Who writes a a positive review about an estate agent most of us don’t do we. We write when we have a gripe and we leave it usually if experience is good.

Well I cannot just ignore giving a good review.

Sue has been amazing and staff here Martin & Co Leeds treat me equally as a tenant as they do my landlord.

That shows any issue with the property is sorted in good time any repairs or just general enquiries, inspection visits are a good catch up in the time that is convenient to me & are a chat rather than an interrogation.

In my opinion the best letting agent I have dealt with.

Having recently moved to Leeds and being our first time renting. Martin & Co have been great in helping us with the process. Having moved in and had a few issues with the apartment, I would like to leave a special mention for our property manager Sue. Sue has been excellent at getting all issues resolved and keeping us updated.

My first rodeo in rentals and working with M&Co has gone relatively smoothly. Obviously there's always going to be little hiccups, but in the grand scheme of things they have been brilliant! I have used the services of Martin & Co approaching 10 years. Their service has been consistently excellent to the point where I automatically switch to them from less favoured poorer performing agents.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. A special mention to Sue Wilson whose communication is faultless and most appreciated.

Truly the worst service I have ever received from an estate agent. Sue was ‘handling’ the purchase of what was supposed to be my new home. I was shown round the property and immediately made an offer of the asking price after falling in love with the property, he offer was accepted. Sue then asked me multiple times to get a solicitor appointed so that we could begin the process. I appointed a solicitor, paid them and began my purchase. 3 and a half weeks later I receive a phone call from Sue explaining that the tenant had decided to put an offer in on the flat higher than the asking price. I was promised a phone call within an hour and a half (before close of business) to confirm if this had been accepted. The following day I received a half hearted email confirming that but the higher offer was accepted with no regard to the fact I had appointed and paid solicitors. It is clear this agency have no principal and care only about money. I will NEVER be using them again, truly appalled

Seems like Brexit is playing it’s part on the letting market too.
Contacted Martin & Co to enquire about a property that has just been put on the market to be let, literally called a few minutes after it landed on Rightmove.
I was told someone will call me as soon as they get the keys for the property to arrange a viewing. Of course no one did.
I called again the next day just to be told I will be contacted again. I was sent an email asking about our situation to which I replied even though I gave all those details the day before on the phone.
Of course no one contacted me.
Today I call again just to be told that they are fully booked for viewings on this property.
Discrimination at its finest.
I have lived in this country for 10 years and I have never been treated so poorly.
This is not the first estate agent to treat me like this because of my foreign name. This time I will take it further.

I have been a tenant with Martin & Co for 4 years, from day one they have been there for me through any problem I have encountered. Any incident reported has been swiftly and professionally sorted. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. I would have no reservations about recommending Martin & Co to other potential customers.

The negative really outweighs the positives here. To begin with, the company sometimes ignores their phones, only for me to visit and see them all away from their desks and chatting. Also note that the property itself was a mess upon moving in.

They got our names wrong on numerous occasions: once on our contract so we had to sign another, twice on emails (calling my friend a completely different first name with a different first letter), and worst of all on our DPS which resulted in a long process to clear a cheque for a deposit as the name was wrong.

A positive is throughout the tenancy, they carried numerous checks, and fixed things when required.

However the worst occurred on our checkout. The landlord under them requested a full deposit, with the potential of further charges and the threat of court action. The charges were mainly toward redecorating and fixing things that was already broke prior to our moving in. As you may know, it is the landlord's responsibility to redecorate from general wear and tear and not the tenant, especially for a period over 2 years. Also note that the property was a mess upon moving in, and they also charged us for cleaning despite the condition being a lot better than initial move in. Needless to say, we won a huge sum of our deposit back after a review from DPS.

This deposit issue happened during a pandemic when we were already struggling financially with being furloughed, and the last news we wanted to hear was a company charging us unfair amounts for something they should be responsible for. This resulted in a very long process of acquiring a sum of our deposit. Absolutely despicable ethics!!

Had a good experience with Martin and Go. Really helpful and friendly staff gave us the right advice when we were looking for a house to rent when we moved to Leeds.
