No nonsense, exactly what I asked for and more

Needs to do better, if it wants to survive.

Booked online on ProTyre website.
Arrived and not aware of booking (same-day booking).
“Online diary not correct. Lads on lunch. Wait 1 hour”.
No ownership or apology.
Paid online for front tracking (only option)
Rear tracking also required (expected)
Asked for discount, but didn’t really click why I was asking. Gave -£5 off.
Asian guy comes in. Can’t speak good England.
Mutters about steering/tracking issue, but the staff member couldn’t be less interested. First words - “You need book an appointment”, before repeating himself, but loud enough so that the translation no longer mattered.
Old couple waiting 2 months for a part. And I mean like, 80 years old couple. And the staff member was quoting jargon and telling them about the complexities for calibrating an ADAS machine and they just had no clue what he was talking about.
I had to interrupt and explain to them that the garage were waiting on someone to fix a that’s required to install her part and stop her safety systems faulting.
I don’t know. Maybe it was a bad day. Looked like low staff, but also looked like low bookings.
Get a positive, rapport-building telephonist / receptionist out front to sell some hours sold and get the techs back under vehicles where they should be, because the setup I experienced, isn’t a sustainable one.

I booked my MOT online at the time slot I wanted. I received confirmation for the time slot. I arrived at the garage on time to be told I could be waiting a hour and half because they were double booked. I complained because it was at a fixed time slot and should only take a hour, but was told that time slots booked online aren't guaranteed, or words similar. My car was ready after a hour though, so all good or I would have down marked them. Traveling nearly 10 miles for a MOT when there are other garages more locally means I don't want to be wasting time when I get there, but as I say, it turned out ok in the end.

Always use protyre for new or winter tyres swaps. Easy booking. Great service. Well informed and engaging staff.

Booked in for mot and knew would need a new tyre due to its age was all sorted new tyre fitted and balanced prior to mot. Excellent service as usual

It was very easy to book an MOT appointment online. The staff were very helpful when I turned up and the MOT was carried out quickly.

I had a very positive experience with the team at Thistlethwaite Tyre & Exhaust – Team Protyre. The staff were courteous, professional, and took the time to clearly explain the issues with my car, showing genuine concern for my safety and understanding of the situation. Although they weren’t able to resolve all of the issues initially due to limited access to certain parts from their suppliers, they kept me fully informed and offered helpful guidance. Once I was able to source the necessary repairs elsewhere, I returned and they promptly completed my wheel alignment to a high standard. I really appreciated their honesty, communication, and customer-focused approach, highly recommended.

Quick service repairing my tyre. I phoned explaining I had a nail in my tyre I was told I could to go straight to the garage. My tyre was repaired in quick time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Protyre Bolton.

I had my car’s air conditioning recharged at Protyres, and shortly after the service my AC completely stopped working. I was later advised that the compressor no longer engages.

When I contacted Protyres, I asked for details of the oil used during the recharge, as my vehicle uses an electric compressor that requires a specific, non-conductive oil. Despite repeated requests over the past three months, the company has been unable (or unwilling) to confirm what oil was used.

This raises serious concerns that a standard, incorrect oil may have been used — which can cause damage to electric compressors. Based on the sequence of events, it appears highly likely that the compressor failure was a direct result of Protyres’ improper servicing.

To make matters worse, communication has been extremely poor. After months of chasing for a simple answer, I am still left without resolution and a non-functional air conditioning system.

Overall, a deeply frustrating experience marked by technical negligence and lack of responsibility. I would strongly advise others to avoid using Protyres for AC servicing, especially for vehicles with electric compressors.

Made a last minute MOT booking after my existing garage had to cancel due to an equipment failure. PROTYRE were courteous, on time. (Actually took my car in straight away when I arrived early) no fuss and passed with no advisories....easy from start to finish

I'm really happy with the service at Protyre Bolton. I wanted to pay in cash, but the website didn't give that option. When I called, the guy at the front desk was very helpful and booked the tyre fitting for me without any issue. I came in, showed him the online quote from their website, and paid exactly that price in cash. Everything went smoothly, quickly and professionally. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the tyre prices were the best I found in Bolton after checking several garages online. Highly recommended!
