Don't be swayed by the negative reviews. Massdrop is completely legit and can save you a bunch of money.

Ordered a 55" OLED 4k TV on Sunday, received it on Friday. Not a scratch on it. Saved hundreds of dollars and got a price better than the shadiest of online electronics sellers. The communication from order placement to delivery was as good as what Amazon would provide. I haven't received any unnecessary e-mails since. Massdrop deserves a much higher rating. I would highly recommend them for a 4k TV purchase.

Massdrop is a disorganized mess

Massdrop is a disorganized mess. They will treat you as if they are doing you a favor, rather than as a valued customer—or, on that note, as a customer at all. It's one thing to purchase an item knowing you'll have to wait 2–3 months for it to even ship, but having experienced upwards of 30 "drops", I've found that there is a delay on top of that more often than not.

You'll also see an MSRP or something of the like on most drop pages, but be warned! The MSRP is as useless here as it is on Amazon. Very frequently you can find the exact same item at the same price or less elsewhere, and if you purchase it elsewhere you won't have to wait the obligatory, unreasonable amount of time to receive it like you would on Massdrop.

Cowboys

Massdrop really screwed over their European customers on a recent drop, displaying the MSRP on the packaging rather than the actual price paid. This led to their customers being overcharged on taxes and import duty.
Additionally they are just ignoring any contact regarding this. A company to use IF you want to be ripped off due to their incompetence.

Major Flaws in Distribution & Shipping

Purchased a dashcam for a good price, yet it malfunctioned soon after receiving it. MassDrop Support arranged to ship a replacement, however the item received was not even the item shown on the invoice. A 2nd replacement item was shipped and this time I received 2 of the same incorrect items. Despite me showing them that they had a major issue with incorrect identification & packaging of the items, for the 3rd time they shipped the same incorrect item in replacement. Unfortunately despite the positive email exchanges with MassDrop Support, the "meat & potatoes'' of the overall experience has been far from acceptable. Incompetent to say the least & a very, very poor MassDrop experience.

A good site for what it is

Having placed several orders on Massdrop, I can understand why people are frustrated by the site. There is little communication, and delays are common.

However, none of it is out of expectations if you read their T&Cs and understand the wait times involved. It's not a scam site, so you will get your product eventually. And so far I am happy with mine and with the prices I bought them at.

On the prices not being good enough of a deal, again it really depends on the particular drop. Some drops have had fantastic prices and others are more expensive than what you can find on Amazon. Still, I don't think they should be badly just for that.

If you find something that is a great price that can't be found elsewhere, and you don't mind waiting a while for it to arrive, then this is a pretty good place to peruse.

However, it is a rather inefficient company, with unexpected delays that aren't communicated very well. If you can't stand that, then this isn't a place you should spend time on.

This isn't Amazon. Deal with it.

This company really and I stress really gets a bad rap. They update their forums but there is certainly a substantial amount of witch hunting that goes on in the comments.

I have ordered several times through them and have ALWAYS received the product. There were two times the product was shipped significantly later than expected and guess what the reasons were: delays in production on the VENDOR'S end.

Whether or not the wait is worth it, is entirely up to you. Aside from frequent apologetic updates and 100% satisfaction to refund your money, I'm not sure what else they can do. It seems to me people want what they want and they want it now. No excuses.

Give them a shot and a fair shake. I will continue to order and tell people about this site.

Won't honor their pricing mistakes- STAY AWAY FROM THESE IDIOTS!!!

This company DESERVES A (-10) rating. For starters, they offered a Canon Flash Unit for $1. sure the price was wrong and they cancelled the order because of the error - but the error SHOULD NOT HAVE OCCURED in the first place! Where is the quality control? Doesn't someone there have enough sense to PROOFREAD what is being offered for sale/and the price BEFORE it is uploaded to the site to be offered for sale? When I emailed Massdrop about this, they only offered a measly $20 credit towards a future order. I advised Masdrop they should have offered to split the difference between the wrong price and the price they were going to price the item at ($200). AWFUL COMPANY. And they NEED A PHONE NUMBER THAT THEY ARE GOING TO ANSWER CUSTOMER INQUIRIES! If they answer your email within 48 hours, PLAY THE LOTTERY, BECAUSE IT IS YOUR LUCKY DAY!

Horribe Customer Service - They dont respond on their own forums. SAD.

The idea is a great idea, buy in bulk for a lower price!
Then comes the wait, sure, its a long wait.
They have forums to communicate about items, but if you try to communicate back to Massdrop, it goes unheard. They NEVER respond.

