Overall I rate McGill’s 3 stars as there are many polite bus drivers & the x23 service I usually use is on time besides being too early on a few occasions. However I have a complaint about one... See more

19th century public transport
This is a fkn joke not a public transport. Timetables does not work, always late or not coming at all, 2 miles journey takes 2 hours, dirty, stinky busses, rude drivers. Totall crap. That’s a fkn 3rd world country with the 19th century publik transport run by imbeciles.
Poor reliability and no communication
Twice in a few days the No 10 hadn't turned up. Phone the office who know nothing about this and give the same excuse about the bus had just broken down.
Never know so many broken down buses!!
Will be using a different bus company from now on.
38 drove past me with my hand up
I was standing with my hand up to get on the 38 on paisley road west. He started signalling as if he was going to stop at the bus stop then just drove straight past it while making eye contact with me. I will never be getting over this i am engraged and disappointed by mcgills busses. Do better.

Arogant driver!
Went home on the bus at 14.05 from Blendfield to Stirling .As soon I step on bus i ask for tickets!Driver didn't even say haloo back to me! He was angry hitting ticket machine! I gave him exact amount of cash in hand He replied what piece of shite! Sitting there arrogantly .I ask him If he is alright he said arogantly not I am not!!! A other time to work ! Driver was driven mad!.I stood up and ask him to slow down! Using these services now for two years .Not all of them are like this but this is so unpleasant and irresponsible driving! Most of to.e young drivers and older too! Also is the miracle to get through customer services! They don't answer the phone! They don't reply for mails! Left couple of people's on the bus stop! Also beeping for every one they don't like! This is horrible ondrly no nice service! In my two years I had to travel by bus ! But is very unpleasant when someone behaving to you like this!
Bus 26
The driver on bus 26 Glasgow towards Braehead was lacking professionalism with his abrupt responses and lack of patience on Sunday the 31st of August around 4 PM. We all have bad days, I hope for his future business prospects they are few. Having patience is real strength.
Put On Public Bus Transport Instead Of Coach
I purchased a round trip ride from the cruise port in Greenock to Glasgow. I boarded the McGill bus along with 6 to 8 other cruise passengers. We were then driven around the corner, told to get out and were put onto a public transport bus to Glasgow. A employee from McGills coordinated this transfer said "they don't like to run buses that aren't full". She gave no additional instructions to us about where to get off or return. As it was public transport, the bus stopped several times while enroute to pick up additional local riders, it was not the direct ride I had paid for. I had no idea where to get off, but upon arriving to the central area of Glascow, near George Square, the public bus driver said to get off at the next stop and I did. When it was time to return, I went back to where I was left off and found out it was not the correct location. At this point, I did consult the McGills brochure and read that the bus picks up at the Buchanan Bus Station and walked over there. While waiting for the bus, I spoke to the employees of McGills, I suggested that if public transport is used, it would be helpful if the person that assists would tell people where to get off and back on again. The employees were so rude! "Do you expect us to talk to 4000 people? You were given a brochure, read it!" I said, this was an exception, we were put on public transport, unfortunately, not a one of the 4 employees was kind or receptive. Secondly, I surely didn't pay to be put on public transport. I'm sure if I had paid the local bus directly, it would have significantly less expensive. Not a good experience, not recommended!
First Class Service
Fantastic service from the Driver of the 61 bus at 6.30pm on Sunday to Foxbar. He made contact with every passenger, to make their journey considerate and pleasurable. A real credit to your company.

First time I travelled on McGill's coaches
First time I travelled on McGill's coaches to Largs,I found their coaches very clean and spacious, drivers to and from my destination were polite and curtious. A wee lesson to the other coach companies whose drivers don't even acknowledge you boarding their vehicle and show some distain if you take too long boarding.

