Very Helpful

Wanted to give a huge thank you to A9 Plumbing & Heating. I actually didn’t need to use them in the end but Jim and Jake were so helpful over the phone and were prepared to come to my house after hours to help me out and I just know from their help over the phone that they were a very professional and knowledgeable team. Thank guys. Jackie (Nantwich)

AVOID like the plague ….i had some very sub standard work carried out by one of their members ( log burner and flue installation ) . It was a DANGEROUS job that could easily cause a fire and did not comply to regulations . I reported the work to OFTEC and they told me to go back to the member directly and complain and get them to rectify . I did not want that cowboy anywhere near my home . Really what is the point in tradesmen having these supposed certifications when they mean nothing to your safety . Surely they should come out and inspect dangerous work ? I have no idea if HETAS is any better but my advice is avoid anybody who is OFTEC registered as you will have no come back . Reading other reviews it seems I’m not the only person to experience this .

OFTEC Guarantee to rectify work is only…

OFTEC Guarantee to rectify work is only valid if the trader goes out of business. If they don’t renew their membership, but carry on trading then OFTEC won’t help. So, you can have an installation by an OFTEC member whose membership expires a week after you get your certificate and that’s as long as your guarantee lasts…. 1 week. Bonkers.

A Joke of an Organisation

In my experience as a consumer, OFTEC like to dodge questions and put their ‘fingers in their ears’ when factual evidence is submitted… they are totally unprofessional.

They assess complaints about physical parts without even asking to inspect them, they also ask for information and give you less than a day to submit it before claiming they could not review it!

In my opinion they are biased towards their members and ‘run away’ when their explanations make no sense or they ignore the questions asked of them.

Absolute disgrace of a company

Absolute disgrace of a company. Avoid at all costs this toothless giant which is just another Checkatrade.

I needed an oil boiler installation and used their directory to chose an 'oftec qualified' installer.

The plumber in question spent a week on site installing a new system for me, he assured me it was 99% complete so i paid him the final payment on assurance it would be completed the next week.

I started to have some concerns over the weekend inspecting his work as it seemed it just couldn't possibly do what he apparently designed it to do for us. He called me to say he wasn't coming back and that he wouldn't refund me either.

The next day the electrical wire fell from the stat exposing live wires he installed. This could have killed or given my young girls a shock he took no care in wiring this up it makes me very angry.
He also left many connections leaking and the whole system not working.

I reported him to Oftec who despite pretending to care did absolutely nothing. Their only offer was to ask the Plumber to return to rectify his poor work to which he refused and i was also unhappy as it was clearly substandard and poor.

I also had a report from Worcestor Bosch who also commented how dangerous his work looked they were called out because the boiler was cutting out. He had plumbed it the wrong way round which was making the condensor sensor shut the boiler down. I still have that report also which i showed to Oftec who just shrugged their shoulders.

How Oftec has the audacity to still advertise as some sort of quality standards is an absolute joke. They should hang their heads in shame. His work could have killed one of my girls and it cost 1000's to make safe and work as it should have in the first place.

I will ensure i cover every media outlet until everyone is aware of what a bunch of crooks these people are.

Avoid these crooks they are not who they make out to be. They care only about revenue from the plumbers who use them to advertise their services.
