Another company needs to take over…

Another company needs to take over Ofgem. They are letting the energy suppliers charge more. Its 💯 obvious that Ofgem are getting a back hander for allowing this. We need a company that's there for the millions in this country who are struggling. Disgusting how Ofgem are allowing this. Its all about maximum profit worst company in Britain 😡😡😡😡

Misleading information and promises

Ofgem say “We are the energy regulator for Great Britain. We work to protect energy consumers, especially vulnerable people, by ensuring they are treated fairly.”

In practice, Ofgem protect energy providers, not consumers, and especially not vulnerable people. If Ofgem had any intention to deliver for energy consumers, they would address and resolve the issue of inflated and disproportionate standing charges.

Don't register they'll never stop hounding you...ever

I registered with the energy council 4 years ago. It's relentless the spam calls. Ive tried to stop them blocked them and they keep coming. I rang the London uk number on their website to ask them to stop calls and report their disgusting behaviour and bad attitude to me...and it says it's not recognised i guess they dont likesoam calls either. The people are vile speak over you and call you rude when you tell them to stop calling. Oh the irony....I don't rate their service it was useless. My advice don't register unless you want to receive silent calls and various calls forever more. Ive asked them politely to take me off the call list now im going to be nasty because they are. They are so unpleasant and unprofessional

Should be ZERO stars because they are…

Should be ZERO stars because they are corrupt criminals

Allowed British Gas lite to bully and extort my small business, they processes are archaic and difficult for a reason, so their pals and funders aren’t found out and the profits keep rolling in - shameful

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid - scammers do not let them change your meter, don’t listen to there bills they are wrong

As with many people on here charge triple our usually consumption, took it to the ombudsmen but they are in league together to EXTORT people of their money

They have reported missed payment to our company credit file while the ombudsman case was open… also illegal

They threaten you with bailiffs and service cut off

Put another supplier out of business me…

Put another supplier out of business me thinks.
I have a contract with tomato energy who for the last 2 years have supplied me with electricity only at a very competitive rate. They are only a small company and it appears they were struggling financially a nit, so instead of helping them, and their customers, Ofgem wack them with a gbp1.5 million fine and then hand over their customers to British Gas a company I have had inappropriate service from the past and will not touch with a barge pole, so to speak, for very good reason. Don't want to allow these little upstarts to muscle in on the big boys profits do we! I am currently abroad and will dump British Gas quite rightly as soon as I return to UK at end of year. I would encourage all other unfortunate Tomato customers to do likewise as I am sure they will be able to get a better deal by so doing. Happy Switching!

I think the reviews say it all

I think the reviews say it all.
If.a private company had reviews like that they’d either do something about or close down. In fact they’d be forced to close down.
What is so infuriating is that energy companies and also MP’s offices, suggest you approach Ofgem to sort out overcharging and ever increasing problems.
Ofgem ARE the problem because they don’t do their job properly and energy companies know that.
Tax payers actually have to pay for this level of incompetence although of course they are also funded by energy companies, as is the energy omsbudsmen, so hardly impartial.

Who are they working for?

One of the roles of a regulator is to look after consumer interests. Yet they seem to have no interest in the actual concerns of consumers. I realise they do not deal with individual complaints but they seem to have no interest in consumer concerns. When I asked where to take my concerns about the national energy database, ECOES, they had no answer. I asked do you listen to concerns brought up by an MP, no. By the Ombudsman, no. Just another way of using up the tax payer's money to keep employment high for mediocre graduates.

Very unprofessional company that does…

Very unprofessional company that does not even mention on their 'smart meter' page that these devices emit radiofrequency radiation 24/7. This is most certainly not safe for human health and absolutely no long term health studies have been done, and they want to force these devices on every household in the UK, and the agenda moves worldwide also.

The way I see it, the Government and its agencies want to weaken the human being into compliance, and whether it uses electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) and mRNA jabs to accomplish this, they don't care about you, and it's nothing to do with a green agenda or climate change. It's about control.

The lady my husband spoke to at Ofgem actually cut him off. She said, I'm giving you a warning (for interrupting me) and then hung up when I mentioned that they were the regulators who were telling the energy companies to fit these dangerous devices. She didn't want to deal with the questioning and cut us off. Unprofessional and a very sinister evil company who is harmful to human health 100%.

Ofgem are unfit for independent office

These government watchdogs aren’t any longer fit for purpose. It seems that they are no longer there to ensure accountability for the consumer or to provide parity between energy companies profiteering and the efficient working of a public utility. It now appears to most ordinary people that they exist for the sole purpose of increasing the huge profits of these energy corporations under the guise of being a fair government arbitrator.

Disgusting Standing Charges

The way standing charges are distributed is imoral and thoughtless when your SC are well exceeding your energy usage and on occasions even if you don't use any energy they in most cases exceed £28 a month.
This must be stopped a more fare way perhaps would be to charge a percentage of the cost of energy used.
But in any case OFGEM you need to review this atrocity and the sooner the better.
You disgust thousands of your customers.
I have emailed my Energy Supplier Octopus twice who are a quite amicable company and reasonable supplier about the standing charge but no replies, yes that speaks for itself.
Just noticed the company is based in the U.S.A !!! And I am not surprised why oh why do we have to have American involvement ...... a born disaster.
Yes energy users did you know at least £28 of your monthly energy cost is standing charges ..... honestly... check your account £28 if you pay for Electricity and Gas. £20 electric £8 gas that's before you use anything. Let's complain together.

As much use as a chocolate teapot at a summer BBQ in Dubai. Seriously what is it that you do? What do you regulate? Why are energy companies making an absolute fortune but UK energy bills are the highest in Europe?? We dislike you very much and think you should be working for the Consumers and not in the pockets of the energy companies.

Energy Price Hike Concerns

I honestly don’t understand how you the governing body can justify informing the public of yet another price increase, this time by 6.4%. This is the third hike in such a short period, and it’s simply unsustainable. I’m fortunate to have a decently paid job, but even I’m starting to feel the strain. What is going on?

What are you actually doing to support the public?
It’s even more frustrating to hear about energy companies making record profits while green energy reportedly brought £85 billion into the UK. So why do energy costs keep rising? It makes absolutely no sense, and it’s disgraceful that you’re allowing this to happen!
