on her own. I had no need of the service, but the fact that it was part of the package was very reassuring.
