Was looking to purchase a property from…

Was looking to purchase a property from them drove down from london (125 miles) was told before making my way that I’d be advised of offers if any come in over mine, I left a offer 7k over asking, I then received a call asking for best and final offer but would not disclose or advise what region I’d need to be in; no assistance whatsoever… fuming as I was told they would let me know so I can adjust my offer seemed as if they have taken some under the table offer they would not disclose what the vender was looking for… birmingham must have moved itself into Scotland as that’s where sealed bids are done! Also lying to get people to waste time and effort to go for viewings then 2 weeks later I have to call back to be advised someone had put in a higher offer!!! Don’t waste your time unless you want to give them 10k under the table!

The team at Paul Carr Four Oaks have all been so professional and proactive. From the initial valuation with Faye and the sale being agreed the team are always on hand. Kimberley is even happy to message out of hours to help if needed. Thank you to you all. I would definitely recommend.

Insisting on a MIP - unlawful request

Called them to ask to view a property. They insisted I could only view if I had a mortgage in principle. Yhis is not a lawful request. Advised them I only get a MIP if my offer was accepted. Getting too many of them negatively affects your credit score, some mortgage companies dont even do them. I advised that my financial advisor could confirm my financial position. They tried to push me to speak to their financial advisor. Absolute disgrace! Incompetent estate agents.

Never sell a house with these jokers nothing but bad experience they don't know what they are doing and before they accept offers they ask to see in your bank accounts. Not to mention they mess you around about who's offering what on houses just to get the house price up. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Disappointed with the service from the…

Disappointed with the service from the Kingstanding branch. At times had to chase multiple times for updates on the sale of my property, the person handling my sale in my opinion was very poor and in the end I could barely stand speaking to her on the phone.

I had two potential buyers and emailed giving clear instructions to accept an offer from one buyer and not to tell the other potential buyer till I had heard re the other offer, they did the complete opposite to what I asked and contacted the other buyer who then increased their offer. I felt pushed into accepting an offer I didn’t really want to from the second buyer and don’t believe they told the other lady her offer had been accepted. I would never use or recommend Paul Carr again.

Four Oaks Sutton Coldfield

Really bad customer service at the Four Oaks. Branch ( too long a story to explain). Very inefficient and they never called us back, despite saying that they would . We must have called them about 6 times . A comedy of errors . Eventually got to view the property that I’d been trying to see for weeks ! No one ever called us back to see if we wanted to buy it ! I know it’s been tough with Covid 19 but not calling clients is inexcusable - surprised they’re still afloat as they don’t seem to want your business !! The staff don’t seem to communicate with each other .

Erdington branch (York Rd)

Erdington branch (York Rd, Erdington, B'ham, B23 6TE) - absolutely awful. What a disgrace to the chain.

I had to continually chase for information as nobody kept me informed, nobody answered my emails or telephone calls. The staff do not work together, so I was receiving conflicting information from the different staff when I did manage to speak to people. I raised a complaint by email which was not looked into, even though it was replied with a poor excuse.
Absolutely awful - I had to use an alternative way of selling my property, as this branch were not interested in selling my property at all. For 16 weeks, there were NO viewings through Paul Carr, Erdington branch!

Terrible experience. Go elsewhere.

Never use this company

Never use this company! They lie, don't pass on offers to vendors and are very rude. When confronted about their actions they continued to lie even though I had evidence to prove they were. Even when I told them I had reported them to the ombudsmen they didn't care!! Awful company, luckily family and friends have sold their houses through other companies that are much more reliable.

Corruption at its best.

Ill keep this short and simple theyre Corrupt, liars, bullies, manipulative. They only have their own interests at heart not the buyers or sellers. They'll happily silence you out if you don't do as they say especially if you don't use their mortgage "SPECIALIST"
They need to be properly regulated to stop buyer and sellers getting a bad deal due to the agents own interests.

Paul Carr,Four Oaks

Paul Carr, rural homes ,Four Oaks. The most inefficient ,unprofessional company I have encountered. They failed to respond to phone calls ,E-mails and personal visits. They continued to market a sold property. They failed to disclose the only other offer and although unknowingly I was the higher bidder tried to get me to increase my offer. Do not trust them and check your phone if they tell you the time.

Used their Great Barr branch

Used their Great Barr branch, Natalie and her staff are first class we would have been lost without their help and advice during and difficult complicated sale, goodness knows what we would have done if we'd have used an internet business. Knowing who to contact and that they knew what was going on was invaluable

Booked a viewing with Erdington branch

Booked a viewing with Erdington branch. Got to the house at booked time/day but no one was there. Called and was told appointment was never booked and we have to wait a few days for next available slot. Only for the house to have accepted an offer during this time. Lost out on bidding for the house as a result of administration error. The person who "booked" us in was apparently a part timer who knew nothing - then why was she taking bookings?

Avoid go it want a easier process and want to work with professionals

Avoid at all costs if you want to sell your property, go find another agent. Don’t believe the hype that they are largest estate agents in Birmingham, it doesn’t mean you`ll have a smooth, support process selling your home. They found me a buyer that was pain to deal with, I had no support from the local office when the buyer started playing up, even to the point I wanted to go back to market they would find excuses, get angry with me and convince me to stick with their buyer all because it meant easy sale and commission. Harry is somewhat inexperienced but trying his best but not very good when he gets told to carry out instructions from the seller i.e. if the seller says don’t take down the for sale sign it’s my property don’t argue back and if the seller says go find other buyers as the one Paul Carr found was a waste of time, don’t refuse, otherwise it gets to the point where the seller starts making demands! The office manager Paul, clearly had issues, he told me he would do a multi agent and then on the day of signing up he refused point blank, my mistake should have walked out then but they were cheaper. He soon quit his job as I found out later on he had a temper and the staff had made complaints about him. This explains a lot of things esp. when I wanted out of the contract, he couldn’t work out the 12 weeks end date of contract and added extra days and made up deals without putting them in writing and threw temper tantrum, good thing I recorded all my calls with him. General rule of thumb, they price it lower to middle of the market to make sale and not top end like everyone else. Sue who works part time, all I can say is avoid, she`s got years of experience but somewhere she has lost those skills and experience e.g. I knew of a property that sold near me and when I asked for details that they had listed etc. she was telling me a different price to what it was sold, despite me telling her I know the owners and the property quite well. She thought it was a good idea to go under the asking price to attract buyers clearly not a good idea. Biggest let down of Paul Carr was the volume of buyers; they had a trickle compared to the other agents. Also they don’t advertise on zoopla like everyone else, they use Right move and on the market.com, the latter of which is more around the south, everyone else uses zoopla even the national estate agents. The only good thing I can say about Paul Carr is there back office girls are fantastic and they do an amazing job keeping up with the seller and they don’t sugar coat it.

Very rude staff

Having bought a number of houses through them I have found the staff to be rude and snooty. They ask unnecessary questions and have no diversity in their teams - hiring in a similar mould. I would never sell a property through them and hope the new estate agents on the market disminish their market share. I also find it laughable that they post their own very positive reviews on review websites such as referenceline, which isn't open to reviews from the public. Scared of honest reviews?
