I moved to the netherlands from america and now want to go back to america. rabobank scammed us and did not treat us well.

People with a lot of money are helped earlier than the average people there. head office engages in scams and can easily get away with it. this is a fact. but the banks work for the government of course this makes sense...

The worst customer experience at Rabobank!!!

The customer service really SUCKS at Rabobank!!! I never write reviews when I am unsatisfied with a service, but Rabobank got me so frustrated that I dont see any other way...

3 weeks ago, I clicked on a phishing email and I had to block my account and the pincode. But they said in 3 work days i will receive both the card and the pincode, and my account will be activated again. But 3 weeks passed, and I have received 2 new cards, 1 of which they said also somehow got blocked (by their own mistake which they couldnt explain properly...) and I couldnt use that card and the new pincode that came with it anymore. So they told me to wait 3 working days and I will receive new card and new pincode.... yet I am still waiting... for the third week... to receive my pincode to log in to my banking app and pay my rent and all the transactions.. and whenever I call them every person gives me a completely different answer about the problem. They are so bad at managing customers I dont know what to say. I feel so stupid for still holding a rabobank account... also the system is so outdated that it requires you to have a weird scanner device with you every time you have to log in or make a large transaction through the browser. Like in which century are we living in?? Now I have to go to the bank in Amsterdam again (for the fifth time) to try to solve the issue and at least pay my rent somehow through the bank. 😑🤦🏻‍♀️ I am definitely, 100 percent opening a bank account at ING or ABN instead soon.

Discrimination at Rabobank

I don't recommend Rabobank! They are not trustworthy, nor transparent. Their customer service SUCKS.
I wanted to open a business account in Rabobank.
I've recently registered a business. I am not a private client of this bank. I decided it will be smart to divide income and not to keep all in one place.
The bank said that they don't want to open an account to me.
Although the website says you can open a business account while you don't have a private one.
Absurd.
Process: I called to the bank to open the account. I've been asked if I have a private account 3 times (call menu, one person, second person). I said no 3 times.
Then the second person showed discrimination towards me refusing to open the business account.
The reason - because I don't have any services or products that I use by Rabobank. And that I don't want to say in which bank I have my private savings. And because I indicated the reason why I chose Rabobank for my business account as it is one of the biggest banks (so I can trust it).
The questions were asked in the form of enquete. It seemed not obligatory, not transparent anyways.
No information on my side other than name and kvk number were checked. So without anything about me they make a choice of their clients. Pure discrimination.
Simply he didn't like me and didn't like that I don't want to answer a question about my private savings. But my private account is my private thing. If this is an obligatory question then it has to be clear and transparent.
NOT RECOMMENDED.
I don't want an account there after all this even for free.

NEW CLIENTS

We are relatively new clients off Rabobank having invested recently some of our Super Funds in an Investment Account. Accounts with other Banks had matured and we looked at investing with Rabobank with a new Account.Looking at their web site an accessing the various areas to open accounts is daunting so called the Call Centre for help. After a long, frustrating discussion and transfer of Digipass/Pin Numbers via the small, Calculator type machine which is difficult read we tried 3 times to access the relevant web page. After accessing this I found that to open a new account we had to transfer our funds into the existing account then transfer out again to a new account. Probably with the new account having to go through the whole process again. I then made the decision to terminate the discussion and the new transaction.
That we have accounts with other banks who have more user friendly web sites with simple steps enabled me to draw a comparison with Rabobank.
Their IT system is an IT Engineers delight and the system designed for IT Engineers NOT CUSTOMERS.
I think that Rabobank should have a complete review of their web site, access to accounts etc and develop a site that is user friendly.

RABO Bad Bank.

In my opinion, RABO Bank Nederland is a very customer-unfriendly bank. They just throw me out as a customer because they suspect me of fraud without any reason. After almost 50 years a good customer as an entrepreneur. Shame! The reason that as an entrepreneur of a gas station (highway) I paid fairly large amounts of cash into the account with RABO Bank. So I did this 3 times a week for almost 50 years. Suddenly I had to answer a lot of questions here over the past few years. My comments with explanations had no results. Shame!

Wanted to open business account to deposit a considerable amount. Not possible ???!!!! I could perhaps use it for money laundry?!?! They only want to insure wooden beams below water against fire hasard or what? This bank sucks. Truly bureaucrats without any feeling for entrepreneurship. To be avoided if you respect yourself.

They are the worst bank in history…

They are the worst bank in the history of life.

I went there today to open a bank account and the lady behind the desk begins to interrogate me on why I want to change banks. I gave her my reason of not being happy with the service at my own bank. Then the lady proceeds with telling me that I must have a concrete reason and that they just cannot accept the fact that I want to move to them, and that a normal person doesn't change from one bank to another, and that she is suspecting that there is something going on. Making me feel like im a criminal for wanting to sign up with them.

How unwelcoming and rude can they get?!

Ps. I am a dutch national

TRULY ATROCIOUS BANK

We opened accounts in the NL over twenty years ago for ourselves and a business. Although we subsequently left the NL, we maintain personal and businesses and use therefore still use our accounts.

We recently received an incredibly ARROGANT AND RUDE letter from Rabobank demanding our passports (which they already had) and demanding to know why we had the audacity to use their services as their new motto is (honestly) BANKING FOR THE DUTCH BY THE DUTCH.