Yet again I waited over 40 minutes for a bus that didn’t turn up, this is a regular occurrence always late or don’t arrive 85% of drivers are rude verging on aggressive this company needs a serious shake up.
Worst service
Driver was so unhelpful and didn't even stop at the bus stop where several people were waiting. It was 1 minute early so I ran when I was a few yards away but when I complained that he didn't stop, he said that I wasn't at the bus stop even though he must have seen me a couple of yards away by the time he got there and forced me to run to the next stop. This was the 2.35 bus to Kingswells.
Oh no not again
Oh no not again! The ghost service 395 fails to show YET AGAIN! Do the people running McGills actually realise how inadequate this service can be? Let down so often I’m actually surprised that I feel let down!
Amazing bus driver experience with Ross
We have had a fantastic experience with McGill midland blue buses. Our driver on the 51 bus, Ross, went above and beyond to help us with a complication in our journey. He was extremely professional, accommodating, and ultimately very kind and helpful. Thank you so much Ross, you truly saved us!
- From two girls on the bus
Great experience Aberdeen direct to Edinburgh Airport.
Did a return journey from Aberdeen to Edinburgh Airport and was very impressed with the service provided. The buses were on time, clean and comfortable and the drivers polite and helpful. A great stress free start and end to our holiday. I would recommend this service and will use it the next time I fly from Edinburgh.
Would you take Aberdeen to Edinburgh Flybus?
First time trying McGills going from Aberdeen to Edinburgh - I can't believe what we have been missing all this time. £2 to go and return to Edinburgh Airport! Whole experience from initial booking to journey absolutely amazing. Bus was there before due pick up - drivers so friendly and polite - you don't even have to lift your suitcases - all done for you. Buses are so clean, comfortable and smooth, charging point for your phones. Bus lane use means not as much queues as we normally have going by car. This company really impressed me with their friendliness attention to detail and impeccable organisation. I will seriously never take my car that journey again - I will do this stress free journey! It was even a quicker journey due to the fact they can use bus lanes -, we were there direct apart from wee stop for 5 minutes in Dundee. A caring organisation we don't have much of nowadays.
NO CUSTOMER CONCERN
My elderly Sister who is 84 years of age, was a passenger on one of McGills buses (No. 545 ) traveling to Greenock Town Centre on Saturday, 7th June 2025. A trip she normally does every week going to have her hair done and get some food shopping.
But as a result of an incident that occurred and with no warning, she was violently thrown from her seat onto the floor. When she regained awareness, she was disoriented, in shock, and severely traumatized. Fellow passengers assisted her, but due to the severity of her injuries—including acute chest pain and significant bleeding from her lip—an ambulance was called, requiring her to be taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Where she received treatment for her injuries, and an X-ray confirmed that she had suffered a fractured sternum. Morphine and cocodamol were administered to manage the extreme pain.
Although the attending Doctor advised her to remain in hospital for observation, she opted to return home as she was eager to be in a familiar environment. However, As she was without her phone, she was unable to contact me (her brother) for assistance and had to arrange a taxi to return home.
As I say, she is 84 years old, and being a widow, and living alone—this incident has left her feeling profoundly vulnerable. Her existing limited mobility was further severely impacted, making even basic tasks difficult. She has been unable to climb the stairs to her bedroom and has taken to sleeping in the living room. Additionally, she required assistance from "INDEPENDENT LIVING" to obtain equipment that enables her to use essential facilities.
Beyond the physical injuries, this ordeal has significantly disrupted her daily life. She missed a scheduled hair appointment and was unable to complete her shopping, but even more distressing, she now feels trapped inside her own home, unable to maintain her usual routines or independence.
Despite the severity of the incident, she received no form of communication from McGills regarding her welfare, - until she raised a complaint - and has now been advised the Greenock Depot Manager will respond within within 7 days, to be fair, McGills representative at this point did offer her compassion for my sisters discomfort,
But my sister has no recollection of the driver showing concern at the time. This overall lack of response is deeply disappointing, and I’m sure enable you to understand why she feels aggrieved.
Thankfully, along with her neighbour's, my wife and myself have been supporting her.
However, the anxiety and trauma she has experienced, stem directly from this event. She is still reliant on pain relief and additional medication to manage the side effects of her treatment.
So as I write, McGills have 3 more days to reply within there advised time frame.
A cautionary warning for anyone requiring to use McGill Transport - it should come with a health warning.
I think this is another example about the lack of CUSTOMER FOCUS by McGills, only recently they removed a bus service - which was heavily relied upon by the residents where my sister lives - causing great inconvenience to many, the reason provided was it apparently is uneconomical, not any thought for the passengers needs.
