NOT A HAPPY BUNNY

NOT A HAPPY BUNNY - Went to view a car which was only 1 owner and 76000 miles. Must not have been 1 careful owner as there were scratched all over the place, marks where it the paint work was taken down to base level. Bad buffing on paint work, 1 large dent and the rest well... so badly chipped in places you could see white coming through AND THE CAR WAS BLACK. Strangely, although they knew I was coming, the car had been put back into the showroom, only to have to come out again but the engine was HOT telling me that it was run to possibly hide other 'bad things'.

Took it back into the day light where it should have been left after being run only to see that there was not one part of the car that didn't have scratches dents and all sorts.

Didn't even test drive it!!!! What a waste of my time.

Was told that after my comments it would be sent back to the detailers. Forgive me for wanting to shout 'if you have detailers, should it not have gone there first so that the car was ready for sale'. Was also told that it is a 4 year old car - my 14 year old car isn't in that bad a state paintwork wise! I doubt its gone anywhere let alone detailers. Also strange that there were 4 air fresheners in the car if it had just been cleaned!!! The whole thing had my spider senses on overdrive.

HOW HARD CAN IT BE FOR A GARAGE TO BE HONEST?

AVOID - 0 Stars for if possible!!!

Saw BMW 640d for sale on website. Sent them an email asking for some more details regarding the car, service history etc nothing unusual.
Did not receive a response, I had to send an email chasing a reply - the first sign of the terrible customer service / manners I should have picked up on.

When I finally got a reply I was told the paint work is in poor condition on the passenger side and they would NOT send any more pictures?!?!?!?! Buying a car and can't send pictures in 2018??
I checked the pictures uploaded by them on their website for this car and you cannot tell there is any damage from the angle and lighting they used for photos, very deceptive and untrustworthy from them.
It is a high mileage vehicle with poor body work and they wouldn't negotiate on price when the only question I asked was 'what is the best price?'
The car has since had 2 price drops which I can only assume from my experience is down to the lack of any intelligence or competency when it comes to selling a car by the staff running the place.
AVOID if you want professional, helpful and responsive service when buying a car.

Response to below reply:
Hi Jay,

Thank you for your ‘speedy’ reply. Yes I am aware of the pictures on the website, which do not show the poor paintwork you advised on. A reasonable request would be to see images of this damage, while I agree there are many photos on your website, none of them show this damage which is the most important part and your refusal to send more pictures was gobsmacking!

With regards your expecting the world comment, I asked questions about the car history and condition of the vehicle. I did not demand or expect the car to be in brand new condition or imply I thought it was! “With Respect” you clearly can’t defend the awful customer service I have experienced from your company!!

Oh and prices are clearly not fixed as in the last 30 days there has been 2 price drops!

Reply since the company has re-edited their reply below:
Since they are trying to imply I asked for things, I was demanding things, not getting my way and generally being an unreasonable person I think it's best to just paste the email thread for everyone to see and highlight how much they are lying on public sites to convince others they were genuine and in the right.
As you will see in email thread below, they DO say there is paintwork damage to the car, even if I do have to chase them to get this answer (Great Service ay?!)! Then in the very SAME email they say they won't send pictures of the damage!!! Since I've posted this review their story has changed to no damage to paint work on the car and in perfect condition....highlighting their trustworthiness!

Quiet frankly I am done responding to you lies and insinuation against me as customer when all I did is send 2 emails and 1 email chasing an answer as I was ignored. As everyone will see from email thread below everything I have posted is accurate and for this reason no response from you is required as this review is done now!

Email Thread:

Hi,

Thank you for your timely reply. Could you please advise who I am speaking with?
There was no sign off from a company email which was very unusual!

Was the car in accident do you know?
Could you please send pictures showing this damage?
From the pictures uploaded this damage is not clear at all, almost hidden.
Is there any damage to the leather interior or cabin?

Thanks.

Kind Regards,

Paul

Subject: 2013 BMW 640d (RegistrationBJ13 FUF) Enquiry

Hi,

I am enquiring about the 2013 BMW 640d (RegistrationBJ13 FUF) you have listed on Autotrader. Could you please confirm the car is still available for sale?

I would like some information regarding this vehicle if you would be so kind as to answer the below questions.

1. Has the car ever been in accident or needed repair work?
2. If work or repairs has been done, where and when was the repair work done? BMW approved garage or an independent garage?
3. The Car has 117K miles on the clock and there is no mention of a service history for the car!?!? Could you please send me a photo of all the repair and service history records of the vehicle? I would like to know specific details of what work was done, where the work was done and what mileage the work was done at.
4. Has the EGR cooler been replaced or any work done on it? BMW are doing a technical campaign as there have been numerous reports of issues with the N57(engine type).
5. Is the car eating coolant? i.e consuming coolant at a quick rate.
6. How much tyre thread is on each of the tyres? Will they need replacing soon?
7. Any issues with the timing chain? Will it need replacing soon?
8. Does the car have the reversing camera installed?
9. Is there any damage done to the paint work of the car? Any scratches, chips or key marks?
10. The advertised listing is for £14,450. Is this the trade in price or straight cash price of the vehicle?

Lastly could you please send me an image of each alloy on the car? I would like to see the condition of each alloy and check for curb damage etc.

I look forward to your response.

Kind Regards,

Paul

We gave you the information you needed on the car, even though on your long list of questions some were ridiculous. there are 50 or more pictures on the website, The prices are Fixed as we are the cheapest in the Uk, If a vehicle has had smart preparation no crime has been committed, 'With Respect' we wouldn't like to sell a car to a customer like yourself purely because we feel your out of touch with reality, Your trying to buy a car which has covered 118000 miles and are asking for the world.
Our Team work extremely hard in running this business, we do not deceive and in fact are very trustworthy.
Regards Jay

Hi Paul
There is no damage on the vehicle as I mentioned, the pictures are a true representation of what we are selling.
With regards to pricing unfortunately they are fixed at the point of sale, unless management decide to lower which is not normally the case.
Quite frankly, even if your view regarding our customer service is a 1 star or minus its not an concern for us. Your not getting your own way hence the negative review.
Any body reading this should know we are a straight forward company, and pride our selfs on the relaxed and friendly way our customers are treated.
