Unreliable and inefficient. Had someone come over and was promised a quote. Over a week later and nothing. Followed up with the company a couple of times and still nothing. Such a waste of time!

The guys arrived spot on time as arranged, told us exactly what was about to be done and the results to expect.
They moved all the furniture and set about their work without delay.
They didn't stop until they could put our bed back so we could sleep that night.
The next morning back they came spot on time and started on the last two rooms.
The house has been transformed and we are proud to open the front door again.

Very impressed
I was told I would be impressed and the floor would look like new and that is absolutely true on both counts! I love the result.
When I was getting quotes for the job, Mr Sander was the only company to book a viewing of the space and the floor.
Ivan arrived on time, explained the whole process and answered all my questions and concerns. Communication was excellent and he even picked up and dropped the keys to my house.
I would high recommend Ivan to anyone living around Crystal Palace - a 10 on the satisfaction scale.

Had a terrible experience with the guys…
Had a terrible experience with the guys who 'restored' my floors. I was sold a dream but was left with a mess. They left marks all over the floor from the sanding and damaged my skirting so they had to be sanded and repainted (by me) again. The floor is not even. Our furniture never had a problem before but now in random spots along the floor they wobble. You can sort of see the floor is not even all the way across. We also paid £350 to have a 1mx.5m rectangle stitched to match the floor. What we got was a completely different colour, different wood and not even matching numbers of wooden pieces. Original floor - 5 fingers, they put 7 and not even in a square shape!
We also found cigarettes thrown everywhere! Front garden, back garden and my pregnant wife had to go and pick them all up as I wasn't around. I complained about this and they said they will stitch the other part of the floor, they never came back and stopped answering phone calls. Funnily enough, he got my number mixed up with someone else and answered. When he realised what he did he said he will come over the following weekend, then stopped replying.
Mr Sander is a great price but if you want this done properly and with attention to detail which stops the above problems - pay the extra!

From what you’ve described, it seems the individual who carried out your work was one of our former partners, no longer associated with us due to repeated unprofessional conduct. To clarify our role, Mr Sander® acts as a booking agent, connecting clients with trusted professionals and providing official quotes for work to be completed under our oversight. In your case, it appears you were initially in contact with us, but the arrangement shifted to a private deal with this individual, bypassing our formal process. As a result, no payment or commission came through Mr Sander®, and the work proceeded outside our framework, leaving us unable to ensure the standards we uphold.
The issues you’ve outlined—marks from sanding, damaged skirting, uneven floors, a mismatched wood patch, and the utterly unacceptable littering of cigarette butts—are far from what we’d ever condone. It’s particularly frustrating to hear of the added burden on your pregnant wife, and we sincerely apologise for the distress this caused your family. When you raised these concerns, it seems the individual promised a return visit but failed to follow through—a pattern we’ve seen before with this ex-partner, which led to his contract being terminated.
We regret that this private arrangement has left you dissatisfied and out of pocket. As we weren’t contracted for this job, our recourse is limited, but we’re committed to supporting you where we can. We’d suggest pursuing the individual directly responsible—should you need his details or guidance on next steps, such as a small claims process, please reach out to us at 020 7381 9408 or office@mrsander.co.uk, and we’ll assist promptly. Our experience with Mr Sander was perfect from start to finish. Always communicative and honest with their feedback. Ivan done a great job in our home downstairs and went out of his way to help us with any structural issue we had encountered. The work was done fast and the quote given was a decent price. I didn’t actually use them but …
Their website quotes pricing for sanding and varnishing as “from £24 per sq metre”. The quote they gave me was around £57 per sq metre. When i queried the difference i was told the lower price was for larger scale commercial work. So I didnt use them.

All of this was provided at no cost or obligation, as is our standard practice.
Regarding the pricing, our website lists “from £24 per square metre” as a starting point for larger-scale commercial projects, which we’re upfront about when circumstances differ. Your quote of £57 per square metre reflected the specific complexities of your job—working around furniture, staging the work across multiple visits, and allowing for drying times—which we explained in detail during our conversations. We’re confident this rate remains competitive for the bespoke service offered, but we understand it may not have aligned with your budget.
