Nottingham City Council Reviews 

I have had my car clamped when using the Forest Park and Ride, despite purchasing a ticket earlier the same day. They managed to clamp my car within 15 minutes, but took over 1 hour for them to come back and take it off. £140 later! I was told I can appeal this and when doing so, I have been asked for multiple documents including screen recordings of my bank, log book and insurance documents in my name, BEFORE they will even look into this. I submitted my ticket and proof of purchase when raising the appeal. The additional documents are inappropriate to request. The guy who came to unclamp the car was highly disrespectful and rude.

Reported multiple dangerous overgrown hedges and trees at junctions and roads, shared paths. They confirmed a team had sorted the issue by email. After visiting each site, the bare minimum had been done, literally a few branches have been cut and not made any difference. The online reporting function is not very accurate as it requires a pinpoint of the location and then it links to a nearest building which could be hundreds of metres away. They need a more accurate system, such as using what3words.

"This email is to confirm that our grounds team has visited the location and the issue has now been dealt with." No they haven't.

Corrupt,evil,gaslighting,manipulative,psychopath,victimisation,discrimination,racist,those are the most suitable words to describe this council.
I am victim for evil nighbours who make my life real hell and was and still destroy my health both physically and mentally by their horrible endless nuisance and racism and ASB for three years until now.

Instead of bring helped and protected,i was being punished instead of those nighbours,just because i was banging alittle on my wall and raise my voice alittle to make evil upstairs nighbours stop their endless nuisance which was always mix of all types of noises bring done together:repetitive endless banging reach for more than three thousands bangs every single hours and continuous at this level for 26 hours daily at least,all this banging coming with very loud music for same period of time daily,with crazy dog who keep making horrendous loud crashing and hitting endless nuisance by keep jumping and runing all the time in all areas in their flat on the floors and stairs making noise similar to if domebody come to kick your doors or walls by all their power by their feets or like if you have a train keep moving fast over your flat,loud endless stomping,endless slamming doors,endless runing and stomping on stairs up and down hundred times hourly all day and night,endless parties,endless smoking and drinking in communal courtyard,gossiping in abusive and loud way about me with other nighbiurs near my flat and swearing about me and ganhing against me just because i complain from their noise and ASB,bully me and being racist and targeting me each time i go out which by the way i never go out but one time weekly to take my trash bin out and do groceries shopping because the rest of time i am prisoner in my flat because of them and their dogs,letting their dogs runing freely in the communal courtyard all the time and jump on you and licking you and your items and one of the dogs is aggressive towards me and already was bitting me when in the past but i was lucky that bite was light since i jump fast at first moment it try to bite me,hammering for hours day qnd in night reqching for 13 hours of continius hammering and on daily basis for 11 months and if you complain you are told it is decoration while truth is they keep change their decoration every week which mean tbis hammering never end it is always like construction site over your head,dgs crazy loud constant barking,constant drop heavy things and items on floors,loud sex noises which they do it several times in day and in night and wach time take nearly one hour which mean the noise continues most of night time too,all types of noise hppening million times for all time all day long continous in night hours until at least 3:00am in morning,all of this was being recorded and proof by all types if evidences:noise app,security camera,noise recording equipment from invironment health department at the council,all of this to be told in the end that all of this is normal daily noise nd it is acceptable from nighbours to keep do this!

But when i test what they said for me,and ask them:"will you consider it as normal daily noise if i start do same noise that you just accept it from ny nighbours?!
They didn't even answer at that question since inside themselves they was know that they are liars and racist and manipulative when they tell me this,and they do this just because all of those nighbours are belong to same their race(white)while i belong to diffrent race.
Although i was sure they are discriminate against me for racial reason,but i decide to test them to see if they will accept it if i do same noises that they just tell me it is norml daily noise,and guess what was happen?!

At first moment i start make little bangs,just three or four light bangs,my white nighbours,the same one who keep banging all the time more than three thousands bangs each hour was runing to cry (fake tears of course while she is in my grandmother age but keep acting like a spoiled baby all the time and feel jealous of me to point keep copy me in everything even my simple outlook)and she tell them that i am making malicious banging and start copy all my complaints i was make against her and just start use same words i use when i complain!

