Absolute life savers
Absolute life savers. Was told my tank was broken and in a bad state. Called Oil Tank Plus, not only did they have a competitive quote the service from everyone was second to none. The gentleman I spoke to some how arranged the tank to be replaced immediately and the guys who came and did the work were brilliant. I'd highly recommend them and I'm extremely grateful.

Replacement tank
Our oil delivery company found a crack in our old tank just before Xmas. Needed an urgent replacement, Oil tank plus gave a very competitive price and could fit the new tank within a week. Guys arrived early on the appoint day and fitted the replacement within hours despite minus temperatures in East Yorkshire. Excellent Service and Installation
I contacted Oil Tanks Plus in an emergency, an oak tree had smashed into the top of my oil tank during a storm. Kev got Rich and Chris out to me within a couple of hours who made the situation safe. A new tank was ordered and installed a week later, minimal fuss, great price, brilliant expertise and fast service. I had my second oil tank updated to meet regulations and the same excellent service was given. Would recommend to everyone who needs an oil tank.

My experience of contracting to OTP (through Kevan’s good offices) all arrangements for the (a) removal of water from oil in my existing tank (leaving clean oil), (b) subsequent removal/disposal of the old tank and (c) installation, refilling, and commissioning of a new tank, all within a very tight timeframe, could not have been more satisfying, as well as, under the circumstances, greatly de-stressing!
This was especially so because of the speed within which all aspects of the project were undertaken – and at a most competitive price too.
Worthy of special mention is the fact that I could not get any other firm to undertake any aspect of the work required for ‘weeks to come’, if at all, even at twice the price for removal of the contaminating water. This latter we were desperate to have done in order to have our boiler’s heating capability restored (water had seemingly ruined the pump, which then needed to be replaced) – to prevent any freezing/burst pipes. Kevan organised for this to be done within 2 days – brilliant! Heating was restored shortly thereafter.
Later, following placement of my order, I realised that as regards the installation/removal of the tanks I had completely forgotten to take into account that both the old, and new tank were far wider than any space we now had between front-facing hedges etc., and that some might need to be cut down – a prospect disastrous in the extreme - for a variety of reasons! I also then realised that the new tank, with its additional base support provided, would stand proud of the existing hedge & therefore fully in view - definitely most undesirable. Again, Kevan put my mind at ease, assuring me that these aspects too were manageable - though I had no idea how such c/would be achieved.
In the event, the real heroes of the entire project were Kristoff (who had removed the contaminating water at the start) and Marc. When I told Kristoff of my dilemma his response was, characteristically, ‘Don’t worry – we will sort it!' which they then proceeded to do by transporting the tanks along an 80-100 yards detour round other parts of our garden, between bushy shrubs, up & down steps and low stone walls, across & along narrow gravel paths, and lawns, all with no damage to any of these and not a single word on complaint. Kristoff also ensured, by cutting the existing and very 'robust' tank-supporting stanchions appropriately, that the new, larger, tank did not project any higher than the old one, so remaining well screened off from view.
All in all, a fantastic, labour-intensive operation, well planned & well executed, with confidence, courtesy and pleasantness throughout and, upon completion, with our gardens left in the same condition as before. A quality job completed to my own specifications, and standards: one very satisfied customer - would recommend to anyone.

Efficient and polite service with hoped-for result
Excellent service. Good communication. Installer arrived 8am, had finished by lunchtime, was pleasant, thorough and tidy. A friend staying with me was equally impressesd. Additionally the total price was considerably lower than another firm for the same work and the quote was broken down so I could see exactly what I was buying. That was important. The new tank looks tidy and safe and - so far - one day after installation, seems perfect. I am not expecting problems but if any occur I feel reasonably assured they will be solved.

