Why aren't criminal charges against ofgem brought forward as yet.

Well well if it isn't ilegal activities by the regulators. The times article has seriously damaged the creditability of this department and I would rather put my faith in a shoe string when jumping off a cliff rather than believe what ofgem say. Threatening behaviour to the hard workokg journalist who were exposing British gas home break in's. Charged and sentenced. Simply ilegal. Pathetic.

Not fit for purpose

Ofgem are not fit for purpose. It gives very high salaries to the people who run it but does nothing for the consumers. It should be scrapped immediately as it is totally useless as are the people who run it. They can't or don't regulate anything. Must be the most pointless regulators in existence anywhere.

Absolute joke

I have asked OFGEM to step in with OVO as they owe me money from me leaving due to OVO's complete inability to run a decent power company. All OFGEM do is send you loads of emails telling you what you should be doing, having to wait 8 to 12 weeks before OFGEM will help. OVO owe me £125.91 but OFGEM just let them get away with it, doing nothing. The most useless set up I have ever experienced and need to be dismantled, as they are completely useless.

What is going on with ofgem keep sending email and get the same email back. With wholesale gas being at a low time low for the last 18 months why are ofgem not doing anything. Same with the government. Time for this company to go and replace with something that's work for the people of this country

Absolute disgrace of an institution

Absolute disgrace of an institution. It is supposed to stop unreasonable energy price rises yet does Absolutely Nothing of what it is supposed to do. People get ripped to shreds by energy companies while having EIGHTFOLD profit increase! Should be disbanded and replaced by something that truly works.

Companies like these should have no place on modern Britain but sadly they do people need to riot in the streets and hold these people accountable for any deaths of their loved ones not being able to heat there homes . But the fairy british public wont do nothing so it will keep coming

Not good at defending customer rights

Having lived in several countries, Ofgem is one of the most passive regulators that I have seen. And this is exactly why the electricity sector is in such a bad situation in UK right now. Waiting 45 days before even issuing a complaint and then waiting another 1-2 months(maybe even more) is a very unreasonable time especially when: 1. you don`t have your account information and nobody is helping you ( which is always the case) you cant pay your bills which significantly reduces your credit score 2. you need to use electricity meanwhile and that means your bill keeps hiking up and you lose all the control on it

Ofgem £2500 Energy Cap Misinformation

Ofgem's use of words like "average" and "most people" has enabled Liz Truss to claim “nobody is paying fuel bills of more than £2,500”. Not true for thousands of families, pensioners, single people, WFH, and single parents who are not "average" and who for reasons of health, work, age or childcare have to use more than 12000 kWh of Gas and/or 2900 Kwh per annum of Electricity. Check your previous useage ! The new UNIT charges, are 9.74p per Kwh for Gas and 31.44p per Kwh for Electricity- both plus VAT. Also plus the new daily Standing Charges and VAT.   Remember the cap is per unit of energy not total bills. I'm a pensioner, living in an old, cold Victorian house (there are millions like them) - my projected estimate from October 2022 onwards is now more than £5000 p.a.! 'The Devil', as they say 'is in the detail. Contact your MP, write to the newspapers, go on social media - make sure Liz Truss knows - we are not deceived !

Ofgem

Ofgem, the regulator who's not in control of anything.

Sort out this broken energy market.
I tried to switch to the only provider that doesn't have a standing charge and they required me to have a smart meter.
I get a smart meter installed and apparently it's too modern for the switching company to deal with.

The whole market is a bloody shambles.

Not fit for purpose

The only purpose I can see of ofgem at this moment in time is to protect the billions of pounds profit that the energy companies are making . If costs were that high and they were genuingly offering consumers the best price possible their profit margins would not be in the billions and it does not take a rocket scientist to work that one out anyone who can do basic maths can see that the figures do not add up.This cannot continue vulnerable people will die this winter due to pure greed. Scrap the standing charges . That way the vulnerable and low users will have at least half a chance of keeping warm this winter. The standing charges are crippling people before they have even used any energy.

Don't waste your time

Don't waste your time. The energy industry, along with pretty much most of the other "services" in this country is not fit for purpose.

There has been a complete failure to properly regulate uk energy companies - this has resulted in the fiasco we are all suffering

When you need help..?

OFGEM are not interested in the individual consumers problems. This country has deep structural problems which show no sign of being resolved.

Most of OFGEMS policies work like the Highway Code and contain words like "could" "should" or "ought to"- there is no duty placed upon suppliers , it's just a suggestion

The word and standards we are looking for is "MUST" - they ought force suppliers under threat to provide a decent service.

This is just another government whitewash.

We will be in fuel poverty this winter thanks to you...and I’m three weeks off having a baby, in an old farm house that we don’t own and can’t get landlord to help at a time when our industry, farming, is not yielding any profits either for us! We may as well give up!

Ofgem not fit for purpose

Ofgem are supposed to support consumer interests. I have never seen such nauseating kowtowing to corporate interests than their recent ratifying of the price cap increase on energy. All involved should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

This is an organisation that is no longer fit for purpose. You have condemned people to financial and energy poverty. The elderly we sought so hard to save from death over the past two years will perish in a cold and and unyielding winter primarily because of your impotence and inaction.

Ofgem no longer serving the public interest

Ofgem states on their website that their role and responsibility is to protect the energy consumer, especially the vulnerable people, by ensuring they are treated fairly. What utter rhetoric. It is unforgivable to sanction October's planned price hike forcing millions into fuel poverty. Meanwhile energy companies announce records profits. This cannot be allowed to continue. Please, if you feel strongly about this issue, I urge you to get onboard with the Don't Pay movement. Be proactive and spread the word.

I’d give zero stars if I could!

Utterly dispicable and disgraceful profiteering outfit which masquerades as being an establishment to protect the people!
They’ve literally signed off death sentences with their outrageous and out of touch energy price cap!
Join the millions of other everyday working people vowing to cancel their direct debits to energy providers on or before October 1st 2022 unless we are restored back to 2020 prices!
We don’t have a cost of living crisis, we have a cost of greed crisis and ofgem is in full support of it!