The upshot is Rabobank have now demanded we close our accounts. All I can say is YES, WE WILL!!! And I would advise anyone who expects even the most basic level of respect from their bank to do the same.

How these clowns even hold a banking licence is beyond me.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service! I just wanted to change my phone number associated with my account so I could check my balance online on a new device. Gave them the secret code on the 800 # but this apparently is not enough. They asked me for answers to my secret questions. I gave them the right answers including an address I lived at 30 YEARS AGO but apparently an answer was wrong??? Their solution? To present myself at the nearest branch to verify my identity. The nearest branch is 3 1/2 HOURS AWAY!!! When I explained this, their next solution was to contact my original bank where the account is. This is 12 HOURS AWAY. I'm sure if I call them, they'll ask the same damn questions that I apparently already answered wrong! This happened to me a few years ago when I was living in another place. Luckily that Rabobank branch I had to present myself in person was only 100 MILES AWAY.

I am closing this account that I've had since 2011 and switching all my direct deposits to my other account at Bank of America. Yeah a Hobsons Choice I know but at least BofA has worked with me every step of the way as I set up checking account, money market account and CD. You lost another customer Rabobank or whatever you are ca!!ing yourself now.

RABOBANK SUCKS. I'M DONE HERE.

Rabobank sucks do not trust them

Firstly you would expect an online account to be easy to use.
But NOPE Rabobank send you a digi pass the size of my car key, and mine is small. If you have big fingers or arthritis look out these keys are tiny and you really really have to press them in.
If your slow the screen goes back and you have to try again. If you fail to press the next lot of keys slow, it locks you out of your account.
Be prepared to wait on hold for at least 25 minutes to speak to someone. You identify yourself, ask them to unlock your account. Yes they do, but by then your money has been with them for 4 days till the “funds” clear. Ring back in 5 days, oh yes you have funds, by then your furious, you can’t see your money, you need a new digi pass.
Finally 10 days later yeah you see your money, but you need to verify your from account, wait 2 more days till that’s fixed.
By now they have your money for 12 days, business days, and you still can’t access it.
Do not use this bank
It’s hard and complicated, the operators are few so the phone time is very very long
Go anywhere but here
Rabobank you really suck

Criminal bank..

Criminal bank...
Had two mortgages on separate buildings.
They scrapped one registration and allowed us to keep the credit. Now that we want to renew the other mortgage, they are forcing us to give up the other credit. As we have no choice we feel kept hostage and must do as they enforce on us.. keep away from these criminals. Not to be trusted.

Rabobank Is Run By Thieves

Rabobank is run by thieves. They took $100 from me because the DMV made a mistake. When I pointed this out to my local Pismo Beach, CA. Rabobank manager, Marla Kraft, her response was, "Yes, you did nothing wrong, but our policy is not to give your money back." Here are the details:

I was late with my car registration last year. When that happens in California, the DMV turns the matter over to the Franchise Tax Board. So, last year I got a collection letter from the FTB telling me I had to pay the back registration to the DMV within 30 days or they would start collection proceedings. I scraped together the registration and late fees ($188), and paid them off 4 days after receiving the letter. I got my registration sticker and frankly, I stopped worrying about it after that. Silly me. That was December of 2018.

May of 2019 and my registration became due again. I paid it on time and got my new sticker. July 2, 2019, without any notification that it was about to happen, the FTB raided my Rabobank checking account and took $188, the amount I had already paid over 6 months before. When the FTB did that, Rabobank charged me an additional $100 fee for, well, I'm not sure why. Maybe the CEO needed a new gold-plated toilet seat. I had written checks for the month-end bills a few days before, and now, with $288 missing from my account, I didn't have enough to cover the checks being cashed, and before I knew what had happened, I had an additional $140 in overdraft (NSF) charges.

To their credit, someone from Rabobank called me to inform me of the overdraft charges being incurred ($140 a day). Had they not done so, I don't know how long the charges would have stacked up before I found out. I immediately went online to check my bank account. It showed the $188 being taken, the $100 Rabobank fee, and the $140 in overdraft charges. It didn't tell me who actually took the $188 though, and so much time had passed that the $188 figure didn't mean anything to me.

I had to physically go to my local bank branch to find out it was the DMV/FTB that took the $188. Then it clicked for me - this was the fee I had already paid last December. I called the FTB and pointed this out. They checked their computer and said, "Hey, you're right. The DMV must have failed to notify us that you had paid." They said they'd return the $188 to my account within two days. They were good to their word and the $188 came back. I went down to my bank again and explained the situation. They rescinded the $140 in NSF charges, but said they could not return the $100 fee because it wasn't company policy.

I went back and talked to the manager two days later. I asked her why I was being charged $100 when it was the DMV that made the mistake. I asked three different ways, and she did a little verbal dance each time, avoiding answering me directly, and just kept circling back to saying, "It's not company policy to return such fees."

Rabobank stole $100 from me. If I stole $100 from them, I'd be in jail, but because they pay lobbyists to buy politicians, to pass legislation making such behavior legal, they get away with it. They're thieves is what they are. So if you are considering Rabobank, know beforehand that this is how they operate.
