Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 213 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers widely report that the chocolates no longer taste as they used to, often described as artificially sweet, waxy, and lacking distinct flavors, leading many to feel the overall quality has significantly declined. Many people also expressed disappointment with the packaging, noting that the wrappers are now dull, cheap, and no longer visually appealing, while product size has significantly decreased and prices have increased. Specific changes, like the altered shape and missing nut in the 'Purple One' chocolate, have also frustrated many.

I used to love quality street long back ago. I would wait until someone brought it from abroad. and recently After long time I got one from metro, Omg it taste nothing like old ones. The package changed thats fine. But taste went down, very artificial.

Got a box of “quality” street for…

Got a box of “quality” street for Christmas 2025. Just opened them today January 2026 for a little sweet chocolate treat. So disappointed! What happened to my favourite box of chocolates? My favourites taste awful. The purple one is smaller and tastes off. The green triangle, also one of my favourites, and the green log one both taste like cheap chocolate. I haven’t had quality street in years but I remember how they used to taste. I’m sampling each one now and they all taste rank. The wrappers look cheap too. I don’t know how they can even call themselves “quality” street anymore. What on earth happened? Why did they change the ingredients? I can’t see anyone buying them now when there are other chocolates on the market. So sad, to see a chocolate company with Yorkshire roots fall into this trap of cutting costs to save money and in the process squander their taste and flavour. I’m not even going to finish these, they’re going in the bin and so too should this new recipe and if the company has sense they need to go back to how they tasted.

Nestle have cured my chocolate addiction

Recipe change is the final death of a lifetime favourite. The Quality has left the Street completely. These once loved chocolates are now disgusting, cheap tasting and sadly lacking real chocolate. I have loved these since I was a small child…. Now age 55, Christmas 2025 has seen my entire family buy their last ever box of Quality Street and Matchmakers. I would say I am a chocoholic, but these chocolates are now so disgusting that I’ve stopped eating them and decided I would rather put them in the bin than eat it. Thank for the help with the 2026 diet plan Nestle. Greed and use of cheap ingredients will be the death of you 👏

Taste like crap

Waxy horrible wrappers, all varieties taste the same - not even like chocolate. Sickly and disgusting. Nestle have completely ruined a treasured Christmas favourite in England.

RIP Quality Street

I no longer have any desire to eat Quality Street, because the wrappers are so ugly: Yuck!
Why would anyone want to open a muddy-coloured, matte, ugly wrapper to eat the chocolate inside? All my interest is lost.
In contrast, the delightful, shiny wrappers with their magical, cellophane-coloured adornments were enticing. I loved them.
RIP Quality Street; I no longer buy you. 😔

Quality Street ……Not so much Quality now.

Quality Street has been declining in quality for a number of years, smaller tubs/tins yet the price has increased, beloved shrinkflation strikes again.

The taste is not what it was, I don’t know if they are using lower grade ingredients but they are really quite tasteless now.

The wrappers are now a type of grease proof like paper, and while I understand the reason for this (sustainability) but they just don’t have the same magical Christmas feeling on unwrapping.

I certainly won’t be buying them again, there are better choices for tubs of chocolate Christmas treats.

Quality Street chocolates were stale

Quality Street chocolates were stale, wrappers disappointing and no one knew what product it was. It was terrible and the changes to Quality Street have made me decide to never purchase again, unless they go back to the QUALITY product it was.

Zero stars

Zero stars. Every year of my life at Christmas we have bought a tub, for 42 years. The “quality” has been noticeably worse year on year the last few years. This year they are absolutely gross. They do not taste of chocolate. Claggy, nasty texture, sickly and disgusting. They’re going in the bin. Each one tastes the same. As another reviewer aptly said, they need to change the name to “Shit Street”. I am never buying these again. Nestle have destroyed a British institution and a little bit of Christmas has just died. Hope you’re happy, Nestle, you killed Christmas. Santa and his reindeers are weeping. Chocolate murderers.

Budget chocolate has more taste than quality street

I wish I could give no stars! What on earth has happened to quality street? Opened a tub on Boxing Day that were bought for us. They were shockingly awful! You couldn’t really tell one from the other. They all had this weird tang of synthetic orange to the chocolate. Quality street used to have that rich taste to them with definite distinctive flavours. These were a bland mess with that weird tang. Extremely poor value for money with the unappealing lack lustre wrappers to boot. Do better or go bust!!!

In the bin

Utter disgrace, these are the worst Christmas chocolates currently on sale. We have had a few from the tub, which with the remaining chocolates sitting in the garage bin. Waxy “chocolate” which is due to the cheap replacement ingredients. Well done Nestle!

I'd give no stars if that was an option.
I had to spit out the first purple one I ate as thought it had been tainted by something with a strong smell such as a perfume or something like fairy liquid. Tried another and the same thing. Have had to chuck them away as so disgusting. I honestly worry that someone's done something in the production process as they taste that bad. What a shame. Won't ever buy again.

Virtually inedible and an insult to the British people!

Quality St this year are pretty disgusting. They have been a Christmas tradition for years but this was definitely the last. They now all taste v similar (unpleasant) with a sickly, artificial taste. Unbelievable really. You have let us all down in the name of profit. I actually gave some as presents and feel I should apologize!

Kill the brand with corporate greed!

Quality Street has been replaced with Shite Avenue! Corporate greed! Take an iconic product, change the recipe to something much cheaper and watch everybody screw their face up
On first taste. The brand is dead.
