Malawi is a stunning safari spot. All the camps & lodges we stayed in run by Robin Pope Safaris were wonderfully run & in exquisite sites. The wildlife seen was mega - lions, giraffe, cheetah, hippos,... See more

A trip to Brazil…
We are just back from a trip to Brazil and overall, it was amazing! This was a tailor made trip to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary so we wanted to be sure it went well. Prior to the trip we only had an itinerary, a booking reference, a list of flight details and a Rainbow contact number. To be honest, we were slightly nervous about getting on a plane to Brazil with no vouchers or named contacts etc and hoping that we would be met at the other end. But, everything went very smoothly. The hotels were good and the guides were excellent. On one of the internal flights, one of our suitcases did not arrive but everyone was helpful and we managed to get it back the following day (the contents were intact, although the case itself was broken). Our return to UK was delayed due to bad weather, and it was chaotic at the airport but we got back a day late with our luggage, tired but ok. A slight negative of the trip was that the water levels in the Amazon are extremely low which meant that when staying at the Amazon lodge, it was necessary to climb many steps to access the lodge from the boat. This was a big problem for my husband and meant that he did not manage all of the planned activities. Had we known about the steps, we might have changed the itinerary. Apart from this, it was very good.
We are put off travelling
The company was good and we thought honest as made it clear about some of the potential downsides of the basic accommodation - these were not an issue. But more information should have been shared about it to help us make an informed choice - there were many other downsides we didn't realise. It's put us off travelling to be honest. Still recovering from diarrhea likely caused by improper food handling.

Costa Rica - excellent itinerary
Just back from an amazing trip to Costa Rica with an excellent itinerary arranged by Jake at Rainbow Tours. Every aspect of the trip from flights to transfers to tours and hotels were absolutely perfect for us and we loved it. Links with local agents are obviously really strong with this company and it means you get the best service. Would definitely recommend and will be hoping to book with Rainbow again in the future!

A wonderful adventure in South America
My friend and I, both elderly women, had a wonderful trip to southern Chile and Argentina organised by Jack Brooker at Rainbow Tours. We discussed the trip over a year in advance and he was extremely helpful with all sorts of suggestions. He also chose excellent land agents for Chile and Argentina, and they were in contact with us by WhatsApp which enabled us to ask any last minute questions. This trip was not cheap, but Jack chose wonderful accommodation for us with lake views where available, devised an itinerary which was full of amazing experiences, and was available when we had niggles to be sorted out. We were not sure if going to Patagonia in October was the best time to travel as some of our arrangements were affected by high winds and rain ( and we couldn't see the penguins on Chiloe island, which according to other people amounted to just two birds!), but we also had some lovely weather when crossing the Andes by bus and boat from Puerto Varas to Bariloche, and blue skies when visiting some of South America's wonderful glaciers. The 'easy walk' excursions in Torres del Paine were at the limits of my capability, but I was accompanied by two wonderful young guides and the hotel took very good care of us. The Australis cruise was a real expedition, and challenging for us in our early 70s, and although one of our excursions was cancelled because of high winds, we were able to land on Cape Horn, which was a highlight of the trip. Anything that did go wrong was out of Rainbow Tours' control and we felt that their arrangements were excellent. This is my third trip with Rainbow Tours and they do not disappoint.

Well planned small group tour of an amazing country with stunning lemurs and wildlife. Fantastic informative and caring guide with us throughout the trip.
Good hotels and lodges.
Travel difficult on some roads, rural poverty and farming practices in the South made us realise how lucky we are and the need to protect the remaining forest.
Thoroughly recommend this trip

Another great trip organised by Rainbow tours
Rainbow Tours did just what we know they are great at - we called with an idea of where we wanted to visit and what we wanted to experience, and they build a two week itinerary around that to give us a fantastic trip with experiences that will give life-long memories. Craig Kaufman left no stone unturned in his search for options for us, and built a perfect agenda that met and exceeded every expectation that we had. Gave us a good range of options for both activities and accommodation at every stage, and used his rich experience to guide our decisions. All in all another great bespoke safari - more than happy to recommend Rainbow Tours, and highly likely that we’ll continue our experiences with them again in the future.

