Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 213 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers widely agree that the product's quality has significantly declined, with many describing the taste as artificially sweet, cheap, and no longer resembling chocolate. Reviewers are also disappointed with the reduced size and quantity of chocolates, often finding them overpriced for what is received. Many people also criticize the change from appealing, shiny foil wrappers to dull, cheap paper, which further contributes to the overall perception of diminished value. Many consumers specifically lament the changes to once-favorite individual chocolates, such as the purple one, noting they are now smaller, lack original components, and have altered shapes. People also frequently mention the use of cheaper ingredients like palm oil and wax, which they believe contributes to the waxy texture and unpleasant, artificial taste.

Quality downgrade

The size of the tub vs the quantity is not the best. You barely get anything in them any more. I thought the whole point of them being quality street was because they were the best quality chocolates for your pounds. The paper I dont really care about any more however ive had a few tubs now where they havent all been wrapped properly. Just feels like the moral of this box now has gone out the window they are also really expensive for what they are now even more so if you go out your way to buy the tin rather than the tub. Just wish they weren't so expensive and would last over Christmas.

QUALITY a definite thing of the past!

My goodness hasn't quality street gone downhill...chocolates are disgusting, even the purple ones! Don't buy.
Get Hero's or Celebrations. There's no comparison. I'm suprised quality street are still in business.

Quality Street should remove the…

Quality Street should remove the quality from their name and reputation, i was born in 1966 when quality streets were a quality sweet when they dominated christmas with the sparkling wrappers and quality within. Gone are the days where you could drown in a tub of quality streets and needing arm bands to get to the bottom of the tins now just to open the tub to a shallow pit where chocolates barely cover the bottom. Once were our no1 choice now not worthy of a place. Once the rolls royce of chocolates now not worthy of a banger.

Wow these have changed so badly

Wow these have changed so badly. Chocolate has no taste, no luxury residue left in the mouth the orange and strawberry fondant have become flavoured sugar. They all seem to have the same underwhelming dullness. I remember sifting through and finding the favourites the purple one, walnut whirl, the crunchy nougat that would break your jaw, the toffee one that could rip out your wisdom teeth. They all been messed about with and now you get a tin or a plastic tub of dullness. Need to be renamed as s#it street.

Not value for money

Just bought a tub of quality street and I am disappointed. In fact. Feels like you have had my pants down. 550g of what exactly. This will be the last tub we ever buy. I remember when you got a large tin and it was full. Now it doesn't even fill 2 cereal bowls to put out for visitors. Save your money and think twice. Christmas feels like retail rip off and all about maximum profit, minimum quantity or quality.

I've just bought a box of quality street and two refill bags. I can't believe I've emptied the refill bags into the already apparent full box and still easily closed the lid. Far from quality if you ask me. Should be called dodgy back street.

What has happened to Quality of Quality Streets

Chocolate shapes have changed, big purple one is now tiny and the special feeling you get when you open the box and see those shiny wrappers filled treats has disappeared, maybe nostalgia but won’t buy again because memories trashed 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

So Quality street owned by Nestlé yeah

So Quality street owned by Nestlé yeah? A company worth just shy of £200 billion. Now we know why they're worth so much, they are making all our food disgusting, cutting back from quality and still charging us. Awful chocolates, nothing like they were from my youth. Shame, another xmas tradition down the pan. Shouldn't be allowed to be called chocolate either.

The last time we buy them. Very poor quality chocolate and they have been getting worse in recent years & taste more greasy. Such a shame as these were our treat every Christmas.

I bought a tin of over priced Quality Street for my aging parents as trip down memory lane for a Christmas family get together... What an utter disappointment!!! I haven't tried these sweets since the 90s living outside the UK. Apart from the papers the taste is completely different, now much sweeter but no individual distinct flavours, the toffees, the outside chocolate all have a cheap sickly industrial taste and an orange smell that has no place being there. So, an utter waste of 25 euros and I won't buy them again.

The Purple One

Quality Street, what have you done? I will tell what you have done - you have ruined Christmas forever.
Why for the sweet love of Christ would you change the shape of The Purple One? It was bad enough when you removed the beautiful coloured cellophane and replaced it with "recycleable" dull paper but to mess with the most iconic chocolate that represents Christmas is unforgiveable.
It is with deep regret that we must now turn to a tin of Roses or maybe in desperation Miniature Heroes.
Thanks again for nothing.

Cheap, nasty rubbish that needs to be boycotted

After a few years of not having Quality Street, I was excited when a colleague cracked open and shared a (cheap, plastic) tin of the sweets. Only to be greeted by the sight of cheap, crappy, tissue paper-like wrappers and sweets half the size that they used to be. Of course the decision to ditch the foil wrappers of yore is for "environmental reasons", not stinginess and shameless corporate greed by Nestle.

I then tucked into The Purple One, only to spit it out within seconds. The chocolate was absolutely vile - sickly sweet and plastic-like with no actual taste of cocoa. It's also a pathetic tiny round sweet now, not the Brazil nut shape that previously made it so iconic. The caramel was also completely vile and syrupy and the nut was so tiny, I could barely taste it. My teeth also really hurt after eating it, which I've never experienced before with chocolate. Very worrying. I then tried my luck with a Green Triangle, but that too was quickly spat out and chucked in the bin. The praline centre has been replaced with some hideous saccharine gunk that also hurt my teeth. It also tasted like orange, for some baffling reason.

These sh*tty new Quality Street ought to come with a health and safety warning - or better, discontinued completely because everyone hates them.

Would have given a zero if possible

Would have given a zero if possible, what have they done !!!! There's definitely no Quality in these chocolates, the lovely shiny wrappers have changed to a dull waxy wrapper.. awful.. size and shape have changed, much smaller, and goodness knows what they've done to the taste. Someone's made a ' cockup' bet there's a huge drop in sales next Christmas, I won't ever buy them again.

POOR QUALITY STREET

Christmas will never be the same again. I have never been so disappointed in a product - once one of the joys of Christmas, now another BLAH!
I suggest renaming this product POOR QUALITY STREET.
