Booked vehicle in for diagnosis due to…knocking on front end

Booked vehicle in for diagnosis due to knocking from front wheel. After an hour which was very efficient, I was told it was a drop link that was in need of repair. So booked vehicle in for following week. At the time was told that it was better to do them in pairs.£85 for 1 and £167 for the pair, so decided oh having both sides done. Left the vehicle the evening before and told staff they basically had all the following day to do repair.
Had a phone call on the afternoon of repair, to be told that they had only managed 1 side. This had taken 2 hours and the vehicle was ready to collect. On arrival to collect the vehicle, I was given the bill. £156 for 1 side, which I questioned. Was told because it took longer than the book time I had to pay extra, finally paying £135.
Surely once a price is given, then it is not my fault it took longer than the expected time (0.8 hours both sides).
Will definitely not be using PROTYRE again.

Excellent advice as to the problem

There was a potential problem with the…

There was a potential problem with the locking wheel it's. I was able to watch the fitter solving it. I was also impressed with the way he talked me through tracking errors and gave advice about corrosion on one of the wheels.

Get a written quote first

Took my car in for a diagnosis after a ( A knocking coming from front ). Diagnosed what the problem was and got me booked in.I was told the problem was a link and that it would cost £84 inclusive of labour for each side. I Was told it was recommended to do both sides. Today I went to collect my car to be told they only did one side as it took longer than they allowed for( 2 hours). So I expected to pay £84. Instead I was charged £135. For only the one side. I of course complained to be told that I had to pay for the extra labour. MY ADVICE IS GET A WRITTEN QUOTE BEFORE HAVING WORK CARRIED OUT ON YOUR CAR.

After discovering a puncture on the motorway, I tried several garages in Cheltenham, Mark and his team were the only ones who were helpful, very pleasant and fitted a new tyre quickly.

Really good service and advice

Really good service and advice - bought 4 new tyres and tracking check last week. They took time to show me what they were doing and any concerns they had. They made sure that the hubs were free from corrosion before wheels went back on and attention to detail was superb (making sure that the BMW centre logo was aligned to valve location was a nice touch). Really happy with the experience
