Appalling company. Vultures.

Appalling company. Filled out my details and got a call back stating that I was approved for up to £900. Booked a measuring appointment and was told it would be £50 cash deposit on the day if I decided to go ahead but its okay if I didn't decide to go ahead.

John was the sales person who came and visited me today to do measurements etc. Just for clarification this is a small one bedroom flat so was looking for carpet for one double bedroom, living room and hallway.

I was then quited £910 for the living room and hallway, the bedroom wasnt included, which I was in disbelief at the astronomical price. £20 a week or £80 a month.

He then proceeded to tell me that the way it works is that you leave a £50 deposit on the day, then once you've paid off 20% of your balance which totals £182, then they will arrange a fitting appointment. Which then at the fitting appointment you have to pay another £105 to the fitters.

I then said I will have to think about things and to see what my budget allows, John then proceeded to get rather snarky and proceeded to tell me that he's "worked in sales a long time" and he knows that I'll think about it means no 90% of the time. He then proceeded to blame the office staff for not telling people that ideally the deposit is ready to just go ahead and do things. He also said that he only would bother keeping measurements for 3-4 days and would bin them and would have to repeat the process if I changed my mind. was just so uncomfortable at this point that I ended the appointment.

I ended up finding carpets to do my entire flat for less then £200.

Hidden costs, insane prices and pushy staff. Preying on people who cannot afford to buy outright, its a disgusting practise. Would much rather have no carpets than use a company like this. Avoid like the plague. Dont get sucked into a rabbit hole of a company who is blatantly missing rooms off, so you continue to use more credit to finish the house off.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Avoid like the plague absolutely disgusting customer service. I changed my mind and cancelled this was in may and still waiting on a refund.Every time I ring no answer or I get someone will call you back dirty robbing ba*****s customer service is shocking only got one star as there's no option for zero stars

Cowboy Outfit

So the guys offer a pa as you go service. Get a call shortly after leaving my details stating I have a £900 pre approved limit. Guy comes out next day to estimate, looks at my property and without asking questions just says he cannot do it. No questions, just picks up his stuff and leaves. Real cowboy outfit. AVOID!

Scammers!

Scammers!! I have paid nearly £1000 and I have requested a fitting appointment and the lady said I would get a call, it’s been over a week. I leave voicemails everyday and still no one has contacted me back. Will be applying for my money back through the courts. Scammers!!

Awful scam of a company!

Absolutely awful company! Surveyor comes out to do measurements and agrees to us saying that we can’t physically move every piece of furniture out the rooms but we would be happy to move them from each side of the room to the other for them to do the carpet/flooring. We rip all flooring and carpets up ready, and they cancel one job on us without telling us and they refuse to do another and then refuse to give you any money back you paid so far. Would not bother with them, day light robbery and an absolute piss take to deal with. Woman we dealt with on the phone tried to convince us to just have money off a next job because she did not want to do the paper work. Absolute joke.

Woukd give zero if I could

Woukd give zero if I could. Sales person sold me flooring that wasn't suitable for my sub floor/room. They didn't check what subfloor I had, despite being in my home for the appointment. Waited ages for fitting due to company policy that you have to have paid 20% of cost of floor before they'll fit it, then on day of fitting the fitters arrived and told me that they couldn't fit the floor as it wasn't suitable at all and I shouldn't have been sold that type of flooring in the first place. Fitters said they'd contact PAYG carpets and they'd let them know what had happened and I'd get a call. Its now been a week and I keep getting fobbed off, no sign of a refund of the money I've already paid and no apology or contact from a manager or the complaints team as I've requested. Will be taking this to trading standards or citizens advice. Appalling lack of customer service and a sales team who clearly only care about getting their bit of commission and not about the customer getting the right product.

I would give zero if possible

I would give zero if possible, 5weeks since initial visit. Fitting cancelled on day after ripping my carpets up as issue with floor, told it would be fitted a week later. However 3 weeks on still have no flooring, rang everyday and spoke to the same Women, who told me someone will ring me back which never happened. The phone lines are a nightmare to get through to. Waiting on the manager to ring me back even tho he was meant to ring me last week. Went to the Sunderland based and it was all locked up. Absolutely disgusting service. Would not recommend at all stay well clear !

Absolutely shocking service!

Absolutely shocking service!! The initial appointment and quote were great!l and paid the deposit. However, comes to fitting day and no one turned up, I contacted PAYG carpets twice and both times they reassured they were coming, get to 4:30pm I ring again and get placed on hold for 15 minutes to then be cut off and from there no one answered the phone. Over the next 2 days I messaged, called and left voicemails to only receive one message to say a manager would be in touch with me in 24 hours to rectify the situation. Here I am 3 days later and still no contact despite multiple extra messages I have sent to their Facebook chat where I have warned I will take this to the ombudsman. I have left voicemails and made numerous attempts to call them with no answer!

We are now on day 5 with my daughter having an empty room with a concrete floor and half a bed to sleep on as we have been waiting for the floor to be done for her new bed to be built! Currently there are no signs of this being rectified! I was recommended this company and this is the service I have received!

Absolutely disgusting!

Exceptional

There's only one word to describe Pay As You Go Carpets and that is "EXCEPTIONAL".
From the minute I rang them I felt like I'm the only one that matters to them. Within days I had a professional surveyor seeing me in my home. I rapidly realised that the carpet samples he had brought were of good quality. Their underlay was better than my existing carpets
It was explained how their credit terms work and it makes it very affordable.
The fitting was done the following week. And they did an excellent job too.
From start to finish I was kept up to date with everything.and I even had courtesy calls asking if everything was OK. I fully recommend Pay as you Go Carpets to everyone. It was so easy to get them . Nothing was a problem.

Shocking

Lounge and stairs fitted yesterday for my daughter, £1300 I went today to see how much waste had been left, the guy who measured it was his first day and was clueless my husband is ex carpet fitter of 20 years and disgusted at what this company have done. No way should this carpet cost that much waste. I’m now booking independent company to measure and check waste then going to ombudsman absolutely disgusting. Don’t answer phone or reply to emails they a joke.

I got measured for a bedroom carpet and…

I got measured for a bedroom carpet and paid the deposit. The fitter messaged me on the morning of fitting to tell me a time for when he would arrive . He didn’t arrive so I messaged him to ask when he was coming . He turned up after 6 at night . There was no working light in my room so I did let him know . He came out the carpet down and what a mess it was left in . Bubbles all over . Gaps around the room and carpet cut wrong in corners leaving holes . I rang him to come back which he did but it was still a mess . I rang them in morning to be told he would come back 7 days later to then be told he would need to rearrange as wasn’t anywhere near my home. I had flat pack to go up for my children and couldn’t wait any longer . I told him not to bother coming back . I’ve had to go with it the best I can and after sending the photos to them and the state it was left in I was never even offered money off or a refund . I won’t ever be using them again .

Quality carpets at a great price

Dealing with this company was stress free they are friendly and helpful. The two carpet fitters were amazing and went out of there way to be helpful. The quality of the carpet and underlay is great I was surprised would definitely recommend pay as you go carpets

Really aggressive sales tried charging…

Really aggressive sales tried charging me £1400 for a landing and a living room and got a quoat elsewhere for £600 when I put in a complaint in about the sales rep for being rude and aggressive with me demanding a £50 deposit upfront that's non refundable as it cost him to drive from north shields 🤣 the rep on the phone said to me oh well that's his job even though its a non obligation quote I'd say avoid if you don't want to be bullied in to a finance product
