They only want your money
They only want your money, there is no service at all. There is no way you can make small mistakes like for example when you are 30 euro's minus then you have a big big problem and they will let you know they call you and you have to call them. You are getting letters by post while in the meanwhile the bank account was already in the plus. They will make you feel like crap. Very old fashioned, slow and a waste of time and money. I left today.
Being service charged to death!
I like the online banking but since taking over our Local Mid-State banks they have taken away my preferred checking account, replacing it with an account requiring many more hoops to go through in order to qualify for a few perks #notworthit! They have increased overdraft fees 100%, started charging a yearly fee on both my overdraft loan accounts, plus a money transfer fee and interest. Now I just looked at my savings account and see they have decided to charge a quarterly service fee for saving. I think this is the straw for me, this bank is service charging me to death! Today I'm shopping for a more fair and people friendly bank here in California. This is unfortunate since I've been with Mid-State bank, now Rabobank for almost 30 years. They are only interested in making a buck on you and nothing more.
Not letting me transfer money…
Not letting me transfer money internationally, bad bank
Bad bank
Bad bank, not giving good service, taking fees without my knowing. do not go here.
Only a scatter of branches in Central…
Only a scatter of branches in Central CA, none N of Gilroy in Bay Area. In bank service is great and people always helpful in my local branch. Buuuut, 2 stars because over and over again I have tried to use auto teller machines on weekend and found machine down time and again and several local branches including my own. And I found out the hard way the password I set up doesn't work-- the hint is well known to me so I didn't forget it. But when I called in to check on a new debit card the customer service person was rude when I gave her the correct answer and it didn't match, implying I just forgot. But I didn't forget personal information; the mistake was at the bank or its record keeping. I was brushed off at that point and told to take it to a branch. Waste of time trying to use their phone service aside from making their mistake my mistake. They claim to be an 'Ag' bank but so far its mostly aggravation.
I have good experiences with Rabobank
I have good experiences with Rabobank, they do what they say and yes, some things are more expensive, but they are fairly clear about extra costs.
They don't need new clients
They don't need new clients. Especially expats.
I can not easily (without password…
I can not easily (without password reset) see my account and after several meetings at the bank, and online complaints, it seems they are stuck in the 20th century or do not know how to use a computer. Talking heads and morons that could care less about their service for account holders.
Was just at the rabo bank in zwolle…
Was just at the rabo bank in zwolle because there was a blocking on my account so companies could not recieve their funds..Avery polite lady sent me to another lady at a desk who tutted and puffed at the request of the other woman to help me, was extremely rude and very unhelpful which then she was extremely streesed out and raising her voice in a high pitch giving out to me and telling me i should be doing this on my own computer and i explained that we did not order any blockings but my insurance needed to be paid by 5pm and i wasnt sure how to do it..she then proceeded to scream at me😈😈 therefore myself after years of working in the public sector and knowing how to wear a smile even when you dont want to, did give her a piece of my tongue.. after i left i went back to see her as i found the behaviour so unacceptable but she apparantley was angry at me coz she was late for her tea break and her colleage was also very rude and asked what did i want from them...going to change banks..i pay them for service and dont expect to be treated in such a savage manner, very unprofessional...s.m.h
Sleazy Bank Launders Mexican Drug Money
If you think it's cool to launder money for Mexican drug lords, then you'll love Rabobank which was fined $369 million by the U.S. government in February 2018 after admitting it handled millions in illicit funds. The bank also pleaded guilty to obstructing the investigation in an attempt to avoid the repeat of sanctions it received in 2006 and 2008 for "nearly identical" behavior. The bank will also have to pay a $50 million penalty to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Google: Rabobank Drug Money for details.
Meantime, the bank is notorious for shutting down customers' debit cards without notification if its algorithms suspect fraud. It's done this repeatedly for the past three years, promising each time that it won't happen again. It's an awful feeling, standing in a grocery store checkout line with a full basket and no funds. Sometimes takes several attempts to have your debit card service restored with an average wait time of 27-minutes before a human attempts to help.
Service drug lords, punish innocent customers. A toy bank owned by Dutch interests who scored a record €2.7 billion in 2017 profits, up 32% despite its wrongdoing.
Hands down the worst banking interaction I've ever had and I work in international banking/finance.
The explanation for the 1 star rating: Unacceptable experience, grotesquely unreasonable, beyond rude and disrespectful. Absolute horror! Plus staff is so disrespectful and fake it shows too much, stating imaginary policies (never provided proof or anything), don't listen to you at all, don't care about their customers' experience at all. Actually I'm glad it happened so because I had an appointment with them to open a bank account for my business and I got to get a feel for their service standards and consumer practices.
WARNING TO TOURISTS: don't use Rabobank's ATM machines. You will never receive any 1. Explanation 2. Reasonable options to retrieve your withheld card even if it just happened and you ask for assistance 3. Once you try to get help/info they state an "internal" policy that whatever happens and regardless if it was their fault they just don't care - all cards they said according to their "internal", non-standard banking practice - all cards are thrown in the trash (that's what their INTERNAL, NON-COMMUNICATED with you) practice is, very anti-consumer and will leave you stranded, helpless and outrageously frustrated, especially after you call them. Oh my god!
You explain slowly, cordially and patiently and they simply HANG UP on you .... I called back and the lady was ''' Ohhh it's you again. I was - I called you for the first time ever a minute ago, I told you what happened in 30 seconds and you HUNG UP on me. Jesus Christ. When I called 2nd time started to speak Dutch instead of English and hangs up on me again. Then it transfers me to the same place they originally transferred me to her even after I repeatedly explained that I was transferred to the call center in Utrecht from the bank in Tilburg. Why transfer me back after brushing me off like a pest twice.
Had a bad experience with this bank
Had a bad experience with this bank. Would not recommend going here. Transferring your money is very difficult from desktop as you need a big PIN code entry controller, and the mobile app is mediocre.
Great corporate bank
Never had an issue with Rabobank, and would recommend it to any business, looking to open a corporate bank account.
Ultra conservative bank
Rabobank would not expedite my lost ATM card without an exorbitant $65 fee! As a 10 year customer who has at least $50 in his checking account as well as a safe deposit box filled with cool stuff, I would have thought this bank would be glad to offer me expedited service, but no way!
