Repaired my iPhone X in under 30 mins

This comment concerns an iPhone SE 1st generation

I advise strongly against using this repairer for iPhone requirements

I left my iPhone with Mr. Dweeb in Crouch End, on Thursday 15/06/23 to replace the battery. Prior to the repair request the battery would charge to 100% but would die within a couple of hours so was not reliable. It had been my intention to first replace this phone’s battery then the other iPhone SE 1st gen which I had been using which is now also starting to become problematic .

The person receiving the phone was different to the person I saw on subsequent visits.

On Friday 16/06/23 I received a phone call asking if I wanted them to order the battery which I would have expected them to have already done and I agreed.

On Saturday 17/06/23 towards close of business, I was contacted saying they had fixed the phone but that I had to pay in cash, which I found extremely unusual but was told this was normal because the suppliers all expected to be paid in cash.

When I arrived the phone hadn’t been charged, showing only 5%; the technician/shopkeeper excused this saying it had been a rush job because they knew how much I needed it. This was untrue. I declined to pay in cash while he and another person conducted a conversation in a language I did not understand before reluctantly agreeing to accept card payment and I received an acknowledgment of £40 paid via email which did not detail the transaction.

I took my phone home and it refused to charge over the 5% and crashed frequently if I tried to used it.

As the next day was Sunday, I had to wait until today, 19/06/23 to go back to the shop. The shopkeeper asked me to leave the phone with him for 30 minutes while he tried to charge it.

After 30 minutes he informed me that it would not charge because the logic board was damaged and that it must have occurred before he replaced the battery though he had not checked it beforehand. I disputed this repeating that it had only needed a battery. Now here I was with a phone in worse condition than when I took it to his store and £40 poorer too.

The shopkeeper said he could not have damaged it because he has 8 cameras watching him as if this would mean something to me. He offered to replace the battery another time but I refused saying he had already wasted enough of my money and time. I said I wanted a refund but it fell on deaf ears.

After the 2nd visit to Mr Dweeb it now only charges to 3%.

I am very unhappy with the ‘service’ and would advise people against using this business for iPhone repair.

Paid £140 to get my phone screen fixed. They put on a fake screen, after a couple days my phone was completely unusable.

They did NOT give me a refund even after showing them the state of my phone.

Do NOT go here.