OTP just responded to my review with more lies...
I'm writing this in response to OTP's comments on my review of their appalling service (Unprofessional, disorganised, avoid - written on Nov 2, but updated today to correct a spelling mistake). Their words serve to reinforce my position, so please read my review, and their response, first and then make your own mind up.
The management team opens by saying they were battling against emergencies and covid problems. Fair enough, but my original date for installation was cancelled 2 weeks previously as my installer had tested positive so covid couldn't have been affecting his scheduled this time. There was no "chain" they were waiting on as they claim; they had one installer to call to ask the simple question of what time he'd be with me. However if my job was being affected by other emergencies, beyond OTP's control, then why didn't anyone say so or suggest another postponement? I'd have understood.
For the majority of the day I was perfectly pleasant, getting frustrated certainly, but enjoying my birthday and looking forward to getting the tank job done. I initially rang simply to find out when things were happening, I was told they'd ask the installer and ring back. I heard nothing so called again an hour later to told he was on his way, and an hour later I called a 3rd time to say he still wasn't here so could they ask him to ring me with an ETA. I said I needed to do things away from the house, but I wasn't told I didn't need to wait for him. I also wonder why I wasn't told that they'd booked him to do a job before mine, 1hr40mins away, so there's no way he'd be with me that morning. I suspect Kevin, being busy, didn't check the system and then didn't want to admit his rookie error. I didn't know this at that point though so no cross words had been exchanged, so if they were call screening it was only to avoid telling me the truth. Besides if they knew it was me calling why did I have to say who I am when they answered? It was much later in the afternoon that I got pissed off when I found out Kevin had been economical with the truth; I spoke to Olly, no "industrial language" was used, although I said I don't like being lied to and felt Kevin had done so. He agreed it was handled badly - the offer of compensation confirms that.
Regarding my AGA being switched off all day: in the absence of any info from OTP regarding times, as far as I was concerned the installer could have arrived first thing so I obviously had to switch off the AGA's oil pump before I left to take my children to school. Once off, an oil fired AGA can't be re-lit until it's cold, so that means it's off all day, and then it takes a few hours to get hot again.
In OTP's response there's another bare-faced lie in saying "our guys offered at least 2 more times to attend." No such offer was made. Yhe job was cancelled by the installer at 8pm on Oct 28 and HE offered the alternative date of Nov 2. I asked Olly to confirm that date with him, so it was officially booked in, but he didn't do it. On the 2nd I rang around to get an ETA and was told all was on schedule, but then when the installer called at midday to say he was sorry but he wasn't coming because it hadn't been confirmed, I rang OTP for a final time, and yes I got cross and used the terrible "industrial language" of calling them liars! Perhaps I might even have used the ruder version of bloody liars, but it was fully justified after catching them out on both days. I called Kevin out for lying, he didn't like my tone and just said he was cancelling and hung up. He certainly didn't offer an alternative date, let alone two!
The next pathetic lie is that OTP say they took the final decision to cancel the job AFTER reading my Trustpilot review and the others I'd written! Well, unless they are time travellers, this blatantly isn't the truth because the review clearly states they had already cancelled the job. As for the nature of my other reviews, they are mostly glowing apart from giving Yodel a roasting, but I'm certainly not the first to have done that. The reviews are there for anyone to read so, OTP, it's probably wiser if you quote them correctly. I like to think I can rely on Trustpilot reviews being accurate, so I wouldn't dream of presenting a false account on it. Mine may not be the usual review for OTP, but it's certainly true of my experience on 2 days. I had no need to make anything up, I was flabberghasted and justifiably angry that any company would go to such lengths to cover up a bad day at the office, rather than being honest and simply saying there was a problem. I still don't understand it.
And the final and maybe worst lie, is that OTP state they refunded my deposit immediately. That is completely untrue; it was cancelled on Nov 2 and they STILL haven't refunded it. They've had my money since September 15th.
OTP, I suggest you check your pants, they appear to be burning.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, installed an oil tank which is leaking I have phoned over a dozen times and emailed with no response it is situated in a residential home and extremely dangerous, have reported to trading standards and am also going to write to the local papers to try and get help.

