DISGRACEFUL

Recieved a letter from them. Addressed personally to me. On phoning asked where did they get my details, given to them by a credit agency!!! They also addressed it to me, I have never given permission for any credit agency to use my details let alone Provident to address me by my Christian name.
The worst was it was touting for people to take out a loan with an APR at over 500 at a time an in an area which over the years has had deprivation, so why ask people to take out a loan knowing they will stuggle more......all I can say about Provident............no I am not stopping to their level.
IF I COULD I WOULD NEVER GIVEN A STAR BUT THEN I COULD NOT LEAVE A REVIEW.

Used to have an agent collect…

Used to have an agent collect fortnightly until the lockdown ( then they stopped) .a couple of months passed I received 2 separate letters saying they couldn't understand why I haven't made any payments ? No mention was made whatsoever about the covid19 pandemic on the letters , yet they mentioned the covid19 situation on their website for those who were looking to take out a loan

, looks like a bit of different treatment for those wanted credit and those who are been chased for payments.also I recieved correspondence from utility providers explaining what was happening during the covid19 pandemic.

shocking service

I had a Provident loan a couple of years ago, never had the same agent call each week then all of a sudden they stopped all together, I have been trying to pay my loan in full for the last 4 months, due to my job can't call them but don't know my customer number to make the payment online. For some reason they will not provide me with this and have now referred me to a debt collection agency. the only plus side to this now is I can now just pay it in full to them, should not have come to this though, they don't seem to care that they are making people worse off with there attitude and actions, avoid at all cost.

AVOID AT ALL COST

AVOID AT ALL COST! unfortunately I was in such a bad situation I had no option but to use Provident loans. I would really advise anyone who needs a loan to explore every other possible option before resorting to this. This company should not be allowed to exist. And when they say they will do things to “help” they won’t.

provident ruined my credit score

after i successfully completed two seperate loans i was told i could borrow upto £900 . So i applied for £700 and got a refusal ! I was told by prov that i was refused due to being self employed ? yet they granted me two recent loans, and i was self employed then ?
i was told that they had changed the rules !!!... Even worse this refusal went on my credit score !!!! .... One month later my work status was not self employed so i applied again ,only to be refused again because your not able to re-apply until 3months has passed and also because i failed a credit check !!
What a mess provident screws up my credit rating!!

Absolute Hassle

If you have multiple loans over lapping they don't merge them together to make one bill, they send two separate statements which can be confusing.

During bereavement I had some issues dealing with the collections team and i started making the payments online instead to cut out the middle man...however even though i was making payments they didn't like me paying online, (which is messed up because you'd think they'd want to make repayment as simple and stress free as possible), so they transferred me to another collections team and stopped me being able to pay online.
after that i got an all pay card which was a hassle in the store to use because it didn't always register in the machine.

Thank fully they sold my debt on and now i'm able to make payments quick and simple online, i'll never get another loan from here again.

So please please for the love of god! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

Not only that they harass me constantly on a weekly basics asking for money theres even been times they come over when im ill and been in hospital I get a phone call from my mum they still come over whist i was in hospital and asking for bloody money, how sick is that!

I had 20 loans with them over 7 years…

I had 20 loans with them over 7 years and was never out of debt to them. Even when I went onto a payment plan because I was struggling they lent me more as soon as the plan finished. I went to the ombudsman and he ruled in my favour that 80% of the loans should never have been given to me. Have a hefty payout to come from them but all they do is stall at every opportunity and are disgraceful in their customer care. I spoke with my agent on a regular basis and they have to sell a certain amount of loans and receive x amount of £s each week to earn their commission. By the time I took my last loan out I was expected to pay back £600 a month and no affordability checks were taken out to see if this was o.k on my salary. I have to say they put profit before their customers.

I don't see what all the fuss and negativity is about with all the bad reviews Provident have been excellent or better I say my agent has been brilliant ! Won't put the person's name for privacy but when they see my name they will know who they are . As for all of you moaning about paying it back you all knew that when they gave you the loan ! It isn't a gift ! Nothing has ever been too much trouble and answered all my questions , very patient too . Thank you very much ! Highly recommend .

Harassing

If I could give a 0 or - star rating then I would. No matter how many harassing phone calls you ignore (speakers are broke and been cut off so couldn’t reply to the messages) they just don’t give up. I’ve been sending several emails and filling the online form out telling them my current situation and still receiving up to 5 phone calls and voice messages a day. Worse thing I have ever done is get a loan out with them. Sooner it’s paid off the better.

We're in even more money problems than we were in before and you don't know how annoying it is that they keep calling and coming over EVERY wk asking for money even if it's been paid!!!! I've told everyone i know to stay away from these people. I can't wait till I NEVER have to deal with them again!!

What a money grabbing company this is

What a money grabbing company this is
Put in complaint about irresponsible lending having over 20 loans with them since 2005
Agreed they lent irresponsible against one loan only even though new loans were taken for more than the previous ones and some of the new loan was taken to pay off the last
How can they justify saying only one was irresponsible
Taken this up with ombudsman and looking at FOS website they are agreeing with over 85% of cases regarding provident

Please be careful with Provident

Please be careful with Provident, your pay nearly 100% back. There is one other thing you all need to be careful about, if you need to take care of a loved one who has become ill and you go part time from work to take care of then and your money is less per month, inform Provident (which would be the right thing to do) if you can't pay the normal amount that your used to paying them inform them, they will have to accept your offer under the circumstances. However over the time that you pay less to them the next six years will show on your credit report that you have had late payments/missed payments on your account with Provident. This would over these years make it harder for you to get credit because this looks bad on your credit report. My report now will show late payments for the next 6 years. This is because i had taken care of a loved one (my mum had dementia and also a stroke) provident was aware of this).
