I had fantastic service from Moorland Fuels when my oil tank needed cleaning due to water ingress. Shaughn and Mikey came out on the day and did the job in a friendly, efficient and completely trouble free manner. I was very impressed with the promptness of their response and how quickly things came back to normal with the heating etc. due to their diligence and care. Would have no hesitation in making a recommendation in such an emergency. Many thanks indeed to all!

As a regular customer we ordered oil weeks ago but despite ringing and emailing customer services we have still no oil delivered. They agreed on the phone last week that they were over the delivery date of the 15 days I was given. I rang again 4 days ago explaining there are 2 children here with disabilities and was told they would deliver 3 days ago. No oil came. Rang again to be told it was didn't go out for delivery on that agreed date and 2 days later is still not on the list for yesterday. A phone call this morning to tell us they won't be delivering any oil to us until next year! Today is 19th Dec so they are knowingly leaving a family with disabled children with no heating or hot water over Christmas and New Year. Moorland Fuels rang this morning to say one driver is off sick today which if course happens but how this is supposed to be an explanation on not fulfilling a contract for weeks!? Bizarrely they suggested we drove to Okehampton to buy fuel packs from them in addition to our already placed order, which is a hugely expensive way of buying fuel with no intention of any recompense whatsoever. I see from other reviews they seem to have been taken over by a larger company. I have previously recommended this company so many times to others this is beyond disappointing.

I am very reluctant to write a bad review for a good firm but with the present state of play I would award minus 6 out of a total 10.How sad.

The last time they delivered they didn't supply the amount ordered (there was plenty of room in the tank). This time they missed 2 promised delivery dates (the 2nd after I phoned them to say they'd missed the 1st) and didn't even reschedule or contact us. We won't rely on them again.

Excellent and speedy response when I contacted the company regarding water in my oil tank.
Within an hour I had confirmation that someone would come out the next morning and sort the problem.
Next morning the oil tank was emptied, cleaned and refilled in one and a half hours.

Our oil tank sprung a leak. I called my own oil supplier who couldn't help.Panic ! Called Moorland Fuels at 5.00pm on a Friday evening just before Christmas, they were out within the hour and pumped out 900 litres from my tank into an emergency tank and within the week had fitted a new tank. Great company who go the extra mile.

Delivered on day they said they would. I left the tank unlocked and they came, filled and went without me even noticing...perfect service!!

A Moorland Fuel lorry knocked down part of our garden wall on a lane by our house - this was witnessed by our 2 neighbours. The driver refused to leave any details

" Unfortunately, the issue is with a stretch of wall on a public highway. I can only report back my findings and as we have no way to confirm the eye witness statements, the best I can do is refer you to Devon Highways to report the issue with the wall to them."

Amazing lack of taking responsibility for a local company - think twice before ordering if this is their attitude

Good communication informing of delivery date-delivery always on time.

I found it odd that Moorland Fuels contacted me to offer to deliver fuel and then, despite the fact that I pay monthly by direct debit asked me to pay a lump sum up front.

Up to now, I have always been delighted to use Moorland Fuels and this episode has not made me want to leave, but I have to question why they took these measures at this time.

Having recently moved from a long-time supplier whose service standards had become untenable, a friend recommended Moorland Fuels as a possible alternative. How glad I am that I took his advice! I have been so impressed by Moorland's service since moving to them. From excellent, quick and efficient response when phoning to order (no waiting for ages listening to a recorded message..) to a delivery well within the estimated supply date (together with a reliable pre-delivery notification for the oil). It pays to shop from a local, family run concern. Well done Moorland, and thank you!

Having ordered 900 litres I was told that it was three week’s delivery. I asked if they would allow me to fill two 20 litre Jerry cans to tide me over. They were unable to do that, but said they would be getting 20 litre boxes soon. In the meantime I was recommended to go to Lakes in Tinhay who sold me 40 litres at 61p inc VAT. When Moorlands called to say they had the boxes they wanted to charge £75 for the two; roughly three times the price I had just paid. To rub salt in the wound, when they delivered the 900 litres they charged me £68.4 +VAT! To date I had always used Moorlands thinking loyalty better than the odd couple of pence per litre. No more; I will use a buying group.