And the corrupt spiteful patch manager was find this like a golden chance to revenge from me becuse i was dare to complain from his corruption and start co operate with my evil nighbours by using his job power to write fake reports about me and co operate with the council that is responsible about noise in my area,to record the little bangs and the rare occassions i was shout at nighbours from inside my flat only to ask them to stop the noise while i was litterally dying under them from their noise,and was prosecution and fine me while nighbours still make noise until now!

I had a parking fine for someone who does not live here! I had to ring dvla, my council and action fraud and I had to send them my council tax bills to prove the man did not live here! The dvla said the car is not registered to this address so Nottingham council should have checked this! I sent my council tax bills and they have said they have cancelled my penalty charge , how is it mine , they have put me through so much stress and I haven’t even had an apology , her name is Elaine whom kept asking me to prove the man did not live here , she didn’t even ask the DVLA! I hope they know I am taking this further , I have wrote to Elaine to say I’m taking this further and I am !!!

Assisted bin pull out - often missed bins and abuse from staff as disabled are lazy with nothing else to do.

Now this is why I came to review. I was warned 10 yrs ago that they won't allow disabled teenagers in NG8, I was warned by my health visitor in 2008that the council wouldn't allow my son to be part of the community. Get to 2025 and yes I meet it heads on by a very self righteous worker with a chip on her shoulder but little life skills and younger than my daughter who has more intelligence. And the other worker worked in a hospice and you are dying- cheerful soul useless at her job but hey ho. So as I am a disabled parent, actually been been disabled since age 8yrs but I liked to work hard, but considering we trust these Muppets to supposedly support is - old style medieval torture was far nicer! They realised everything what I said about my son was true though blind at bats over which leg had his varicose veins and idea that disabled children have no idea about anything, are they in for an awakening. But they delight in no listening to anything said even by other professionals. So stupid it's unbelievable.but they will take you to court without even asking just so they can Institutionalise your teenage just like the old days when all those disabled were hidden away and never seen in a community. What progress was started years ago has been backtracked by profession al delinquents who do a regurgitated learning in a degree so they can get revenge on others so they get promotion. I was warned by many, but surely we haven't gone backwards in time I thought, having don't a late degree in it all. But yes Nottingham is a very backwards city, like an ostrich head in the sand. They have areas they won't let be educated and move forward, while they drive new comers out- stood my ground for others after losing my eye sight saving a neighbour...tried to change the area and repayment is watching my son loose his home and pets. No thank you I will bypass that torture I think this area has done enough to me. I have worked in the council voluntary for done years before COVID. The staff are out of touch, and do not understand the communities they fail on, they have no idea. This has been going on years and it's too much trouble to fix it

I was on hold for two hours to Council Tax yesterday and never got through.

I have taken time away from work to call them today at 09:30 only to receive a message that they are "closed due to unforeseen circumstances".

The service is not good enough and Nova simply makes the situation worse.

I would give zero if I could.
The new Nova system they have in place is not fit for purpose. I have been trying to get through to someone since 9am today and it is now 9.30am. Every time I teolephone the nova system says it cannot connect me as the departments are not open until 9am !! I had a text message asking me to contact them but it is impossible. I didn't think that NCC could get any worse, but it has.

Frankly not even worth one star. A council with the highest council tax in England and the worst services. Wasteful and totally incompetent.

Nottingham City Council fails again. Garden waste stickers costing almost £90 promised within 7-10 days. 12 days gone by and still nothing. Try to telephone the Council and you get an utterly useless chatbot (aren't they all!). Keep asking to speak to a human and you eventually get put through to the switchboard. Please wait, Please wait ..... and eventually "This service is closed". How can a switchboard be closed? Utter, utter incompetence. Nottingham City Council deserve 0 stars.

We called over the Christmas period to report a hot water pipe leaking below the boiler causing mould. Not priority so appointment booked for 24th Jan 2025. Engineer took one look and said "I haven't got time to do that" and said we would recieve another appointment. By the 12th February we had not heard anything. So I called on the 12th Feb and was told I'd receive a call back. Heard nothing today. I'd already explained we have a really young baby in the flat and hot water dripping and mould are hazards.

