Radisson Blu Hotel Durham

Currently very poor value for money as Covid-19 restrictions have greatly affected the services and facilities.
During our July stay, the Pool, the Gym, and the Spa were closed. There was no buffet breakfast and our room was not serviced for the duration of our five-day stay; on request staff left requested items (towels/bedding/toilet rolls/tea bags etc) in a bag outside our room but would not enter.
It felt a bit like camping indoors !
The Manager also refused my request for a partial refund to reflect the reduced level of service.
I would recomend booking elsewhere for the time being !

Outstanding service from Rebecca Kitching

Outstanding service from East Midlands Reservations Manager Rebecca Kitching who was happy to assist with printing vital documents for one of our clients to sign on a very tight timescale - and not even a resident.
Great to see such a can do attitude - well done!!

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. I had pre paid my room and they said policy is to charge my card a further £50 and that I wouldn’t get it back for a few days.

I just wanted to stay with no room charges and leave in the morning.

Staff members said it’s policy but I’d paid for the room in advance.

Awful service and I won’t be using this hotel again and I’ll happily write a 1* review everyday because that’s what this chain deserves.

Radisson blu Birmingham - Shoddy & Poor

Radisson blu Birmingham.
Firstly allow plenty of time to park if you arrive by car - it took me an hour to find the obscure NCP advertised. I'm in a suite, and without wishing to be elitist, there is quality of service to be expected at this level.
It's stuffy and airless, and as you wouldn't expect windows at this height you should expect effective air conditioning. It's not.
It switched off in the middle of the night
accompanied by an annoying flashing light.
Breakfast is not served after 10 ( brusque brush off in the restaurant) so good luck if you arrive from overseas.
The tv offers only freeview and no movies, and the interface is clumsy and slow. The advertised pool facilities actually don't exist, so if you do finally manage to access what the hotel offers, all you get is a sparsely equipped gym, no pool or spa.
I asked for housekeeping to service the room, and 2 hours later this wasn't done. The mistake clearly was to contact hotel "service"
as a word with the actual housekeeper had some one there in minutes.
This morning the tv doesn't work at all. By the end of the day tv was still blank and the aircon still not working. I was finally moved to another suite, where the tv was not working. The air con was however, but not adjustable. It was arctic within 30 mins and remained so despite my increasing the temperature. It failed again completely just as the fire alarm went off intermittently - not a scheduled test. I passed a harassed and worried employee ad I left talking anxiously on her phone.
This hotel has Serious Problems.
That's Radisson crossed off my list.

Poor quality of service.

We booked two rooms for four adults for 4th July 2019, in the RadissonBlu Hotel in Cardiff.

Before writing this review, I initially left feedback on Radissonblu's website on 11 July. Received no reply. Did the same again on 19 July and again have had no reply to my feedback/complaints.

For a hotel chain to ignore the points I raised are unacceptable.

When we asked for items on the room service menu that were shown to be available 24 hours a day, we were told only Pizza or cheese sandwich available!!! For a hotel that makes many claims on its website, this was totally unacceptable.

The room indicated free items available in the room, of which the Nespresso Machine was not there, nor were bathrobe and slippers included.

For the price of room there was an unacceptable untidiness. The kettle was unhealthily unacceptable for the amount of limescale both inside and around the pouring rim.

The breakfast delivered to the room did not have several items such as yogurt, fruit, or juice.

We've had better service and value for money in hotels around the UK and other countries, whose websites make more modest claims about what's on offer.

EMA Hotel With A Heart

A big thank you to Leyla, Reservation Manager at Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport. She listened to my somewhat exceptional circumstances, caused in the main by Thomson Holidays, and agreed to recommend to Holiday Extras that a refund was fair. It is so refreshing to discover people like her who not only are empowered but consider all the facts and make an intelligent, 'human' decision.

Health & Safety Hazard, Faeces in the Toilet, Terrible Customer Service!

Stayed here recently for a musical that was being shown in the nearby Cardiff theatre. Upon arrival into the room there was faeces in the toilet, so the room smelt awful. Luckily we were running late for the musical so was straight out, but all the same it really took the shine of our evening as was obviously something we later discussed that evening... after all, any hotel even a 1* should have a clean room and a clean toilet!

Secondly upon returning back to the hotel after the show, when attempting to use the lamp next to the bed the actual lamp itself fell off leaving all the terminals on show... so a massive health and safety risk, as if I had touched them then I would have surely experienced a shock. Also imagine I had a child in the room with me.... it's not worth thinking about!

Lastly upon going down for breakfast the following morning the lady that greeted us was simply, morning.... enjoy your breakfast... that was it! No showing us to our table or even showing us where everything was. It was as if we were regular customers and knew what to do... this was the first time we ever stayed in this hotel.

We naturally complained about this experience and the hotel refunded the stay.... however no complimentary stay or proper genuine gesture to say sorry. Our evening was ruined in a way, and the issues we had shouldn't have happened to anyone. The hotel classed all these issues as something their 'satisfaction guarantee' would cover!!! Again, that says it all. For a company to accept a health and safety risk in the room and faeces being left in the toilet as something that would be classed under their guarantee amazes me!

Actually hold on.... they offered us a free breakfast if we pay to stay again!!!! Yep, that says it all.

I would advise based on our experience to stay at the big sleep hotel nearby or another hotel in the area. Their staff clearly aren't on the ball to leave such a hazard in the room, faeces in the toilet and a total lack of care and attention at breakfast.

Cardiff Hotel

I stayed here recently for my partners Birthday and we were very lucky to be upgraded to Business Class - we were on the top floor with a view to die for! Everything at this hotel was great :)

Wow wicked hotel

Wow what can i say about this place! The whole vibe is wicked, big comfy beds and chelsea tv in the room, what more can you ask for? You can even make sandwiches at breakfast. Love the whole brand, respect out to the staff who gave me a few pointers about locating ice cubes, respect. Would deff reccomend to friends and foe.

Radisson Blu Jersey!

If you're going to Jersey and want a top class hotel in an enviable position then choose Radisson Blu Waterfront in Jersey. Excellent staff - rooms that are clean, crisp and gorgeous and the touches of service that make you feel very special indeed. I have already started booking my next trip there!