I have an item I purchased in october, guess what. I paid for it in OCT..... but it sure hasnt shipped yet. (one part of the pack is delayed) Many of their customers asked to get what was available now, and pay for extra shipping for the part that is delayed. Sounds fair enough.

Massdrop hasnt even ACKNOWLEDGED the request. They dont tend to feel their customers are all that important.

Ive purchased a lot of items from them, but that was the nail in the coffin.... Service has always been HORRIBLE, but after this. No way in hell am I going to purchase from them again.....

PS, generally it takes a good month or more for me to get items from Massdrop. I can usually find the same item, cheaper before I get the one I purchased from massdrop.

MASSDROP, I am informing you of this review, unfortnately I do not believe you care enough to respond..... if you did, you would respond to your customer requests on your OWN WEBSITE!!!!
3 thumbs down for massdrop.

Completely unresponsive. Terrible experience.

I just joined and made one purchase. I see they've charged me twice for the same thing. When I look at my Massdrop account I see only one purchase. However, when I look at my credit card statement there are two bills. I've emailed Massdrop. No response. They apparently don't have a phone number. Can anyone suggest a way to get their attention?

There is great chances of a top deal on the site, though often it would only be a lukewarm deal, but it does depend on the manufacturer.
The only problem there is, is that the dollar has a high value at the moment

Prices OK but not worth the onslaught of spam that won't stop no matter what you do.

I've purchased a few items through massdrop.com. The prices were OK - nothing out of this world. The products were decent and delivery can take some time while they build up enough purchases to actually get the price from the mfg. I wanted to be a happy customer who shared with others where to get a decent deal... But...

The bad part is once you buy from them, they will inundate you with spam mail and it does not matter what you do to get off their list, they will not take you off it. I've unchecked every communication type and selected the global "take me off ALL lists" option several times - all to no avail.
They basically are illegal spammers and the worst culprits of it. The so-called deals are not worth the aftermath of email abuse.

My advice - unless you just like getting daily junk mail (sometimes multiple items per day) - and often for the exact same items day after day, week after week - that you didn't ask for or worse, told them to stop and they didn't, it's simply not worth it. Stay away.

if a company won't even honor their own "unsubscribe" process, they must have little to no integrity and cannot be trusted. Just MHO.

Enlist yourself to email abuse at your own risk.
Oh, and as a last resort, I've selected "Let Massdrop know about your review" - maybe they'll take me off their lists after reading this!
NOTHING else has worked.

MONTHS behind on fulfilling my order that I was charged for 3 months ago!

Order placed on Oct 17, 2016 and it's now Jan 12, 2017. Still no solid information on when I can expect my product. The updates they've been giving are terrible. Every 2 weeks they say, "No new info, we'll give you another update in 2 weeks." They've done nothing to show customers that they are sorry for the delay or that they sympathize with us, knowing that they missed the original promised ship date of mid November, then also missed Christmas. I understand that they work with vendors to produce their deals, but in a situation like this, the vendor is not fulfilling their end of the bargain, FIND A NEW VENDOR! We have been notified that orders are shipping from quite a few other vendors within a day or two of orders being placed. This situation has turned from bad to worse and MassDrop does not seem to care...

Terrible Experience

Total lack of communication. Waited over 3 months for a shipment and didn't get an ounce of concrete detail. Avoid MassDrop at all costs people. It's not worth the small amount you could potentially save.

Promised a ship date of November 15th. Still haven't delivered.

Charged my credit card on October 15th, the day the "order was placed". Yeah right. All they share is vague responses about having to contact the vendor, and then delaying the shipment of my Mavic again and again. DJI experienced production delays, but Massdrop has been intentionally vague and offering zero information to its 350 remaining customers on the drop. They don't deserve my money or yours. Buy elsewhere.

After waiting over 2 months I was told my item was damaged in shipping so they decided it was better just to cancel my order, while they went ahead and fulfilled the rest of the "drop". Savings is minimal to none over amazon (especially if you have Prime free 2 day shipping) and at least there sellers have accountability.

No delivery date..

I ordered something with a shipping date of 12/15. Well on 12/15 I get a notification that while some of the members will have their items shipped on 12/21, the remainder (of which I am one) will be included in the next shipping date-but no indication of when that is!
I sent an email trying to cancel but no response.
You can find all the offered products for a similar price if you look elsewhere with shipping the day you order-not unknown shipping dates!!
First and only order.

Not worth the hassle

Ordered a pair of running shoes for a modest discount (saved about $20). Close to a month has passed without the shipment. Updates are late and customer service does not respond. Just a generic "we are very busy" response. Plus, one cannot post to their discussion board asking for information.

No bargain is worth this shoddy service. Never again!
