BEWARE
BEWARE! Proceed with caution.
Going through a divorce and Paul Carr valued the property at £325k.
This was challenged and has now cost money to have a paid valuation done, which has come in at 40k more than Paul Carr valued it at.
This is really disappointing as you should be able to trust a company to give you a true valuation of your property, however they have caused great stress and anxiety.
I wish I could do zero stars
I wish I could do zero stars, they never pick up any calls or emails. You can never reach to them
Just awful people
Just awful people. Rude and obnoxious and they hate it when you call out their behaviour as they then gaslight you. Attitude of staff has not changed in years so owners clearly not bothered. The huge lack of diversity in this organisation tells you a lot. I will encourage anyone renting, buying, letting or selling not to give this organisation your business.
Excellent service
Excellent service
Thanks to Paul Carr Kingstanding branch for all their help and support selling our father in laws property, particular thanks to Laurence, Will and Clive who were always there to answer any queries, offer advice and kept us informed throughout the whole process. Would highly recommend.
Corrupt Monopoly
We were coerced into using their affiliated solicitors, mortgage advisor, and surveyor without disclosure of their ownership stake, constituting a significant conflict of interest. Furthermore, their repeated threats to choose another offer if we did not comply with their demands were unacceptable. Additionally, the lack of diversity within the organization is concerning.
really good service
Paul Carr Four oaks
Just recently received excellent customer service from Kelly Veitch securing a property which had just come up for sale superb .
Watch out for Mark, he shouldn't be around children
We recently viewed a property Paul Carr, this was my 2nd viewing of this property and the first time viewing with my wife and two children (ages 3 and 6).
We met a employee, who did not introduce himself but i think his name was Mark (Overweight, thinning hair and a slight cross eyed look).
Mark was quick to inform us that this viewing would have to be rushed as he had elsewhere to be, which considering we had travelled on that day from Tyne and Wear, was not ideal.
Nevertheless we proceeded to view the property.
Mark then started to make some rather bizarre comments directly to our two children.
Firstly he suggested the space under the stairs could be the bedroom for my 6 year old son.
Nobody was laughing at this comment except Mark.
Rather than deal with an unusual sense of humour we asked about the area (Aldridge) as so far Mark had told us very little about the house.
Mark said it was a good area, and explained Cannock Chase was nearby, 'In case we want to lose the children' he repeated this comment twice, elaborated by saying 'in case you want to get rid of them'.
At which point my wife said we dont want to get away from our kids.
Marks response - 'Well maybe they want to get away from you'.
Mark made 4 rude comments in total regarding our kids, when comments about the house and area would have been more appropriate.
The impression Mark gave was that he has some issue with being around children, and we both feel there is a strong predatory nature to Mark.
We later had to speak to our two children and remind them they were safe and there is something wrong with the Fat man they just met.
I should add at this point my wife has worked in mental health over 20 years. She has dealt with the topic of sexual abuse both from the victims side (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service CAMHS - Leeds) and from the perpitrator side (Durham Prison).
I take no pleasure in raising this complaint, what started as a happy family outing to look for a new home ended with me and my wife asking ourselves 'did we just meet a pedo?'
Selling your property …
From Luke's first visit and advising the value of my house, the phone calls with Chris and Jane I found all the staff att Paul Carr's helpful, friendly, courteous and when phoning them with queries, I was always answered with patience and understanding. I have no hesitation in recommending them when selling your property.
Timely and efficient
Great service from timely and efficient Estate Agent - Tom, based at Paul Carr, Walmley.
Great wyrley office are pants forth…
Great Wyrley office are pants forth time I contacted them in last few weeks they never rang me back on a property I left a voicemail so I rang again they said sorry sold so couldn’t be bothered to let me know. yesterday morning twice I rang again it’s always voicemail and I left a another message then got a call back saying I will contact the vendor and call you back well still waiting 36 hrs later a waste of time point is I am a buyer ready to go there loss plenty other good agents around perhaps that’s why I don’t see them as much as I used to carry on that way you won’t have customers to pay wages.
Not a pleasant experience buying from…
Not a pleasant experience buying from them. Found them to be unprofessional and hated visiting the sales office in brownhills. One member of staff every time we went to the office looked at us as if we were something she'd trod in, made us feel very uncomfortable. Reading the reviews on here it seems I'm not the only one to experience this unprofessional attitude.
