Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 213 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people expressed significant disappointment with the product, noting a drastic decline in quality and a change in taste, describing it as artificial, waxy, and not like chocolate at all. Customers also found the products to be overpriced for what they received, feeling that the value for money was extremely poor. The service was also a point of contention, with many feeling that the company had cut corners and was prioritizing profit over customer satisfaction, leading to a general sense of betrayal and a refusal to purchase again. Some people were dissatisfied with the changes to the wrappers, finding them dull and cheap compared to the previous shiny, colorful ones, which diminished the overall excitement of the product. Additionally, the size and quantity of the product were frequently criticized, with many noting smaller tubs and fewer chocolates, further contributing to the feeling of decreased value.

Nestle have changed since they…

Nestle have changed since they introduced the cheaper palm oil into the chocolate. The taste is completely different as is the texture. I no longer buy quality street specifically for that reason. I prefer to pay more and have better quality chocolate.
The wrappers have changed which also impacts on the disappointment. Over all sadly very disappointing

Never buying again!

We saw that Tesco had a huge amount of Quality Street for almost half price. We have a family event coming up so thought it would be nice to put some in small jars on the tables. I opened the lid and was surprised to see dull wrappers not the shiny ones I was expecting. Most of the shapes were the same round domes, again not was I was expecting. We tried a couple of them and they are disgusting. It's not chocolate but a chemical taste with weird consistency. I don't know about 'Quality' Street as there is no Quality. No wonder Tesco has so many of them at a reduced price. Last time I will ever buy them.

I was given some as a present

I was given some as a present. I had not had any for several years. They have changed completely. There is no chocolate and it tastes and feels like chewing sweet plastic. Are we American now eating stuff that's not real food? The sweets were absolutely awful.

What have they done

What have they done? The were my favourites especially the triangles and purple one. They are horrible now, no chocolate taste, fillings are terrible, why does the triangle one taste of orange? I will never buy these again. Corner cutting, bean counting money punching rubbish. False economy but this company, they will be selling less and less each year now.

Waste of money!!!

What on earth has happened to Quality Street? I have just purchased a tub, and honestly it had to be the most disgusting chocolates that I have ever had the misfortune of tasting.

Quality Street use to be my absolute favourite, but now I can't even explain what I am eating. All my favourites are gone, where are all the strawberry and orange crèmes?

Why it is that companies always feel the need to have to change things for the sake of it? You know that old saying, 'if it is not broken, it doesn’t need fixing'

Absolute waste of money!!!

Not so Quality Street

They're no longer exciting when you open the tub. Part of the excitement were the colourful, shiny wrappers. Okay, I can put up with that for environmental reasons, but the chocolate is also bad. It doesn't taste like chocolate anymore, not even poor chocolate, just not chocolate. The toffee is not very pleasant anymore. It all just tastes artificially sweet. I won't bother buying any again. It's not worth it.

Awful

So disappointed! QS used to be just that! Quality! But not anymore. They've shrunk the iconic purple one to something that barely has any caramel and is so small now. Every "chocolate" in the pack now doesn't even taste like chocolate where they have seriously reduced the cocoa amount. It's like eating a bland box of cardboard nothing. Will never be buying again! They have ruined the good name that people have many happy memories of for many years. Shame on U Nestlé

Exceptionally poor quality.

Every so-called chocolate from Quality Street tastes so disgusting it's a chore to finish a single one. Nestle are running the brand into the ground, but likely making 10x on every tub. Only Nestle is capable of this sort of brand-suicide, they are the Ratners of the big tub chocolate world. Exceptionally poor quality street, don't give them any of your money.

What on earth has happened to these…

What on earth has happened to these chocolates?! Purchased a box of purple ones as I always loved these, and by gosh they are awful. The chocolate is hard and tasteless. Really upsetting. The Americans are ruining the taste of our beloved British chocolates. I won’t be buying these again alas. Another traditional favourite ruined.

The absolute pits in confectionery

The absolute pits in confectionery. So upsetting when well-meaning relatives buy you this for birthday/Christmas, and you find that the standard has actually got worse than last year. Won't repeat other valid complaints, but add that unless you really like the nondescript creams in red and orange wrapping ,which must be the cheapest to make, and seem to comprise 60% at least of the tin, you'll have to rummage around to find anything edible. Shame on you Nestle.

Hilarious 😂😂😂😂

😂😂😂😂😂 Quality Street used to represent quality at Christmas. For decades I remember eating far too many because they were so nice. Price never stops me buying. But over the years many changes have been made because of greed and making more profit. First of all the tubs started to shrink, then they made the mistake of keeping prices cheap by further shrinkflation. Then out of desperation they started selling through out the year because of falling sales. But they still kept loosing sales so cut back further in quality and quantity. Then I noticed the taste had changed and was sickly sweet. I could no longer eat more than a few. God knows what ingredients they changed. That's when I stopped buying. That was 6 years ago. Since then changes in size of individual chocolates, wrappers changed to paper that feel cheap, and even less in a tub now. Prices are still around £5 and have even fallen to £4. These days every shop has them stacked sky high all through the year. Why? Because no one who remembers the quality from years ago, will buy them, and younger people think they taste like crap. All because of putting profit before quality. Now I just smile every time I walk pass stacks of tubs that no one wants and knowing they are loosing sales.

Unfortunate use of American type…

Unfortunate use of American type recipe. Lived in the USA for three years and did not enjoy much of their chocolate. Now Nestle are seem to have adopted it in the British market.

Awful

Hadn't had any Quality Street for a long time. This tub was a present. The taste has changed from really good chocolate to third rate waxy cooking chocolate. The wrappers are cheap, made of paper and something you would expect from cut price chocolates. The flavours are barely distinguishable and the favourites are missing. I will not be trying these again. You took a quality British product and turned it into absolute rubbish, surprising since nestle is supposed to be a quality name. Has definitely put me off buying other Nestle products. Cadbury has gone the same way.

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful. “Quality” streets have obviously never heard the phrase “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” Why would they think it’s a good idea to tamper with the recipe and shape of the chocolate. The once magnificent purple one has now been reduced to a pathetic, nondescript chocolate. F@CK YOU nestle
