Overall I rate McGill’s 3 stars as there are many polite bus drivers & the x23 service I usually use is on time besides being too early on a few occasions. However I have a complaint about one... See more

Always late and never on time and…
Always late and never on time and that'san every day thing! The app doesn't work and shows different names, i had to wait 1 hour for a bus that was supposed to show up at 5:19pm but never arrived until 6pm
Very bad service
Very bad service when dealing with these buses. I do not advise anyone to buy a monthly ticket because their bus schedules are bad and they do not care about the customer. The buses are late. I do not advise anyone to deal with them.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

The bus driver literally drove right by me! i’ve never seen a bus service so rude.
Very rude driver experience
Bus driver very rude accusing me of leaving when I just moved up to the end of the bus stop (because there was another bus in front and he was actually the one that was about to leave me) then proceeded to ask “whats the matter with you.” as if I was stupid or something. Extremely rude. Do not recommend, I wouldn’t say all drivers are like this but this one particular one was very rude and was driving extremely fast. By the way this was bus 374 Silverburn Saturday 17th May 4:33pm and the driver arrived late yet I get told what was wrong with me. P.s Before that very rude of a bus driver showed up a shawlands bus showed up and I asked him if the bus takes you to Silverburn and he was absolutely lovely about it super friendly thank you so much.
They really need to put more 901’s on…
They really need to put more 901’s on during the summer months. Or resurrect the 547. The buses are way too busy.
The glasgow to stirling 36 service is…
The glasgow to stirling 36 service is the worst i have ever encountered in my liftime , if its not late it dont come at all a very high percentage of the time.
The Stirling to Glasgow x36 today 14.54 broke down in the bus station 10/05/ 2025, had to wait 1hr on the next bus which was the x36 15.54.
I had goods in my bag which by the time i got home to Cumbernauld had defrosted, i had to put some of them in the bin.
Not good enough.
I use 38 service once or twice a week it's disappointing
I use 38 service once or twice a week - even at this infrequent use it is clear that the timetable/app is a vague suggestion, at best. Late, curtailed and cancelled buses are common, drivers bypass stops, drive aggressively and can be grumpy/miserable. Glad I don't need to rely on McGill's
My day on the buscard…
I stupidly presented my bank card instead of my bus pass and was charged for my fare which I did not notice, when I called midland bus I explained it all to the customer service, she was so lovely and understanding and got my fare refunded, she also explained the procedure to me in such a friendly manner, customer care was perfect thankyou Danielle😊
Pathetic service / fundamentally robbed!
First time using this service. Bought a weekly saver for the week to try the bus service instead of driving.. NO bus arrived at Charing cross, two buses cancelled, went down the road to the British legion to try there and the bus didn't arrive for over 30 min so eventually had to call a taxi!!! What a absolutely pathetic service I've just paid for. Want my money back and will never buy a weekly pass again. Just spend 10 quid on a taxi to get home. Anyone know how to refund my weekly saver ticket! Shocking!!!
Day number 2 -30th April.. Oh look another problem. Bus number 1 to Dunipace is set to arrive at 8:05.. Bus drives past my house at 7:57 and head towards the bus stop early, doesn't stop or wait but drives straight past. EARLY and not expected and didn't even wait for any passengers needing it for work. Shocking service in falkirk and day 2 of being robber after purchasing a weekly saver pass.. Will keep you updated on my afternoon to see if I ever get to use the service I've paid for.. Shocking result!!!
dangerous
dangerous, dirty, they cheat people by charging more money for a ticket
If I could give a negative star rating…
If I could give a negative star rating I would!
I got on a bus for braehead from Greenock.
1st bus stopped at the police station stop and told us we'd have to get the next bus a someone had been sick in the back. Second bus got to port Glasgow and the driver told us it wasn't going further as he wouldn't take it on the motorway as it couldn't do more than 35mph !
Third bus drove right past so I had to cancel plans with my family. Absolutely dreadful service. I now know why I don't use buses, even though I could have a free bus pass.
Where is my backpack?
17th January I was travelling from Aberdeen to Glasgow with FlixBus Service 092, 11.30 am departure. I had to transfer at Perth Broxden to Glasgow bus with original bus continuing to Edinburgh. Unfortunately I left my backpack in overhead compartment above seats 6a-6b. Didn't realise until leaving Perth and immediately completed Flixbus lost luggage form as per requested procedure. On arrival in Glasgow I contacted Edinburgh bus station who explained that the driver had left a number to contact which i called but was advised to contact customer services as there was nothing there. Subsequently discovered that McGills operate flixbus in Scotland and despite numerous calls via customer services over the following days and being transferred to different locations was given promises of being called back which never never transpired. On 27th January I received an e-mail from Flixbus confirming they had found my backpack and even provided a photograph of it on the bus seat. They advised me to contact McGills to arrange collection. Contacted McGills and have been advised that they cannot find my backpack! I keep calling but inevitably get the same response. "We will call you back " I fully understand that it was my fault initially leaving the backpack on bus and normally would have no legal recourse for its return. However when the bus company provide photographic evidence that they have the item and are now refusing to return it leads me to question what has actually happened. The impression I have been given when calling would appear to confirm that McGills have no set procedures in place for dealing with items left on their busses.
Driver refused entry
I'm a stirling uni student and haven't received my ID yet. The driver of the bus requested to see my student ID, and after showing him my ID (which was on the app as I havent received my ID yet), he kicked me out of the bus, despite the fact that;
1. I was a student
2. Even if I was not, I'm pretty sure non students can take the bus too?
He was very rude to me and told me that since I was "trying to fool him" by shpwing him an app ID, I should take another way back home.
Incident occured 12 Mar 22:00pm in the stance near stirling train station, license plate of bus was SN66 WGW
Farcical
The time on the bus shelter bears absolutely no resemblance to the to when the bus may or may not appear.
Unreliable service on the few occasions I actually try to use it. The app is clunky and doesn't work properly. Frustrating.
Having said the above, when the bus di arrive, the driver was extremely pleasant and friendly and the trip was good, so I have amended my review and given an extra star.
The driver of the 374 shawlands and…
The driver of the 374 shawlands and silverburn John the driver is courteous, considerate at all times goes way above and beyond for his customers. McGills Buses lucky to have him.
mcgills is a shit service the number 30…
mcgills is a shit service the number 30 bus to spateson the bus driver drove by multiple people waiting on the bus I have places to be and this disgusting man growled at us when we stuck our hand out and stuck his middle finger up at us and laugh this is shite customer service and he should get sacked for this as it’s rude for the paying customer this is not the first time and if u don’t sack him I’m going to sue
Friendly helpful bus drivers.
I have MS and use a walker so travelling on buses can be a bit intimidating but I cannot praise the Midland bus drivers I had yesterday highly enough taking me on the short journey from Bridge of Allan to Stirling. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Gave me all the time I needed and helped me on/off the bus. Wish it was always like that.
Worst service possible
Buses cancelled at the last second, disappear from the tracker app, no show constantly, and if you've already bought a ticket on the app and activated it, you won't get a refund. Absolute shower of money laundering conmen
No show once again
this is the worst bus service we have ever had in Erskine you don't know if they will turn up or not. Today the 757 at 14.05 at Paisley central way did not turn up the service is now a total disgrace