We had compensations company canvassing at the door a few weeks ago so we'll be giving them a call now. Nottingham City Council is not fit for purpose full stop.

If I could give 0 stars I would.

Poor communication, no concern for the vulnerable and disabled to help esp when heating gone down- and when you call for an update holding 30 mins and getting cut off.

Worst tramp council in uk

Their electronic switchboard system for council tax enquiries loops when you choose the 'speak to an operator. Only automated options work.

I also have an online account with NCC but it's full of bugs and seldom works properly. The most recent hellish experience was trying to renew my parking permit.. Looping and pages freezing..
Also a refuse collection issue took months to sort out. Only several interventions of a councillor on my behalf got the matter put right.
It's not always been like this. In years gone by you could phone up and a human switchboard operator would then route your call to the relevant department.

Avoid this City - Unreasonable penalty charges

Last month, In the middle of a torrential rain storm in bad light I took the wrong left-hand lane down a bus lane, rather than risk going on the right hand side of the road, in the rush hour and in darkness, the signs were very difficult to read. I appealed and my case was immediately rejected. I was sent a a photo of the layout in good visibility as justification!

Two days ago, my car was parked with a disabled blue card and I was fined again, for not showing the time the car arrived, something that no one else asks for. I had not exceeded the time allowed!

These are not isolated incidents.

This council seems dead set on fining the public with no sense of portion of what is reasonable and what is not. I shall avoid going into Nottingham whenever I can since I live between Leicester and Nottingham. I’ve never had the same problems in Leicester, which I visit far more often.

Officer 308 parking enforcement, she gets a free coffee even though a not public working had 2 download an app?? She didn't look at her watch b4 slapping a ticket on a 7.5 tonne Van which couldn't help being where it was,plus it was there 2 min odd but. Nazi Notts Coucil in Debt massively. They do not have good online system or phone system for one off payment, called to make one off payment and the lady on phone Jade, did not seem like she wanted to talk or even be in work with the tone of her voice, and when ask can make payment, she goes my system does not work for taking payment and yes they are nottingham city council with this system, then when ask can I raise a complaint she says she can't as you have to raise it online again trying to get me off the phone, then she says my colleague will able to take the payment but they busy on phones, it's like they playing puzzle game before taking the payment,guess what happens if they don't get paid well

Moved into a flat 2 months ago and set up a council tax account before I moved in. 2 months later and I’ve still not been charged, even after requesting many forms and copies of the bill. Every time I’ve phoned council tax support I’m met with an Automated voice which just texts me the link instead of actually giving me the option to talk to someone!! I’ve phoned costumer support and was met with “oh that’s really bad” and “you really should get the sorted” and then sends me back over to the automated voice, which doesn’t let me speak to anyone. I’m all for making people’s lives easier but I just don’t understand why they have to make it so difficult to get help. What if you’re elderly? What if you don’t have a mobile phone? Absolutely useless!!!

Not sure why Terry who works on the council tax department thinks he can bully and yell at customers over the phone. He also refused to answer my questions for a DSAR request, and didn't comment regarding why the council set up two Direct Debits on my account for over £350 when there was only permission for one. It's a shame the council is supposed to offer support but hire disgusting people like him.

I also fell victim to the bus Lane fiasco around the old Broadmarsh area on Canal Street. I’d not visited that part of the city for several years and thought I knew my way around but was totally caught out by the road change and poor signage on a busy road where you need to watch traffic. By the time I was confronted by the layout change I couldn’t turn around and knew what was going to come my way. It has obviously been designed to generate revenue and make up for the inefficiencies of the elected clowns. I normally spend in excess of £2,000 per year in this city but will spend my money elsewhere in the future. It’s no longer a nice clean or safe place to visit.

Shocking council. Whether it be registering a birth, marriage, parking, bin collection fees. Every single encounter I've had with the council has been beyond appalling. Communication is non-existent and processes are riddled with errors. Absolutely and utterly useless. Can't seem to organise their budgets so ram ridiculous extra costs onto residents. I'll be glad to leave!