DO NOT USE!!
I trusted this company to sell my property. The property was empty so I supplied them with a set of keys so they could do viewings at their convenience. On one occasion they locked themselves out with the keys in the lock inside, they had to effectively climb over the back garden fence to get back in the property, then on TWO further separate occasions they let the front door unlocked and lights on. I try and get in touch with them to remove my property from market and they repeatedly fail to return my calls. DO NOT USE!!!!
Unsociable calls
Keep getting calls from a Mick on behalf of Paul Carr Erdington at unsociable times. 20:45 at night. Then text messages after you don’t answer due to the time.
Wants to do surveys during the day but will call you anytime at night to try and arrange them. Really not impressed with the company.
Uncomfortable
I went to view a house alone in the evening, the estate agent made me feel very uncomfortable. He stroked my back multiple times and said I ‘seemed the right sort’. (I am a young female)
The estate agent also didn’t know answers to any of my questions about the property or landlord, did not allow me to take photographs, and accepted a work call mid conversation.
I was relieved to leave and would advise against Paul Carr
Appalling
The experience started well with an enthusiastic valuer and valuation along with promises of open days, active marketing etc. Sadly matters deteriorated when the sale was handed over to the sales / marketing team.
We offered to help with viewings. Even on the first viewing we were told that there were no staff available for the viewing and it would be cancelled and rearranged. When we reminded the sales team that we were prepared to do the viewings and asked for the appointment not to be cancelled and we would do it ourselves miraculously an agent was available.
What then followed were a series of viewings regarding which we only ever received feedback when we chased. The standard response being “I was just about to call you….”
Sales were not targeted. For example we were put to work getting a quote for an electric vehicle charge point to be installed at the flat when it was clear the prospective buyer would not be taking up the option.
The whole approach was really unprofessional and lacked pro activity. The attitude appeared to be it’s on Righmove so that our job done….
Then we had an approach from another Estate Agent and indicated to Paul Carr we were considering changing Agent. At this point there was a change of approach. There was a WhatsApp group set up to aid communication and emails were sent to prospective buyers. Shame it was the threat of loosing business that prompted some action.
A buyer was eventually secured with a good offer. And Paul Carr advised that the sale would be faster if we used their “in-house” solicitor. This actually turned out to be Davisons. They also indicated there would be a specialist adviser in the Paul Carr team appointed to help chase Solicitors, buyers etc. in other words make sure the process was smooth and efficient.
This also turned out to be a total farce. The solicitor recommended was near useless and appeared to only reacted if we visited their premises in person for updates. We had a different name for the individual dealing with the matter each time we asked for information on progress. A shambles. The process took two months longer than the original estimates timescale (one month was lost due to the solicitor putting the wrong code on a payment for an information enquiry)
The co-ordinating individual at Paul Carr was little better and made no difference to the process whatsoever.
We will never use Paul Carr again and will not be recommending them.
This company constantly advertise…
This company constantly advertise properties not available.
Its a phishing exercise, they also make you register before they will get back to you.
Awful service
Awful service.
Tried getting viewings, either not get back to me or never the one I want to view is available anymore but still listed. Never again.
Paul carr....Utter clowns
Utter clowns. After 6 months in the property in Walsall, on the first inspection I told them the kitchen roof leaks, the reply was " its always leaked". It took a year to have the utility room floor repaired after it collapsed, and I had to remove the old floor the repair man left behind. It took 3 years to get the dining room ceiling repaired, 2 years to get the leaking porch repaired another 2 years to get the entrance cracked plastering to be looked at let alone repaired, but be a day late with the rent and they are straight on the phone.
Charged me £560 to clean the windows and cut the grass a month after we moved out. Absolute useless and avoid at all costs
Worst estate agency ever
Worst estate agency ever. Charge us £120 for not cleaning the garden (we handed the keys a month before the tenancy agreement ended, with grass frehsly cut, but when they did the check out month and a half later they said that the garden is not clean),anyway they kept the money but rented the property with a garden looking like a jungle.
Company with no principal
Company with no principal, moral or care for the purchaser, had the same problem twice, time wasters
