Rattan garden furniture set

Ordered a rattan garden furniture set from this company via Debenhams. When it arrived the glass for on top of the table was shattered in the package so I immediately contacted customer services on Debenhams website and they told me they’d contact the seller for a new glass for me which I had an email the next day to say it had been posted out already. I was gutted the glass was smashed but they resolved it straight away I honestly have no complaints for this company at all! Thank you very much and it all looks lovely up ready for summer.

Quality after sales service.

Had a rattan garden set from this company- I needed a replacement foot which had been damaged during a storm this winter. They have bust a gut to help me find the right replacement. Has restored my faith in human nature seeing after great sales service and the trouble and time devoted to getting this right. Couldn’t have had a better experience and I do need to record my thanks. Especially To Steve.

Paid £1k for a bed

Paid £1k for a bed, via Debenhams, which is extremely poor quality. Instructions do not correspond to the materials provided. It is not stable and it substandard. Debenhams were absolutely useless and didn’t want to know. We feel like we were ripped off and ended up with a cheap imported bed which is not fit purpose. We contacted Debenhams directly via messenger and email to no avail. Avoid at all costs!!!

Update.
I purchased the bed from Debenhams, therefore my contract under The Sale of Goods Act is with Debenhams, not you. As I understand it, you are a supplier, via Debenhams and classed as a partner. Debenhams stipulate in their T&C's that customers communicate directly with them and they will resolve it on behalf of their customer. I cannot be held responsible for Debenhams communication methods or customer service levels. I have not avoided contacting you directly. I have communicated with the seller and followed the correct process.

The review was with regards to the quality of the bed delivered. The delivery method, via Shipley's was cumbersome. Communication was extremely poor via Shipley's and we didn't know if the bed was to be delivered or not. I left many questions on Shipley's to clarify, but no one responded.

This review is with regards to the product I received, which I consider fair and true.

Update. Thank you for your update Rhian, i see you've kept the same comment but further mentioned about messages to Debenhams, we are NOT Debenhams. Weve not had any messages or emails from you at all, even now. We wish to help you but you are avoiding contacting us for help, You've clearly stated multiple times that Debenhams is the culprit but you have not given them a score on Trustpilot, only us..?
If you want the issue resolved, please contact us directly as Debenhams can take a while to reply to customers.

Avoid!

Bought garden sofa and coffee table from them through debanhams. 2 months later and i am still missing parts and they refuse to give a partial refund for the awful service.

That's not very fair, especially considering you don't have all the information, let me break it down for you step by step.

You ordered from us on 26th June.

Debenhams messaged us on 13th July, (17 days later) about your missing items which was a Saturday, we do not work weekends and are very busy on Mondays due to the small team so on the Tuesday we read your message and planned a dispatch of the items on Wednesday 17th July. We sent out the missing items with our apologies via chat to Debenhams.

17TH JULY
dispatched 1 x chair arm, 1 x glass top, 11 x long bolts.


On the 30th July Debenhams messaged us saying, "the customer is still chasing the feet for the sofa" and the customer also wants a partial refund as was unable to use the item.

on the 31st July, i told Debenhams a partial refund is fine but i need to know if anymore items are missing so we can send them all in one go instead of staggering them out like this.

15 days later on 15th August, Debenhams got back to me and said "I will ask the customer and get back to you once they have replied. The customer is really unhappy with the whole service and wants a partial refund."
on 16th August, i then said "We're not paying for your poor customer service (to Debenhams), you taking 15 days to reply to me and leaving the customer waiting for 15 days is not on us to pay for."

19th August for a 3rd instance, they told us more items were missing again.
On 20th we told Debenhams we will send these items right away with our apologies again.

20th august
we sent out 1x back cushion, 2 x seat pads.
4 x straight feet, 3 x corner feet.

Now, 32 days of pure waiting for Debenhams to respond to me is not our fault, however, i can see upon reflection writing this message, that a good amount of time has passed since your order, not taking into consideration the 32 days Debenhams wasted. So i would like to offer you a partial refund for waiting and for the inconvenience caused with these missing items (i'm not sure why so many parts were missing either, i'm very sorry for this, i will action the partial refund now, please accept our sincerest apologies on behalf of us and Debenhams for the time passed and the issues caused.

Malta 8 seater set with firepit table.

Bought the 8 seater Malta set, the quality is good n was very pleased however we made the adjustable firepit table up last as it very heavy n bulky. Once made n put with the furniture we found the sofas n chairs are too low to eat with the table at dining table height.
We put extra cushions on the seats then adjusted the levelling screws on the bottom of the chairs to as high as possible n still found them to low to be able to eat at a comfortable height. Contacted them, they NEVER answer the phone, tried 7 times, same message can’t take your call.
Eventually after second email saying sorry about this but we advise customers to check the details n heights etc before buying. It says in write up, table has coffee or dining positions, the dining position is too high or the chairs are to low by about 4/5 inches to be able to eat comfortably. Sadly won’t use them again and wouldn’t recommend them even though the items are very well made n very quickly delivered.
It’s seems they are a largish company but operate a very small company customer service system.

Return Problem

In their return policy, we are able to send back the items in 28 days. I just sent an email regarding the return request. No one response the emails.

Not happy substandard furniture

We ordered our Malta 9 in May this year 2023. Along with the covers the seat covers do not fit the chair's they are way to small.
We haven't assembled the sofas yet so hoping the covers actually fit.
We have had the protected covers on the chair's which the sent x1 long sofa one to cover both not good as we have to keep putting the chairs together to cover them. They do not protect the garden furniture as water has come through them but description "fully weather proof". This has resulted in water stains all over the cushions, which I might add mark really easy as my grandson squirted water and it marked them straight away. Not happy at all.

Rattan Malta range covers

Bought the Malta range seat covers only to discover that the 2 chair covers don’t fit. The chairs are actually bigger than stated and there’s no way the covers will go on them. Emailed twice but still waiting for a response. Will steer clear of those in the future

I have been advised that a previous version of the Malta9 did have larger chairs which may not fit the cover but i was told from management that the new Malta9 batches which landed last month have changed to the correct sizes now for the covers.

Feel like a Cheshire housewife on it! …

I actually purchased our furniture via B&Q on a Saturday online, then discovered your website! It arrived 10am 3 days later.
However, I wanted to leave a review to report the furniture is fantastic, the delivery company was superb, thank you not charging the earth for a lovely set of outdoor seating, other companies seem to of rocketed in price! Sat having a morning brew on it, taking advantage of the lovely weather here in Cheshire, in May!

Similar to other reviews - poor quality

Similar to other reviews, very poor quality ratten that fell disintegrated after 18months. Also be aware that this lot has a history of liquidating companies and springing up under another name. Previously trading under Cosy Bay Ltd and Great Sense Ltd

We purchased the Rattan 6 seater corner…

We purchased the Rattan 6 seater corner unit....it was flat packed for delivery, apart from the usual problems with self assembly it was relatively straight forward..Really happy we bought this it looks great.
The delivery driver could not have been more helpful.