With a leaking tank i contacted Kev in the sales department and he set the wheels in motion, how to stop the leak(genius) and from then on all went smoothly and to plan. The 2 fitters he sent out to replace the tank could not have been more helpful and had the job done in no time. I can't speak highly enough of all the team .A great job!

Excellent Service All Round
It is not uncommon to find engineers providing a good service but it is rare to find Salespeople hitting excellence. When my existing oil tank started to drip, I contacted OTP and spoke to Kevan. He put my mind at rest and organised for an engineer (Kris) to come to site later that afternoon with a temporary holding tank awaiting delivery of a replacement. Kris was also a model of professionalism; calm, confident and very experienced. When the replacement tank arrived a few weeks later, Kevan organised everything and it all went very smoothly, with Kris, again, doing the installation.
I can't emphasise enough how important OTP's caring attitude helped during this stressful time.

Tank Replacement
We needed to get my Mother's oil tank replaced as it was a single skin and we could smell some fumes. Went on the web and found Oil Tanks Plus Ltd. Took a number and called and got everything sorted in about 30 minutes after sending some photos through. Got a quote which we thought was good value and decided to got ahead. Tank has just been fitted and old one disposed of and Mum tells me the guys who did the job were excellent. They took into account they were talking to an elderly widow and were polite, friendly and efficient. All together a great job.

Initial answer to enquiries were good…
Tank Saga!
Initial answer to enquiries were good and I received a quotation showing the details and costs.
I then got in touch to find the cost of an alterative tank to the initial quote, the salesman I dealt with initially was away, so things were a bit slower. this came through by e mail and I accepted the Quotation and paid the deposit.
I then heard nothing from them.
Then I had a call from a delivery driver saying he had to deliver something and could not get to my house.
I Live on a country lane and there was an enormous lorry filling the road, he had an oil tank to deliver!
this was a 2455 Ltr. tank and weighed 165 Kilos,
it was a side loader truck, with no crane or tail lift.
My existing tank was leaking into the bund so I did not want to delay things by sending the new tank back, so the driver and I had to manhandle it off the side of the lorry, there was no way we could get it down my steep drive, so I had to leave it on my neighbours drive. I then contacted the company who were not aware of the delivery, and said it could be fitted about 10 days later! after explaining that my neighbour would like to use his driveway, they contacted their fitter and they said they could come in a couple of days. I expected at least two men to do the work but one chap on his own came, his assistant said he was sick, so I rolled up my sleeves and assisted in lugging tanks about, his truck had a tail lift so it was not so bad.
The man was efficient and worked hard so the job was done in a few hours.
on making my final payment I mentioned how I had to help and the salesman Kevan apologised and knocked £50:00 off the price to pay for my efforts.
I think if everything had gone to plan there would have been better coordination and the whole business would have been far more efficient.
All's well that ends well.

Brilliant Service
Moved into a property to discover that the oil tank was not only disconnected due to a missing piece of pipe, but was also leaking and not on a proper base - so much for the Homebuyer Survey! 😔 Contacted Oil Tanks Plus who removed and recycled the old tank, installed a temporary tank to allow me to have a bath and hair wash, and subsequently installed my brand new tank. Couldn't be happier. The guy who built the base and installed it was lovely and the tank actually looks good too. Very efficient and impressive service. Thank you so much for your help.

needed to replace an 18 year old single skin tank with a safer bunded tank..... the guys in the sales office were very very helpful and recommended a low profile tank so that it would not protude too much above our garden wall...... despite spending hours on the internet I hadn't realised that was what I should have been looking for; the tank was slightly smaller at 1350 litres rather than the one it has replaced at 1800 litres but no bother it fits perfectly and we only top up in 500 litres or so anyway. therefore very happy with the sales process, two guys came to install the new tank; firstly pumped out any residual oil from the old tank; laid down concrete slabs for a new base; installed the new tank; pumped back the old oil after filtering it ; and it works just fine; the guys arrived at 9.30 as expected and the whole job completed by 11.30 just 2 hours amazing service; friendly, "can do approach" from start to finish thanks to all Roger Lander Temple Grafton