Excellent family safari booked in South Africa with Cape Town tagged on at end. We stayed in a fantastic lodge and Rainbow were very quick at making a couple of adjustments which I requested during the trip so everything worked out very well.

Namibia !!
Nikki Lynas organised a superb tour for 3 of us from Cape Town through Namibia over 3 weeks and was fantastic. We had 1 issue regarding our dietary requirement and Nikki was very quick to make sure all the rest of lodges etc were informed. The driving advise with the route directions were also very good as well as the extra information relating to the areas we were visiting

Our trip delivered beyond expectations…
Our trip delivered beyond expectations and we were able to see at least 17 different lemur species. Our local guide understood the need to keep disturbance of the animals to a minimum and sometimes made this point to his compatriots.
Madagascar isn't an easy place to travel if you are vegetarian - the local diet is very meat-heavy and there is little local understanding of the concept of vegetarianism. One night our main meal comprised just plain boiled rice and chips

Madagascar small group and independent
Wanting to visit Madagascar, we decided a small group tour would be best for us and Rainbow's itinerary looked good. We then decided to add another week and sought advice on where to visit and practicalities. Derek listened to our ideas and came up with a perfect extension that more than ticked all the boxes. In Madagascar all guides and drivers were excellent, vehicles suited to the conditions and accommodation all we could want (though activities meant we spent little time there!). Hand over between guides was seamless. Madagascar can be a challenging country to visit and I would thoroughly recommend Rainbow to make the most of your time there.

Unsurpassed expertise in Madagascar
This was our third trip to Madagascar, and the second organized by Rainbow. I would never use another agency for Mada (or try again to sort out my own arrangements) -- specialist Derek Schuurman's depth of knowledge is unbeatable (he _literally_ wrote the book), and the 4-week itinerary he set up for us, tuned after much detailed correspondence, was reasonably priced and ticked every box.
Our original plans were disrupted by an aircraft being withdrawn by internal airline Tsaradia (halving the number of available planes in their fleet...); Derek rescheduled us, at next to no notice, with Rainbow absorbing the costs.
And, of course, Madagascar is utterly amazing. It's like nowhere else on Earth (don't think you're going to get the sort of drive-up big game experience you might on mainland Africa; it's a much more exciting adventure, where virtually everything you see is endemic).

Madagascar
We are just back from a 2 week trip to Madagascar organised by Helen from Rainbow Tours. They had been recommended to us by someone. The pre holiday information was very good, once we had chosen which tour we wanted to do the itinerary was online for us to check into anytime. We also got hard copies the week before. Information was updated for us regularly. The flights and transfers were all smooth with representatives to pick up up and drop us off. The hotels were all excellent and we had tour guides throughout (one constant for the first week of rainforest walks along with some different local park guides). The second week was in the beautiful Eden Eco Lodge, this can only be visited by boat and again all transfers were on time and supported by a local rep. I would fully recommend this company.

Excellent Brazil wildlife tour
We used Rainbow Tours for a recent wildlife trip to Brazil. It was all organised very efficiently by Kerry who was always very prompt to reply to my emails and requests. We did a 5 day riverboat tour on the Black river in the Amazon and 5 days in the Pantanal where we had umpteen jaguar sightings as well as tapir, anteaters, different monkeys, macaws etc.
The whole trip went very smoothly and we had a lovely private guide for the Pantanal. All flights, hotels, accommodation and transfers were excellent.
I will definitely consider using Rainbow Tours again for our next wildlife holiday.

Excellent organisation to have the Best Experience Ever!
Sarah tailor-made a break for my son and I to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands. It was perfect for the two of us, with the right hotels, perfect timescales and suited to my son’s ability. Best of all, it was within our budget 😊
I was worried about being there, but the transfers, hotels, the cruise, everything was perfect!
Would absolutely recommend Rainbow and can’t wait to use them again.
